I've been drawing creatures from my favorite videogame, Ark. All the creatures are prehistoric or sci-fi. So I can get the shapes and shading but the textures are actually 3d skins. Not good for drawing and trying to make the drawing feel "alive". Texture reference images are helpful but do not help me learn how to get the look properly. This tiger is a great analog for thylacoleo, and your instruction is great. Thank you.
