- Happy Easter!
Finally these iconic elevators are now working again! These were taken out of service in 2022 for a "facelift" which worried me a bit to the point that some elevator enthusiasts thought that these would be modernized or replaced. The entire shaft was boarded off. Turns out that they only repainted the shafts without altering the whole elevators...phew.
Now these elevators boast a gold colored steel structures while retaining the original features, including the custom dial indicators which still work very well (saved for a few burnt out lamps). Honestly I prefer the previous green color theme but this is still nice anyway. The odd thing is that for some reason they didn't repaint the elevator cars as well, so it looks a little bit strange having two different color combination. Unfortunately they have since removed the old fountain on the 1st floor which was my favorite spot to sit and wait when I was a kid.
Other minor change here is that the down call button on the 1st floor has been removed since the basement has been disabled in these elevators. At some point, the basement was temporarily unlocked to facilitate quicker access from the parking lot as the basement side of Metro department store (where former Hero supermarket used to occupy) was closed for renovation and eventually turned into a retail area. The only way to go down there now is through either Metro or Sogo.
Note that these elevators are NOT MRL. They're bottom drive traction with the machine room located on the basement just next to the shafts. There are reflector sheaves on the top of the shafts which divert the cables from the car top all the way down to the machine room. Ride quality was very excellent and smooth, who wouldn't complain about Mitsubishi's diamond quality? This shows how very good the management is taking care of their elevators.

These are confirmed to be GPS?
Also, I suspect these are ~1000kg/15 persons, but can't be certain about that. No idea why these don't have a capacity badge on them
Yes. GPS has small squarish indicator and big buttons.
These are indeed GPS. The model could also be a bottom drive type where the machine room is on the bottom most floor next to the shaft(s). In fact; two of the seven Mitsubishi traction elevators I filmed in Oslo, Norway are GPS bottom drive traction.
By the size of them I think it's too big for 15/1000. My guess could be 20/1350 or smth, but I don't know.
Why not down to B?
That floor is disabled. I've stated that on the description.
Even disregarding that, the B button being replaced with a presumably non functional metallic blank would have made going there impossible anyway. I do question the decision not to have easy carpark access from the main lifts, but perhaps there is a good reason.
