Secret trick I learned from an old friend gone away many years ago that seems to work well.... Use pickled herring from a jar and spice it up with WD-40. Instead of using lead weights cut up some rebar (cement support metal bars) and attach them to your line like a normal sinker with duct tape. Weight will break before the line does.
STOP GIVING AWAY IDAHO'S GREAT SECRETS!!!! 😁😁😁 If you're going after sturgeon, you need to use that boat you rented to get to the deep holes. You need a FAR BIGGER pole for sturgeon. And you're going to get a massive fine if you lift one out of the water. Read your regs

That sturgeon was all scarred up because it was a hatchery plant. Still a cool accomplishment
