Very nice presentation and great ideas. Another tip is to save the nice zippered bags that sheets and pillow cases come in. I have used them so many times. My husband & I are off to an Hawaiian Island cruise next week for our 55th anniversary and my 75th birthday. Can't wait.
Thank you for the video! One thing from the Dollar Tree we took on our last trip was the small cloth foldable storage bins. We used them to store snacks in the cabin and to organize personal products.
Great tips! The only thing I would add is a highlighter. Every night they give you a newsletter and it has the next days activities listed. We used to highlight the ones we were interested in.
I realize your cruise was last year but just a bit of info for those searching for cruise tips. -1- yes you can carry those bottles of detergent and fabric softner. -2- rather than bother with detergent I will pour some of the on board soap (from the cabin bathroom), on some of the clothes to be washed and proceed to do laundry. Of course I often just wash items when i shower - drop items on the shower floor and 'agitate' everything by marching-in-place. Fabric softener I pour into empty RX bottles and add to rinse water. Then I dispose of the bottles. When traveling by car I just break a bot of the soap off from the hotel supply and toss that in the washer. -3- also from $ Tree I purchase the clip-on auto air vent air fresheners and clip them on a bathroom vent and one in the stateroom. There's usually 6 or more to a pack. You can use the same ones in your hotel to-&-from the ship, just return them to a zip-top bag. -4- also from $ Tree - ponchos! I buy the 3 for a dollar packages. I usually saw ponchos on the ship and in cruise ports for at least $5 each. I actually keep ponchos in the tote in my car at all times - very handy. -5- not available at $ Tree but I consider it priceless. NuSkin aka Liquid Bandage. I cut my foot as we boarded a ship. Staff made a big production of hovering. I cleaned it with alcohol, applied Liquid Bandage (I prefer CVS brand since I regularly receive coupons via the in-store kiosk), told them I wanted a pair of flip-flops and I would sign an agreement to not pursue any remuneration. They were shocked! (I admit we did receive several pairs of sandals, fruit baskets, champagne, onboard credits, etc.) But I was able to go into the water, walk in sand, etc - no issues whatsoever. I suggest placing the bottle in a small zip-top bag. Mine has not ever leaked but I know people that experienced a nasty mess. -6- a box of $ Tree zip top bags. -7- a small bottle of hand sanitizer with a clip to attach it to a backpack or tote strap. (You can purchase a smaller 3pk for the same price. Those do not attach to a bag.) -8- lip moisturizer. 2 or 3 packs via $ Tree. Wind and sun can quickly lead to chapped lips. -9- eye drops. A small container from $ Tree is a perfect travel size. -10- moisturizing body lotion. 10 oz Dermasil from Dollar Tree is ideal for my needs. Again, wind and sun and salt can quickly cause dry skin. I fill an empty RX bottle to take off the ship with me, refill as needed. For those that fly to-&-from the cruise they can pack several empty RX bottles. -11- saline nasal spray. 1.5 oz Sheffield brand via $ Tree. -12- not always easy to find but I stock-up on $ Tree compact umbrellas and stuff 2 or 3 in my luggage. -13- cough drops. As you stated, medical items are always pricey on the ships. I keep 2 packages from $ Tree in my cruise stash. -14- I drink coffee or hot tea. I always have a $ Tree travel mug with me when I cruise. Not fancy but it certainly is a treat for me. The 'cups' of coffee they offer are a joke, IMO. Plus I sometimes prefer a flavored tea or other item that I can bring with me. I use the hot water on the Lido deck and make my own instant cappuccino. A much smaller serving was $13 a 'tiny' cup on my last cruise.
If you play bingo onboard the SHIP, Dollar Tree has the liquid bingo markers, as well. The first time I played, the SHIP charged $3.50 for one. Thanks for all of the other wonderful ideas!
I always bring some Clorox or lysol type wipes. I wipe down the room as soon as we get there. The handles, all the surface tops, shower, the phone. The Stewards do a great job of cleaning, but they have a very quick turn around. I want to make sure that my room is as germ free as possible. No point in sanitizing your hands all over the place, and then come to your room, and picking up lots of germs.
I do the same thing on the cruise and in hotel rooms!! They sell the Wet Ones anti-baterial wipes in the "The Big Ones" size and individual packages so you can take them onshore easier.
