Kalamazoo's answer to Fridays With Frank. You guys could probably do without the beginning disclaimer, but then again, lawyers always like lots of language. Keep it up, you'll get a lot more views.
While it does sound like it should've been a "Failure to Stop for Stop Sign" violation, a driver CAN get a "Failure to Yield Right-of-Way" violation at a Stop sign, but "yield" doesn't mean what you think it means. Many people think "yield" means to arbitrarily "slow down," but it means to allow cross-traffic to proceed, which could mean to slow down... or to even stop... if there is cross-traffic. Per Michigan Code 257.649(8), a Stop sign requires 2 things: 1) Stop... and 2) Yield to cross-traffic. A driver must stop... then yield to any cross-traffic. If a driver fails to stop altogether, it's "Failure to Stop." If a driver stops, then pulls out when it affects cross-traffic, then it's "Failure to Yield." Per Michigan Code 257.649(6), a Yield sign also requires 2 things: 1) Slow down... and 2) Yield to cross traffic. Note that each requires what the sign says (Stop sign: stop; Yield sign: yield), but there is an additional requirement for each (Stop sign: yield; Yield sign: slow down) (since "yield" does NOT mean to slow down, they added the provision to slow down to make it clear). So, the fact that the driver in the video slowed down as they went through the Stop sign doesn't mean that they "yielded" -- to yield would be to allow the right-of-way to cross-traffic, and I didn't hear any mention of any cross-traffic involved. They just slowed down as they went through, which, as the Officer mentioned, WOULD be acceptable at a Yield sign... if there was no cross-traffic to "yield" to. To further reinforce (beyond the general definition of "yield" 😉 ) that "yield" does not mean to arbitrarily "slow down," my state's Yield sign statute does not even require drivers to slow down when approaching a Yield sign, so, if a driver approaches a Yield sign and there is no cross-traffic, that driver can proceed past the Yield sign without even slowing down... as if there was no sign of any kind there. Drivers are only required to "yield" to other traffic. [Wisconsin State Statute 346.18(6) ]
Roddie has the Mary Poppin's bag of patrol cars. Ive never seen one with so much gear. Every episode he seems to pull out something new. How does he fit it all in there?!
I hope people realize that "I'm running late" doesn't validate your actions. In fact, you are going to be even later if you get pulled over than if you just followed the laws in the first place. I'd rather tell my teacher or boss "sorry, I got caught in school zone traffic" than "Sorry I'm late, I got pulled over for speeding in a school zone."
It really worries me how many people's mothers take care of their adult children's insurance for them, especially those who have children themselves. I know things are much more expensive now, but If you're old enough to make another human, you should be old enough to take care of your own financial responsibilities
We had our kids until they were 25. They paid us but we were the policy holders. It was cheaper for them that way. I don't mind helping our kids but I'm not gonna outright just pay for it either.
4:32 “Are you licensed out of Michigan” was a dumb question to ask for a couple reasons: 1) With limited exceptions, the only people who can apply for a CPL are those who live in Michigan. 2) The DLN is literally printed on the CPL and is the EXACT SAME as the DL.
7:35 - "I want you two to be up front and do your SWAT stuff." LOL
Dude had the orange fit ready to go to jail 😂
the best
FIRST time I’ve seen him give anyone a warning without a ticket with it🤣

This department seems to be professional and kind. It’s nice to see.
That guy needs a ticket for that dodgers jacket
I find it hilarious that he wrote her to failure to yield, it seems ironic because she did yield, she failed to stop 😂😂😂

He was already for jail, look at that orange. He knew.
That man was very compliant a the end, bro didn’t resist or say anything
3:34 The first CPL holder on the channel!
I used to use that 'bulb in the package' trick for years. But that Lincoln? You coulda done it right there on the roadside.

it must be embarrassing to be arrested in your PJs
W officer 🖤💙😎
First dude sounds just like Cam Patterson lmao
Man that police shield is small. Not a lot of protection there.
digital license plates? wtf i could see that being a bad thing if you travel to an area that has never heard of that

But the CPL will not show any restrictions you might have on your license. My question is why you carry the one but not the other?
Bro how bout some warnings and education for the kids
