In the looks department, she’s got all the bells and whistles that have long made her sister ship Nelson, an iconic addition to anyone’s Port, but how does it feel to command the new ship in battle? Where do her strengths and weaknesses lie? Does she handle the same as Nelson? Buckle up for our latest Gameplay video, where we utilize raw in-game clips from our players to give you all the answers.
I love how the ship's gimmicks reflect her performance on the hunt for Bismarck. The underwater torpedo tubes, althought rare for battleships in game, was a common sight by WW1 era, but Rodney was one of the few battleships to retain them by WW2. And the engine boost reflects the crew managing to push Rodney's old machinery above the designed speed of 23 knots.
You should consider buffing the Rodney's heal, whilst it can help repair the ship it pails in comparison to the Nelson's super heal. Especially as a brawler she needs to be able to stay healthy for more engagements.
1:50 And this timestamp is exactly whats wrong with randoms and why people want asymetric battles back. EVERYONE is hiding behind something and the only ones who die are the ones who actually try to interact with the stuff on their screens.
@@baly1252 Thats of course true. But this is still a problem. Both sides are camping most of the time. Sitting behind islands, kiting behind islands, going back and forth behind islands. Pushes are rare, agression is rare and rarely ever rewarded. Randoms has gotten stale years ago since its just a waiting game for both teams.
Why does Rodney use the same CAMO to nelson? by the way, there is a soviet quad 406mm gun (in 0:58) that appeared, will we see a soviet BB with such gun? Mir Korbali of Lesta has Admiral Lazarev with such gun, idk how WG use such gun for ship, a much brawl kremlin with quad 406 gun? interesting
The Nelson-class battleships have this configuration because of weight savings and in order to comply with the Washington Naval Treaty limits, while still keeping her 406mm main guns for power
Other nations had similar all forward setups to build ships more compact to make them at least look to be within the 35.000 ton treaty limit like the French Richelieu class. Even the US had a North Carolina design with the Nelson style turret arrangement, Iowa guns, insane belt armor (more than the Yamato) and 30.5 knot speed (search for North Carolina preliminary scheme D).

the HMS Rodney is the same battleship that participated the battle along with the HMS King George V To sink the German Battleship Bismarck
3:03 Ok, I know it's to show off her guns, but literally _anything_ can citadel Omaha.
so true lol
and if you are playing a Tier 7 BB, you rarely fight Omahas. Most of the time you run into Iowas instead.
@@balli7836so true :(
indeed, my 4~ inch destroyer gun is usually enough for that job

So Rodney gets torpedoes, engine boost, and Nelson gets Conqueror level heals... I guess that evens out?
i'm loving the topographic lines and effects
it's so sick
Had an eight kill, 216k damage match in her last I took her out.
That pegi12 💀
Err, how do you get Rodney? I don’t see it in the store
Rodney is available in the Premium Shop for direct purchase and in the D-Day containers
@@WorldofWarshipsOfficialChannel strange, I don’t see it in the shop. Will it be appearing later or is some kind of error occurring?
@@Anglomachian its in the premium shop you can only see from the website not from the armory or in game.
@@manasenri5136 ah quite. I so infrequently but ships I forget there’s a distinction between those two. Thank you

How about you don't sail full broadside to a battleship at 2km while in a cruiser

RMS Aquitania at the beginning of the video?
Lol I thought it was Lusitania before her funnels were painted black

Nelson is currently available inside of D-Day containers
Great video! This ship looks fun to play in. ty!!!
Make some updates to get the game more diverse. Just dumping ships isn't it.
We had like 7 different game modes this year with a few new mechanics.
Even clan battles got new gameplay mechanics.
We added 2 different operations in this update...
Add some extra maps and use the ocean map more. Just battling, no hiding... New game mode maybe.

but Nelson, doesn't have a speed boost, and i don't remember if she have torpedoes too, so i guess it's fair