Great point, but lysol doesn't kill the Novovirus that is common on cruises though. Clorox can, except it depends on the product type. Helpful Hint: Be sure to get wipes that specifically kill the Novo & other viruses/bacteria (the package will tell you). Also, pay attention to contact time (the length of time the area needs to be wet to effectively kill the intended). Shorter contact times are best (2 minutes or less). Most surfaces wiped with wipes dry in 2 or less, therefore, if contact time is 5 or 10 minutes, you will have to keep reapplying to maintain moisture until that time requirement is met. #GoodToKnow
I guess TH-cam is realizing I’m obsessed with cruising. I subscribed. Never thought to get the power strip at the dollar tree. Will pick one up since mine died. Great list. One other thing I get at the dollar tree are zip ties to lock close my luggage on the final night of the cruise. This way if customs needs to get in they still can cut it off ( instead of my expensive lock) and it deters mosey kids or potential thieves while the luggage is sitting outside your door.
These items are genius. I've only been on one cruise and want to go again. This is the kind of things you don't think about until you don't have it. Brilliant!💜💜💜
I went of a cruise with two friends for six days with carnival. We shared a room and I luckily thought of buying the bringing poo pourri. It's a spray you use before going number 2 and it covers the smell. Very handy especially in a state room with three people.
Thank you for sharing your tips. Sorry so many people feel the need to be so critical over the use of simple words. I appreciate you taking the time to share. Can't we all be a little nicer a say something positive?
I pick up a rack that hangs on the showerhead to hold shampoo, razor, shower gel, etc ... and an over door cloth shoe holder to go over bathroom door to hold "stuff" meds, cough drops, sunscreen.. saves counter and drawer space
I was a manager of Dollartree for several years. Just want to let you know that sunblock DO NOT USE!!! There has been several lawsuits not sure how they are still able to sell it, but it has given people rashes that turned for the worse. It is not true SPF as well. Just wanted anyone that may want to buy it to know I had several customers come back to me with several different cases that went back. I took it off the shelf. Other than that love your other items.. Loved shopping in my store for cruise items!
Kay Sandel just got off the Carnival Elation and saw hand sanitizer NOPLACE , so, it must depend on their ships. Just 3 weeks till we sail on the Disney Dream again. I know that there is hand wipes EVERYWHERE there. They hand everyone a white before you enter any food service area!! 😀
gail handschuh that’s nice . That’s something I won’t ever see for myself because as much as we love Disney, ( and we understand why) the fact they don’t have casinos keeps us from Sailing with them. There are plenty others that do. Happy cruising 😊✌️
Great Video - saw it in late November. Have been on 20+ cruises and never thought of the magnets. On 2 cruises last December, I brought several magnets and used them for invitations and notices. I don't know of any Dollar Stores, so purchased magnets from Staples. Great help! Also a tip, use the closet hangers with clips to fasten the cabin drapes closed tight so sun will not wake you in morning. The draperies never seam to close completely by themselves. i also used the clips i learned from your video. Great Work and THANK YOU!
Thanks Tiffany, I learned some new tips from your video and I have been on 7 cruises to date. One tip I like to pass on is that I bring (from the Dollar Tree) a packet of Bounce Dryer Sheets, a packet of Tide Pods and a Gift Bag for my cabin Stewart. This little $3.00 gift really goes far on the cruise ship. I make sure to grab it the very first time I make contact with my cabin Stewart and give it to him or her, because they can really make my vacation so much better.
I brought a few small thank you cards for the cabin stewards and dining room helpers and put $20 in them cuz they really work hard. If you take the time to get to know their name, they’ll make your cruising better. The dining room helpers would find you a nice table at the buffet and save a table for you while you go to the buffet.
Since I live in Alaska, I’ve found that people love the little trinkets. I will bring an assortment of keychains, magnets, and so forth and hand them out on our last day to the friends I’ve made. I also bring a few thank you cards for the employees I’ve gotten to know and put a magnet in there with a nice tip. People still enjoy those little things and it makes a difference to get a hand-written thank you card. I’ve always given these gifts on the last day or the night before because I don’t expect anything in return from the friends I’ve made or the employees. I’ve found that just being kind gets me a lot of benefits from the employees and I never want the friends I’ve made to think they need to give me something in return. This is only the way I do things and I don’t want anyone thinking that because I may do it differently that your may be wrong, it’s not. Do what makes you comfortable and how you think is right.
what kind of little gifts for the stewards? i included my tips in my tickets...and i'm really really tight on funds... but i want them to show my son the first cruise of a lifetime ....gift ideas???
