I love single oil tests. We used to do a single oil swap back in the day where a ton of soapers would make 10 different single oil soaps and then we'd ship them out to everyone to compare. It was alot of fun and a great learning tool.
I didn’t see the AVOCADO OIL demonstration in the video🤔 Wow! Thank you for doing this very informative video! I was surprised by the canola oils’ DOS, the soda ash on the Shea, and the accelerated trace of the coconut. This explains why some of my recipes behaved the way they did. I always love watching your information packed videos!!! THANK YOU!!!🙏🏻❤❤❤

I've been a soap maker for over ten years and I found the superfat calculator on your website very easy to use and helped me choose the right oil. Unrefined palm kernel oil is the best for me. Thank you so much ❤
Hi! We're sorry we missed the avocado oil in video, but all of our avocado oil findings are available in our new blog post here: bberry.studio/Single-Oil-Lather-Test
I’ve made Olive, Coconut separately. Love them both. I recently tried 100% Shea. I really like this as well but the lather is low and creamy’ almost foamy. My skin felt amazing though. .
Loved this! Thank you. I make an olive oil only bar and it is wildly popular especially among people who are sensitive to so many ingredients normally found in soap. I am thinking about a bar with a couple oils. Just have been nervous to try them out when I am doing so well with my castile bar.
I made 100% sunflower used cooking oil soap, it was very soft at first, but after a month it turns harder, I added tbs baking soda to improve cleansing. There was lather, but weak. I used it to clean bathroom, it was sticky, and was cleansing, but not as good as coconut oil soap... it is still soap though
Would the more lotion-like oils be good for facial soaps? This was very cool to watch and honestly would be a good project for expired oils. Not for keeping, but at least for R&D purposes.
It really comes down to each specific oil. You can read a little more about this test on this blog post: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/single-oil-cold-process-soap-lather-tests/
Thank you very much for the great video! One question, if I do a batch with olive, coconut and palm oil, what would be the best ratio of these three? 1/3 of every one of them would be good?
That sounds a lot like one of our all time favorite combinations! A few other favorites are available here: www.brambleberry.com/how-to/soap/art0025-formulating-cold-process-soap-recipes.html
Im new to soap making and I really enjoyed this video. I'm wondering, if you had to choose one of those bars of soap as hair conditioner, which one would you go for? One that does have reasonable lather but also leaves the hair moisturised and silky.
We wouldn't recommend any of these bars for haircare since they are not formulated to a lower pH. We do have two different shampoo bar recipes on our old blog. www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/invigorating-shampoo-bars/ www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/sudsy-shampoo-bars/
Great video!! I was looking for such experiment! I received my order yesterday.. I'm really happy with books, I see hard work in every page. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge 💚💚
Could you tell me what' happened lately with me with my soaps? I am used to making my usual recipe but lately they do not lather anymore! What could cause that? Thank's!
If you send your recipe information to our customer support team at info@brambleberry.com they may be able to help you troubleshoot your recipe and ingredients.
Since that isn’t an ingredient we carry and we haven’t worked with it before, we don’t have any expertise to share on how to use it. We’d recommend checking with the vendor or manufacturer for their recommendations. In the meantime we have some great how-to guides that we would recommend taking a look through: www.brambleberry.com/articles/how-to.

I like a 100% coconut oil soap, with a 20% or higher superfat - it makes a smooth, hard bar with no sodium lactate and it lathers so nicely.
Sorry I'm new to soap making. Please can you tell me what is sodium lactate and why its a problem? Thanks!

This should be required for new and old soap makers alike. Such a wonderful and informative video!!!
Thank you so much!

Unrefined palm kernel oil is the best for me.
Thank you so much ❤
Enjoyed this video, very informative specially the alternative oils and what it can do for our soaps. Thx a mil!!
i love Coconut oil soap. I make it the most. It saponifies quickly and cleanses well.
I missed the avocado oil somewhere. And I cannot find the blog post either.
I think she skipped it. I use avocado oil in all my soaps.

They accidentally left that footage out I think
Hi, can you show how to make hotdogs soap, thank you so much
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!
This was great to learn about basic ingredients and a better response to "can I substitute this oil..." because it gives you a deeper understanding.
I’ve made Olive, Coconut separately. Love them both. I recently tried 100% Shea. I really like this as well but the lather is low and creamy’ almost foamy. My skin felt amazing though. .
This was so helpful and interesting!
Such a good video. I am glad that I found it. I dont make soap but I understand better what to look for in a soap ❤
Thanks for this I'm going to make soap for the first time once i get all the stuff and i want to gather as much research as possible thank you

Loved this exciting way to try out thank you so much for sharing ❤

I would love for you to test Tallow.
Such great info, thank you. Question about micas, I have TLP (this little piggy) pigments. Are these safe to use in soap making?
Thanks! We haven't tested TLP pigments so we're unable to say but the manufacturer should have more info on what they can be used for.
So would you recommend a 100% coconut oil bar as maybe a dish soap or laundry bar?
Yes, those are great options for a 100% coconut oil bar.
Thank you mam
Great video, Ann Marie. Thanks for doing this research for us. Bless
hi! I have a question, is it possible to make soap with black seed oil?
Totally!
Rice Bran and Canola seem to be missing from the blog post (in addition to the avocado missing from the video as others have commented).
Thank you for letting us know!
Awesome info!
Did you have to redo the coconut soap?
We did not have to redo the coconut soap.
Great video!! I was looking for such experiment!
I received my order yesterday.. I'm really happy with books, I see hard work in every page.

I hope the suppliers aren't 'cutting' the oils.
First of all what oils are you using? Can’t help you unless we know what type of oils you are using in your soaps.
If you send your recipe information to our customer support team at info@brambleberry.com they may be able to help you troubleshoot your recipe and ingredients.
Are we used lannett 16 or 0 in soap or no

Agradeceria medidas y el yodo
Where is the 🥑 ?
Yes. Was waiting for the avocado part. It seems to have been cut out of the video.
Yes. Was waiting for that. She mentions it at 6:55, but where is the soap?
The soap can be seen on our old blog post: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/single-oil-cold-process-soap-lather-tests/
Nice :) But, the "Holy Trinity of Oils?" hmmmm
Holy Trinity never even found in the Bible, new testament or old testament , other thing, l don't believe babies are born sinners!!!! Babies are pure
Holy Trinity is not in the Bible not new testament or old testament
