- For well over 25 years I've been riding on Team Hyperlite and get to play a part in the shaping of my boards as well as the look/graphics. If you're looking for the board that gives you tons of pop and hang time off the wake with smooth landings, this board's for you! I also do a lot of coaching and want a board that not only allows me to go out and ride but can also be a super fun board for first timers. With a progressive 3 stage rocker, no flat spot, spoon belly, rolled toeside and heelside edges, tunneled tip and tail, this board boosts, glides on flat water, spins surface tricks, and most importantly, doesn't take advantage of your mistakes. Hi Shaun, Would you have any advice on first time wakeboarder, however I have been snowboarding for 10+ years(so know terminology- rockers etc.) I see Hyperlite has filters for(beginner, intermediate, advanced riders). Would someone with Snowboarding experience and "edge" awareness be able to pick up a Murray Pro board and be just fine? Thanks I'm 5'11 210lb at the moment but hoping whip myself into shape before next season, and get down to 180lb. Excited to ride! looking at 144 or should I size up? Also love the content!
Welcome to the sport Harrison! I actually put everyone on my board bc I believe the same physics apply to everyone. The only thing that can happen on my board is if you come from a board that has a lot of fin and bottom tracking features, my board can feel a little loose to some bc I run .8" fins. Just turned 40 and the knees are telling me it’s time for something bigger. I’m 6ft 3, 195, been riding 137-142 for the last 20 years. Do I go 144 or 150? The 150 really intrigues me but I don’t want to lose anything that I had with a smaller board.
For sure go up to the 150 at 6'3". Happy belated birthday, or actually happy early bday for next year:)
Shaun I have your 2022 board in a 150. I’m 200lbs 6ft. Starting to feel like the board is big for me. Should I grab a 144 or just stick with the 150?

I notice the clean wave switches sides depending on your approach direction. Is the boat driver steering slightly left/right or is the boat doing something with the surf gates?
the few boats I've ridden, assuming it's likely the same thing, that's just a natural occurrence from the pull of the rider applying more pressure on that side of the boat when the ballast is even
It cleans up on the side you are coming in on. I think if he were to ride directly behind the boat, both sides would look clean.
Lookin good! Are you favoring the 144 for your riding? I’ve maybe got ten pounds on you… my mainstay board from long ago is a Belmont 136 (black/orange with the Aztec looking dude). I’ve been riding a 139 that I like but thinking bigger feel. Just don’t like too wide of a stance. I’m maybe 5’9”.
In this video I'm riding my 144 but running the stance all the way narrow

It is not but you can set your stance up tail heavy if you'd like. I sometimes do when I ride the 144 Hyperlite Murray but ride is symmetrically when I ride my 139.

139 is way too small for you in my opinion and I think many others will agree. I'd suggest going up to the 150. You could ride the 144 but that's the board I'm riding in this video and I'm 5'6" 150lbs.