You are so right about taking your own cough medication along. A couple of cruises ago I wanted some Robitussin and the ship wanted $16.00 for a small bottle. I didn't pay their price and sure wished I had taken my Dollar Tree generic along. For laundry supplies I take fabric softener sheets and a couple of laundry pods along. I like the Arm & Hammer brand as they are not liquid. Both the pods and the fabric softener sheets will fit into a sandwich baggie.
Just found your channel great ideas. A lot of people don't realize you have to bring everything you think you're going to need because you cannot purchase it on the ship and if they have it on this ship it's four times the price. Thanks so much
That was a great list Tiffany thanks for sharing. I myself love to cruise as well. One item I found to be very helpful to keep our cabin a little more organized is a clear shoe hanger. I used it to store almost everything we brought along with us. It was very easy to located the things that were needed and allowed more drawer and dresser space. This worked great for me and my family. I loved this idea so much that I currently use it in my home for some of my kids items in their rooms.
This video was so helpful! I had my amazon cart full of identical items for 10X the cost. Definitely will be checking out dollar tree! Didn’t know they had a majority of these items.
Wow, I (and a few others) consider myself an expert packer. I’m that person everyone on the group trip goes to for something they forgot because they know I’ll have it. I’ve got to admit, even you gave me a new idea or two. Great job! hands down the best video on this topic in my humble opinion. Now I plan to watch more of your videos!
I buy wrinkle releaser. Dollar Tree doesn't have it, but Dollar General does. Since you can't use a travel iron on the ship, this is great to get your wrinkles out.
One item that we took to our vacation in Turks and Caicos was Pedialyte AdvancedCare packets! I used one every morning and felt great! Its perfect if you spent a little too much time in the sun or indulged in a few too many drinks! The directions say to mix with 16 ounces water, but I recommend 20 ounces because its a little strong tasting. Of all the items that we took, that was the most beneficial besides sunscreen! Oh I also bought those XXL (or XL) ZipLoc bags for each of us to put our dirty clothes in. I put our names on them so everyone knew where to put their dirties! I want to take a cruise, what cruise line are you taking?
I buy gallon size ziplocks and put anything that can spill in them. I also put plastic wrap under the cap to shampoo/conditioner, etc as an extra precaution. Especially if I am going somewhere warm.
I saw someone else post this too. Not all ships have self-service laundry, but if you needed to just wash small items in the sink, you can purchase those one-use detergents too. I also bring a sample size bottle of dish soap to wash glasses/cups(a dish towel from home - don't want to use bath towels to dry them! LOL) On Princess, they have the Medallion now so you don't need cards and have hands-free to open your cabin door. The also have apps that let you message each other and the map will help you locate each other on ship. And...they have a bunch of laundry facilities! I too, do some laundry mid-way through the cruise. I've used most of the items you listed and they worked great! Magnets weren't as strong as I would have liked though. Great video! Thanks for sharing your ideas! Bon voyage!
Great job...thank you for the ideas. Don’t forget soaps, toothbrush/holders. They now sell socks I refuse to walk on the carpeted floor. I always take allergy medicines especially for lobster night I’m allergic, cheap straw hats. I could go on. I love the Dollar Tree.
Instead of carrying the bottle of liquid soap and a bottle of liquid fabric softener that I find heavy in your suitcase especially if you are flying I find that you can also at the Dollar tree by the package of five soap pods that come similar to tide or other ones that you can buy name brands in this grocery store and they come Pfiefer dollars so that will do five loads and also in a small snack lunch baggies I put several sheets of downy fabric softener this is quite a bit lighter to carry then the two bottles of liquid you were showing it's just what I personally use
Another tip if you’re really trying to save money; take a lightweight insulated beach bag for excursions and first fill it with sandwiches, fruit etc from the Lido buffet. Food is free on the ship but expensive off of it.
Some ships don't allow you to take food from the ship to the islands. I know Disney does not, they even have a cute little phrase they say "no bananas from the cabanas" and some other things they mention :)
It has been 4 yrs since I’ve gone on a Carnival cruise (the only cruise line I’ve used) but at that point I saw no signs. Definitely could have changed rules since then.
You are amazing for making this video. I love shopping at the dollar tree! They had GREAT stuff for a DOLLAR. And I needed these ideas for my upcoming cruise!!
