I normally buy used and repair them, and i have a very good eye on detecting fakes, but i got a fake controller that amazed me, they even did a copy of the small plastic parts inside, i was completely blown away by the detail of the fake to the point that they even copied the battery to be grey with hard plastic enclosure, which it already started to look inflated, and not safe as it is a fire risk. The bad thing about the controller are the 3d analog sticks, they are not 3d, and when you move them a little bit they max out very easly. If those 3d analog sticks were more similar to the originals then i would have no problem on using the fake controller, without the crap battery of course.
I have three PS4 DS4's. One OG V2 and two brandless AliExpress aftermarket. TLDR; After modding they feel more premium than an OG DS4. One is clear with RGB, hall effect joysticks that are super smooth, programmable back buttons and the whole thing feels more premium than an OG. The only thing I didn't like was the feeling of the thumb stick caps, but I took the sticks out of the second aftermarket, a fake PS5 DualSense that works on PS4 whose sticks are the only thing that were not very close to the real DualSense but I actually like their feel better, the rubber feels almost like between a DS3 and DS4. The R2 sping snapped so I needed to replace it and the bottom edge of the triggers is hard and sharp against my finger which leaves a red mark, so at the moment I'm using blutac and I'm thinking to try hot glue. The rear has screw holes at either side of my palm which I also don't like and filled it with blutac for now. In spite of this it feels more premium to hold and use. The other controller is a fake PS5 DualSense designed to work with the PS4. That one I performed a full shell replacement, buttons, membrains and all with the closest looking and feeling replica I could find to make it even more authentic and give it the texture on the back. Although I have serviced the left joystick and fixed it substantially there is still a bit of dead zone. So I have ordered hall effect replacement joysticks. It too will end up feeling much better than a DS4 and cheaper than the real DualSense or even the adapter I needed to connect it to a PS4 that didn't even support wireless or the touchpad. These controller work amazing with the PS4, ironically the only place where they are subpar for me is on Android where I use the trackpad to click on anything I have not mapped in games like Genshin/HSR. On Android and Windows the trackpad is not as good as the original. The bluetooth is also somehow weaker as well when paired with Android yet somehow perfect on PS4. So even though I originally bought them for Android I ended up using the OG DS4 on Android and the aftermarket DS4's on PS4/PC. Because the DS4 still has value for me on Android I will be modding it too to make it feel more premium now that I have a new benchmark. The terrible microusb is one thing I intend to replace with USB-C for starters.
I bought one too I have a question. I bought it for fortnite but it doesn't work gyro i test on some app name game test controller but there too it doesn't show gyro sensor. Is it normal?
@@parthpatel9738 if you're on PC Windows I highly recommend DS4Windows. On my aftermarket DS4's gyro is being read and can be configured there. You can also overclock the poling rate of the controller which should improve the latency.
I'm pretty sure it is, but considering all of these are coming from China, Sony doesn't really have the resources to litigate against who knows how many factories illegally copying their controllers in the mainland.
Hello, I have a question, when using a Gamepad tester, does a fake controller show diferent names, vendor and produnct numbers? I tried with my controller, which I'm sure is genuine, and also with a friend's controller, and they both showed "Sony PS4 Dualshock Wireless Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD Vendor: 054c Product: 09cc)" (I suppose Vendor and Product number will differenciate between models...) but I was wondering how we could use this informations to spot a fake one just by testing it.
What Gamepad Tester are you using? I don't think you can be sure by Vendor and Product numbers. I have a separate video about how to spot a fake by appearance, did you watch it? Once you see that video, it's pretty easy to spot fakes. It usually takes me less than 20 seconds to tell if a controller is fake or not
I just bought a PS4 controller from eBay and I never knew that there were people selling fakes. I was playing GTA Online tonight and the weapon wheel was just going crazy thrn I realized that I wasted $34 bucks on a fake controller. I should've just went to GameStop and paid $60 for a new controller. I was trying to save money but then again, I had no idea there were fakes out there.
I’d say it’s about the budget that you have and where you live since in vietnam a used genuine jds-055 dualshock 4 will go around for about 26$ (and cheaper with the jds-030 and older) and there’s definitely an plus if you buy the genuine ds4 which is modding since it’s easier to identify which model your controller is and you 100% know the board you’re replacing is compatible with your controller and will run flawlessly
I have the exact supposed eu of yours but i don't have any problems. The battery seems to drain a bit fast but i will see when it fully drains. Gotta say, i got on the lucky side of fake controllers.
Great video bro I have a question did you test the battery as i bought fake one and the battery last for 2 hours but charge to 90% in half hour i don't know if it even bad or not
The pink-ish one still has the triangle, circle, cross and square symbols on it which are trademarked by sony, so even if it doesn't really have the logos, I would consider it replica. The aftermarket controllers (real ones) that have those symbols should be approved by sony as a third party accessory, otherwise they are still not genuine in my eyes.
Not sure about these fakes, but the no brand one I got a year ago has working gyro, touchpad, speaker and aux. I think as long as it's one based on the v2 ds4, it's likely to have those features unlike the older v1 clones.
@@Ballr00mBlitz may I know which version is japanese one or European version 2 ??... And how do u feel after using original controller can u find a difference... Thankyou for your comment...
I believe spotting a fake Dualshock 3 was very easy back a few years ago, identifying a fake or so called "copy" Dualshock 4 is very difficult these days, here I'm talking about an average user not those guys with master eyes lol.
HI i Need Ur help Is it same or does fake controlers Broke Soo easily. Look i brought fake contolrer And IT Broke IT in like 7days And i drop IT by accident by like Two times And when i wanted to play i had to camera issue u know stick drift Soo im really confused i think Its bcs Its fake cuz my reall controler survived for like 5years
As told in the video, not all the fakes are same, I've tested 3 different fakes and they were all different. A genuine controller should not have drifting after 7 days and should survive several falls without problems
The controller that looks like an Xbox controller I recommend it to Xbox players movin to ps it’s really good in my opinion I had the same one but it doesn’t work because of charging connected but everything is good
Hi my friend , thank you for this good video , but there s something missing , you should ve checked the weight of each controller , it will help a lot ! I will appreciate it if you drop a comment about that , not necessary a video . Thank you my friend again .
Good point! If you wanna know the weight for spotting a fake, I have a separate video for that. If you just think about the whole experience regarding its weight, they're all in the same range, maybe just few grams
Thanks for making these videos bro, I have a original ps5 but I still play more on the ps4 pro as I have so many games still 😅 but my controllers are starting to mess up and I’m worried I will buy a fake because it’s so hard to tell 😒
imagine combining all the best things from each fake into a Ultra Fake, which is as good as the genuine..
😂
Check out p4 plus gamepad 😂😂
It's a type c ps5 gamepad for ps4
That's Scary, actually i think i do. EU version but it doesn't have the issues you had on yours.@@YesterdaysTech

The playtime of a ps4 fake controller?
It Should be illegal to make and export fake controllers