Taking my #?? cruise this December...this video was a great reminder of things to have available. Two things that I do know...not all cruise lines allow power strips that have surge protectors OR cords. I'm purchasing a power cube that fits right into an outlet without a cord. And they don't all have self service laundry. I do bring products tho so I can hand wash a few items. Must remember to get those large clips to hold towels but also to keep my bathing suit on the balcony when drying. 🏊☀️⛱️
THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU ARE NUMBER ONE HELPER. I CAN'T BELIEVED FROM DOLLAR TREE STORE EVERYTHING? TOWEL SCRIPT WOW, WATER CUPS ALL OF THEM. JANUARY WE ARE GOING TO CRUISE. I AM SURE TOMORROW I AM GOING TO RIGHT THE WAY DOLLAR STORE. THANKS MILLION :-))
Thanks for all the tips! I love cruisin and some of these I haven't thought of. Please disregard the the rude and critical comments. I wont judge you for saying "boat" 😁
I hope your cruise is a fantastic vacation. I am sure they will figure out a plan. My friend is on a ship right now and they were heading to the Bahamas I am not sure where they were rerouted to. If I find out I will let you know :)
A helpful tip: Use a jumbo pill organizer for all of your family meds and label them. You will have them all in one spot and easy to read labels. Tylenol, Excedrin, cold and flu, Anti-diarrhea and anything else your family may need in case of emergencies. Hopefully, no one will need them, but you will have them if any of you do. Make sure your labels are easy to read and taped on well. Have a great holiday!
Any RX meds I take out of original bottles and put in pill organizers, I apply a label on the bottom. You can request extra labels be printed at the pharmacy.
My dollar tree has freeze dried apples. They weigh next to nothing and are awesome to take on excursions. We also pack ziplock bags so we can take some snacks with us (from buffet or bought before hand). My #1 suggestion is buying the propel electrolyte packets to add to your water. The extra electrolytes are so important with all the sun and especially if you’ve indulged in a few too many drinks. We each drink water with propel every morning.
I bought plastic craft organizers at dollar tree today. Cruising with 8 & 10 yr old grand daughters. I plan on personalizing them fir each. I will fill with different snacks in each compartment. They are perfect for excursions or on the deck by the pool. They are driving from DC to Ft Lauderdale. They can use it for the day trip to Universal, and the car ride home too.
Won't get all of these at dollar tree, but they are good suggestions nonetheless. *Plastic utensils* (they use metal, so if you are carrying food back to the rm w/o them, you have plastic as a backup). *Paper towel Roll* They only provide tissue, or toilet paper in the rm *Extra pair of glasses/contacts/hearing aids/etc.* I can't see worth a damn w/o glasses, & if my only pair broke, got lost, or more extreme- fell off my face overboard.....yeah, cruise ruined. *Download a sleep app* that doesn't require internet BEFORE boarding. If it's your thing....🤷. I need rain sounds to sleep, and would have been up shit's creek if i had forgotten that i wouldn't be able to play them from my TH-cam playlist) If needed, *a travel humidifier, & mini fan* are useful. *Wine opener!* Otherwise you have to wait & have them do it at dinner. *Copies of all your identifying records & Important numbers* Like license, birth certificate, passport, cruise ticket, bank #, insurance #, family #, #'s to reach relevant govt assistance in your home country, etc. Just in case the worst happens, you have copies that may rescue you, or at the very least help to initiate & expedite the process. Take them w/ you if you leave the ship.
I take pictures of all the documents, before I put them in the safe. If for any reason they take your documents when you board, make note of the name of the person who took them. We had an issue with customs the day before disembarking. Our daughter was adopted from Canada, so they kept just her documents. Someone misplaced a document, and they said we could get off the ship. I took a picture of the gal with her name tag, holding the documents. It took a bit, but the figured it out!!
Also sometimes they have hats straw or baseball hats. Umbrellas, in case there is a shower or for shade. Snacks makeup but didnt try,got trial size Lysol spray. If Dollar store doesnt have try Walmart in their trial size section.
And they don’t sell medication on board for stomach aches because they want you to go to the doctor, to see if you have a viral infection. So always take Imodium to a cruise!
I use the cabin provided body wash for washing my bathing suite. Works well. Been on 20+ cruises and love them. All cruise lines are now environmental conscious so haters should not be concerned about cruise ships as noted in several comments.
Keep in mine, sanitizers work OK, but washing your hands for at least 30 seconds with soap helps to prevent ‘cooties’ from ruining your vacation more so than sanitizer lotion, gel or spray.
Joan Robinson YES, any place where multiple hands have touched. Use either drying paper towels (on Celebrity there are cloth drying towels) or tissue. If none available I use my sleeve or shirt tail!
my wife and i just finished a cruise on MSC Seaside all i had on for 7 days were shorts my wife went into the dinning room on dressy night in a bathing suit with shorts on and many people had shorts on . what is happening is formal night is disappearing fast when people cruise they want casual .... yes bring your drink cup very helpful 19 cruises for me so far
Wow... that's interesting. On Royal Caribbean you are not allowed in the MDR on formal nights if not in proper attire. You are redirected to the other complimentary restaurants onboard on those nights. Just about everyone on our cruise was dressed. I guess it depends on the ship that you are on. 19 Cruises? Nice! What other Cruise Lines have you experienced?
ICYMI: Wearing a bathing suit into the MDR is not something you brag about - I would think MSC had higher standards than that! Just because some folks break the rules doesn't make it right ...sad
@@Nabiyah1 Good for you! Stay classy! It's a shame some ppl think the rules don't apply to their entitled asses. If you want to wear shorts to dinner have a burger by the pool!
New subscriber. Great video. I've been on a few cruises and always like new ideas. Thanks for sharing. Also the nausea brackets work amazing. We usually only feel it during dinner as well.
Love cruising!! Great idea for the cup and we also take a fan for the cabin. Also, check out the CruisePak, it’s a great little First Aid bag with all kinds of stuff that you may need. 😎🛳
Great video!💕Going on my 1st cruise in October.I've purchased ALL these items😂..I love the fact that you "listed" the items,as well..thanks for sharing😁
Another GREAT buy for a cruise is a disposable bath mat so you don't have to put your feet where countless others have! Not sure if it can be had a dollar tree but is certainly inexpensive!
I love dollar store, I go for my family beach house that I go every year for a month to New Jersey from Arizona. But this trip hoping next year but great ideas on TH-cam is If i for get anything. If my dad drive out there same time I'll leave stuff with him to leave at the house for next summer. But shampoo conditioner seemed be more watery for me and give me knots after
Thank you for this video. Now what you can do with the small sewing kit. Put in the colors of what your wresting. It’s good to change it every time you use the traveling sewing kit. Now what I did the medicines I had gotten a makeup bag from Dollar. Tree and I did find one it’s red who knew so I put all the medicine I’m taking and. Put a small tag and tied it to bag. I wrote. Medicine Bag on mine.
I know this is an older video, but one thing that you can buy the helps with motion sickness or nausea is smelling lemon or peppermint/eucalyptus scents. You can buy those inhalers that look like lipsticks and stick them near your nose. They do come in both scents. I suffer from this often so I carry these everywhere I go.
Be careful with medications, especially prescriptions. They should stay in their original packaging when traveling to other countries. Make sure what you have is legal where you are going. I know there are some that can't go across borders.
Good tip. I know when you travel on a plane that's the rule but we drive to Florida and then we go on the ship. We haven't had any problems with that so far. I don't take my medicine off the ship, but if that's something that you need to do then for sure I would say keep it in the original container. :)
@@TiffanyDawnMad4Makeup I would think you could just make a copy of your Rx bottles label and carry that with you. I've never had an issue with questions about meds on flights nor on cruises.
I’ve had this problem luckily we don’t go till April and found out before my pain medication is illegal. I have to pay for a medical note off the doctor stating why I need them and other info so I can take them into the country.
It is a good idea to have your doctor write out a hard copy RX for you to take on vacation with you. For both proof of need, but also in case you have issues with medications while on vacation (ie drop in sink, luggage gets lost, etc). Also good to take glasses/contacts prescription. By the way, if you have asthma and go to Mexico, many inhalers are over the counter at the local pharmacy. My daughter is on Albuterol inhaler 2 times daily. You can get a THREE pack of inhalers for about $25!! Copays here in Oregon are about $75 for 1. Also in Canada Tylenol 1 with Codiene (and caffeine) is over the counter. You can buy two bottles per person at the pharmacy.
Very nice presentation and great ideas. Another tip is to save the nice zippered bags that sheets and pillow cases come in. I have used them so many times. My husband & I are off to an Hawaiian Island cruise next week for our 55th anniversary and my 75th birthday. Can't wait.

The only problem with the DT power strip is that it is really short.

Leah Jarvis,
Thank you for looking out for your shoppers.
The FDA issue a warning about using medicine dont use. See your Doctor
Love Dollar Tree for crafty things. The few times I’ve bought toiletries or medicine it seems they are ‘watered down’. Thank you for the heads up!!!!
Great ideas but don't forget the Dollar tree candies cuz the candy on the ship is very high 😎
Carnival has got a lot better. We seen hand sanitizers everywhere there was food served and just random places too.
That is a really sweet gesture. I will be sure to do that for our next cruise :)
I brought a few small thank you cards for the cabin stewards and dining room helpers and put $20 in them cuz they really work hard. If you take the time to get to know their name, they’ll make your cruising better. The dining room helpers would find you a nice table at the buffet and save a table for you while you go to the buffet.
Thank you Paul! That is a great idea. We cruise in December and I'm gonna do that.
Thanks so much
totally agree the pricing on the ship is outrageous. Thank you so much for your kindness :)
Yesssss that's my favorite night light. I always bring it with me on trips
OK OK OK ..... Mad Libs. They are hilarious and great fun with the family
I need to go and look at the dollar tree from some of the stuff we need. And the pill holder is get for jewelry.
Great idea thanks 👍
That was a great list Tiffany thanks for sharing. I myself love to cruise as well. One item I found to be very helpful to keep our cabin a little more organized is a clear shoe hanger. I used it to store almost everything we brought along with us. It was very easy to located the things that were needed and allowed more drawer and dresser space. This worked great for me and my family. I loved this idea so much that I currently use it in my home for some of my kids items in their rooms.
Thank you for your information. This is great information!
Carabiners! Always take carabiners. I like the large leakproof cups with some sort of handle and you can attach them to your bag.
Yes! Carabiners are such a great idea. We usually pack one or two they are super helpful :)
good tips. I lovecruising and some of those items are perfect for a cruise trip!
Thank you! You had some ideas that I hadn't thought of and some I didn't think the dollar tree sold.
This video was so helpful! I had my amazon cart full of identical items for 10X the cost. Definitely will be checking out dollar tree! Didn’t know they had a majority of these items.
I think Dollar Tree has some fantastic items. I am happy that I was able to hopefully save you some money :)
That's a great idea. I saw so many people get their irons confiscated on our last cruise. :)
Dollar tree has it now.. and irons are banned.. there is usually a board and iron in laundry room
YES, a must !
Good morning Tiffany, most of these i have with me on my trip, such a great video , have fun on your trip and be safe...💕💕💕
Love both of your tips! We are going on carnival 🚢 we have done carnival 3 times and Disney once 💕
Good tip. Thanks😎
I buy gallon size ziplocks and put anything that can spill in them. I also put plastic wrap under the cap to shampoo/conditioner, etc as an extra precaution. Especially if I am going somewhere warm.
I NEVER would have thought of this. I’m going on my 3rd cruise soon, and purchased the alcoholic drink package. I plan on getting quite inebriated 🥴 🤣
Your nail polish collection is CRAZY haha. going on my first cruise in October & this was super helpful!
I have way too many, but they are all so pretty. LOL. I hope you have a fantastic time on your cruise! What ports will you be stopping at? :)
LOL)
On Princess, they have the Medallion now so you don't need cards and have hands-free to open your cabin door.
You have some great ideas too Jennifer! I am like you I don't walk in any hotel or ship without shoes or socks. I typically take some slippers :)
Such a helpful video sweet lady! Thank you for sharing all of this Tiff! Great items to take on vacation to use for sure.
I always take meds with me even if I don't normally need just in case.
Great tips! I have to be careful of brands that I use my guys get hives from some cleaners. 💕
Smart
I do the pods and sheets too, but carry a small(3 oz or less of a little bit of soap for handwashables or just a few items.)
Great idea..that is what we do
Check with your cruise line if they have self laundry
Thank you for this. I am going on my first cruise this year and this is very informative.
You are going to love it! I love saving money where I can for sure 😊
Princess Kym Smith interesting! I didn’t know if the ships would let you take food. Which ones?
It has been 4 yrs since I’ve gone on a Carnival cruise (the only cruise line I’ve used) but at that point I saw no signs. Definitely could have changed rules since then.
this list is awesome and very helpful! Thanks
Not all ships offer laundry. I usually just buy the single packets of Tide if I want to wash something out in the sink.
I was just wondering that bc I didnt realize there were customer-accessible washer and dryers onboard
I also wash a few things in the sink and always bring a plastic hanger to dry them on.
You are amazing for making this video. I love shopping at the dollar tree! They had GREAT stuff for a DOLLAR. And I needed these ideas for my upcoming cruise!!
Thank you so much Olivia! I hope you have an amazing cruise 💕
Very easy presentation to listen to, great job….
i watch these video everytime i’m bout to go on a cruise and i never get any of these and end up regretting it EVERY. TIME.
I've never been on a cruise but I plan to. Great tips!
Quick and simple. Thanks for the tips. I am going on a cruise in 2 weeks!
I hope you have a fantastic cruise :)
Cruise ships have restrictions that you can’t take a surge protector. You can take an extension cord or a multi usb charger.
Taylor's Mom - she suggested an extension cord, not a surge protector. 2 differences is hers had a short cord and a huge price break.
My cruise is just over 2 weeks away and I've been looking for a list like this. I really do need to start organizing and preparing some stuff lol.
Thanks for all the tips! I love cruisin and some of these I haven't thought of. Please disregard the the rude and critical comments. I wont judge you for saying "boat" 😁
Extension cord is a must have also. A reusable bag is nice also
Just FYI Royal Caribbean does not allow extension cords as they are a fire hazard.
Extension cords and power strips are prohibited on ships. They are fire hazards. Bring USB hubs instead for phones and other handheld devices.
My cruise is September 16th to the Bahamas! I don’t know what will happen after Dorian but I am still going. Those poor people! I loved your video!
I hope your cruise is a fantastic vacation. I am sure they will figure out a plan. My friend is on a ship right now and they were heading to the Bahamas I am not sure where they were rerouted to. If I find out I will let you know :)
wow my cruise is September too. wow 🤗
A helpful tip:
Use a jumbo pill organizer for all of your family meds and label them.
Propel is a great idea 💕
I bought plastic craft organizers at dollar tree today. Cruising with 8 & 10 yr old grand daughters. I plan on personalizing them fir each. I will fill with different snacks in each compartment. They are perfect for excursions or on the deck by the pool. They are driving from DC to Ft Lauderdale. They can use it for the day trip to Universal, and the car ride home too.
Very helpful we are going on our first cruise in February
I hope you have a blast :)
Me to Sherrie Thompson...Royal Carribean..out of Galveston!!!
You will love it Sherri... if you have any questions, please let me know... I’m a travel agent and cruiser 😀
Tiffany Dawn we’re going in September and February!
Won't get all of these at dollar tree, but they are good suggestions nonetheless.
*Plastic utensils* (they use metal, so if you are carrying food back to the rm w/o them, you have plastic as a backup).
*Paper towel Roll* They only provide tissue, or toilet paper in the rm
*Extra pair of glasses/contacts/hearing aids/etc.* I can't see worth a damn w/o glasses, & if my only pair broke, got lost, or more extreme- fell off my face overboard.....yeah, cruise ruined.
*Download a sleep app* that doesn't require internet BEFORE boarding. If it's your thing....🤷. I need rain sounds to sleep, and would have been up shit's creek if i had forgotten that i wouldn't be able to play them from my TH-cam playlist)
If needed, *a travel humidifier, & mini fan* are useful.
Pack a flashlight, too.
Also sometimes they have hats straw or baseball hats. Umbrellas, in case there is a shower or for shade. Snacks makeup but didnt try,got trial size Lysol spray. If Dollar store doesnt have try Walmart in their trial size section.
Going on my first cruise September 2020 . So I needed this video thank you sooooo much good job 👍🏽
Love this! Another medication type product would be Imodium because you just never know 😂
Great idea! That’s very true 💕
Great idea. Thanks. And gas medication. If I add gas medication with imodium together it gets me over my stomachache/diarrhea quicker.
Thank You, for that tidbit. You are absolutely right you never know 🙂
And they don’t sell medication on board for stomach aches because they want you to go to the doctor, to see if you have a viral infection. So always take Imodium to a cruise!
Because we fly to the port , I pack laundry pods and dryer sheets to save weight.
Loved the video Thanks we're going on our 1st cruise soon.... Great Ideas!
Thanks for the ideas ... it's our first time and I needed a guide like this ... I love it 😍😍😍😍😍
I hope you enjoy your cruise :)
Morning, Tiffany, thank you for the tips!! 💕
Thank you my friend for watching and being kind 💕
I use the cabin provided body wash for washing my bathing suite. Works well. Been on 20+ cruises and love them. All cruise lines are now environmental conscious so haters should not be concerned about cruise ships as noted in several comments.
Looks like you're very prepared for the what ifs. I can' t think of a thing to add. I do the same thing...prepare for anything and everything LOL ;-)
Imodium and pepto bismol go with us, sun screen, bug spray always pack. We travel for 28-60 days at a time. Off on a 36 day Amazon cruise next month
WOAH! I am packing to join you right now :)
Great ideas!! Thank you for sharing!!
Keep in mine, sanitizers work OK, but washing your hands for at least 30 seconds with soap helps to prevent ‘cooties’ from ruining your vacation more so than sanitizer lotion, gel or spray.
Never touch a doorknob; they are lethal
Joan Robinson YES, any place where multiple hands have touched. Use either drying paper towels (on Celebrity there are cloth drying towels) or tissue. If none available I use my sleeve or shirt tail!
Amazing tips and very informative video. Thanks!
Thank you Sarae :)
my wife and i just finished a cruise on MSC Seaside all i had on for 7 days were shorts my wife went into the dinning room on dressy night in a bathing suit with shorts on and many people had shorts on . what is happening is formal night is disappearing fast when people cruise they want casual .... yes bring your drink cup very helpful 19 cruises for me so far
WOW! 19 cruises that's amazing! What are some of your tips :)
Wow... that's interesting.
That is sad. People don't want to hold any standards at all.
Love the changing light in the back
Thank you Mizz :)
Oh, thanks for the cruisepak tip 💕
I hope to go on a cruise 🚢 someday! Sounds like fun 🥤🚩
I love going on cruises, they are soo relaxing and you have fun on the different ports 💕
Great infornation I'm headed on my 1st cruise in Oct ,,,
Thank you. We're going on my first cruise next year💙 very informative.
I hope you have a fantastic voyage 💕
@@TiffanyDawnMad4Makeup Thank you!
Great video!💕Going on my 1st cruise in October.I've purchased ALL these items😂..I love the fact that you "listed" the items,as well..thanks for sharing😁
I hope you have an amazing cruise 💕
Grab an extension cord also. It will come in handy for sure
Great tips, thank you!
I recommend the RFID
lanyard on Amazon....To prevent Identity fraud.
From your sail and sign card? 🤔🤨
@@katod1307 I use a really cool lanyard with rfid material will post next week....purchased on Amazon
We get the battery operated night lights just because outlets are at a premium.
we just turn on the light in the bathroom and crack the door slightly. :)
Good tip. Thanks😎
Tide pods and ounce in a ziplock are great
Another GREAT buy for a cruise is a disposable bath mat so you don't have to put your feet where countless others have! Not sure if it can be had a dollar tree but is certainly inexpensive!
Yes, they carry those at Dollar Tree.
Great ideas and tips thank you!! And I love your room behind you lol
Thank you :)
I have also purchased magnets from my home town or state , and put them in an envelope with an extra tip as a thank you.
All great ideas!! Thanks so much, Tiffany.
Thank you so much my friend :)
Awesome video! Very helpful- thank you 🛳🌴❤️
The blue & white clips, take extra because they break kind of easily. (Either that or I’m too rough with them). 😂
I cruise and haven’t found self laundry in years. What line still has laudatory? Thanks
I’m taking notes! Thank you!
I wrote. Medicine Bag on mine.
with the travel bottles i found that they like to leak i just put some plastic between bottle and cap
That’s a great idea 💕
@@TiffanyDawnMad4Makeup I have 4 kids I am going to put threw college. I am a penny pincher :)
shower caps for your shoes.
That is a great idea! thank you so much for sharing :)
Great tips 👍
Thank you so much Brandy :)
Great video. Beautiful eyes too
I used to always shop dollar tree for vacation items but I’ve found at times the first aid and travel items are cheaper at Target or Walmart
cheaper than a dollar???
This is typically only the time when you are carrying restricted or narcotic prescriptions. They also allow pictures of the label
We used a tea light instead of a night light. 2 for $1 at Dollar Tree
