So happy you're making good content that cuts through all the bullshit and gets deep in the weeds (where I like it). Also love the newscaster style editing with the sporadic camera change.
Thanks as always John. There is a seriously flawed quality control process with pickleball paddles. When a given paddle can be rougher on one side than the other and paddles that are supposed to be the same roughness are all different (re: the ones you received) there is a problem. I've experienced this same thing with other paddle manufacturers. I had one paddle that also had different roughness on each side and I purchased a Zane ProXR and it came with very little grit while a buddy of mine received one with crazy grit. Not only is this a problem because when you're paying almost $300 for a paddle there should be expectations of consistency but also one competitor should not get an advantage when they are using the same paddle model.
Love the reset distance test. I have been thinking that would be one of the more useful stats to have if you could build a solution for keeping the tests consistent. Thanks for the review John!
I agree - It seemed that balls were bouncing off the paddle faces in different directions, and sometimes not hitting the paddle's middle. Love the effort !!
You described it as being “suspended core”. That sounds better and is more descriptive than “framed core” to me. Enjoing the content!👍🏽👍🏽 love that you quantified the spin difference for the face grit issues.
The USAPA rule book for manufacturers from the EEC specifically has a clause that says any trampoline type mechanisms or any mechanisms at all inside the paddle are not permitted. The design doesn't work that way but if it did it wouldn't be legal. It certainly isn't doing what some of their videos for marketing are showing. But Joola so actually it might.
I think we have reached the point where speed of the ball generated by this paddle and the gearbox, may cause more injuries and new regulations on exit speeds as opposed to spin, grit, and deflection of a paddle that are the current standards to approve a paddle...love your reviews!!
Great video but $280 for another power paddle? Idk seems like the control isn’t really there with it if you’re below 4.0-4.5 from what I hear. I’m excited to hear from Nexus Pickleball and what they have coming soon.
I would be interested to see how this paddles durability is over time. If the flexing will cause issues with the core integrity or the bond between the new foam and the core could be damaged. If you are pro player you get a new paddle whenever you need. The rest of us can't buy a almost 300 paddle every few months.
Thanks for another in depth review. Please review the Coretek Alpha. It is supposed to be another "Gen 3" paddle and it would be awesome to see your analytical process and review for it.
I just received my coretek alpha paddle. I have not played with it a whole lot because of a foot injury but for the little bit I played, they seemed quite nice. The only bad thing I'd have to say is the grip is a really weird shape. Most grip are a bit rectangular with the long part going downward as you hold it so the wider part sits flat on the palm of your hand. Well this one is the opposite. You end up having the narrow part of the grip pallet on the palm of your hand. There's no way I could get used to that. I have never seen anything like that with a grip. I actually had to use a utility knife to cut some of the foam inside the grip to give it a better shape. It's better but not perfect. Feels very square and edgy now but better than the original
Just thought of another analogy for that second ring of U-shaped foam ... it's really similar to how the cone/driver in a loudspeaker is "suspended" by a flexible membrane to allow it to move back and forth.
I have Perseus 16mm going to Perseus Gen3 16mm. I have no doubt that its going to take thousands of balls to gain the feel/control to unleash all the power with accuracy.
Great work and a wealth of knowledge keep it up! 2 sessions in on a Joola Magnus 14mm and have core crush….a Gearbox Pro Power elongated lasted a week…what next, my Thomas Wilson CRBN face is wearing out, has held up well but looking for a replacement. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I actually don't think these are hiccups in current production but rather a history of being inconsistent with their paddles whether it be Edge guards roughness on one side to the other Etc. It's a pattern and why I will never buy another Joola paddle
There's way too much competition out there - but the prices are still high ? Something isn't right. It might backfire. I think Rafa from Gearbox told a story about a paddle they engineered a while back. Specs were great but he said that, because the customers didn't like how it sounded when hitting, it flopped on the market side.
Grateful for your Review. I played against people with these paddles. After Playing against them, I know if this is the new standard in power , I would give up playing Pickleball. I love Pickleball but with these paddles it is no longer pickleball. It's a new game. I don't enjoy being hit with a ball over and over. Joola and Gearbox are on the verge of destroying the Game from the inside out. Someone at my local park already got a detached Retina from these paddles. Yes eyewear, which i wear but This has gone to far. This could be the begin-ing of the End for Pickleball. Watching it on the PPA also is not fun, points are no longer enjoyable. What’s your thoughts on Ben and Colin not playing w actual Gen 3 paddles. You can clearly hear the difference between Tyson’s paddle and the johns paddles during last finals
I am currently playing with a Mach 1 Forza 16mm. I was really interested in the Mach 2 Forza. How would you compare the Mach 2 Forza 16mm vs the Scorpeus Gen 3 16mm? Seems like the Joola is similar but with the extra pop and power that may be lacking in the Mach 2 Forza.
Similar boat, but I play with a Six Zero Ruby. If you've watched Pickleball Effect's video on the Mach 2 Forza, it's quite lacking in power, but a great paddle nonetheless. The Mach 2 Forza probably needs some lead or tungsten tape to bring it to where one may like it as compared to other thermoformed non-standard shaped paddles. If you watch PB Studio's video on these paddles, you'll have your answer. Even the 16mm Scorpeus hits like a truck as compared to current paddles making it comparable to the Gearbox Pro Power. John's video here shows you how much of a challenge it could be to reset as some of these paddles are popping off 20 inches (nearly 2 FEET!) on a simple block as compared to current paddles except the Gearbox. And I'm a player that isn't amazing at resets when going up against bangers and always think counter first. I'll want to test one out before committing to one.
The CJ Scorpeus and M2F are very different paddles. The CJ Scorpeus is the most conrtrol-oriented of the Gen-3 lineup, but it's still a power paddle. And the M2F is a control paddle. Have you played with the M2F yet? If you're coming from a M1F, you're right in between the M2F and CJ Scorpeus. So if you want to prioritize more control, the M2F would be your paddle. Or more power/pop: CJ Scorpeus.
@@johnkewpickleball I think we're overlooking the similarities a bit here. I think we could classify the Scorpeus as a power control paddle, but the swing weights across the new Gen 3 Joolas can be drastically different along with their sweet spots. How would we differentiate between the various Joola Gen 3s if we're classifying them all as power paddles? On a similar note: the dwell time with the trampoline effect seems to be more control-oriented than a Gearbox PPE it seems...
@johnkewpickleball perfect! Thanks for your response. The M1F has never left me wishing for more power or pop. I think I am going to hold off on these G3 paddles. Maybe try a Shapeshifter at some point to compare against the M1F. I have not hit with the M2F yet. I think it would be a great doubles paddles. Especially for players that naturally hit hard.
Yikes! I am just a 50 something womens 4.25ish DUPR and play with the softest of soft control paddles 16 mm Diadem 18k. I had scaled back from my legacy and CRBN to the 18k for better control, but today I played with a demo Tyson 16 mm with 3 grams of lead tape right at each shoulder for 3 straight hours bc I was playing lights out and could not put it down! I’ve never felt so immediately great about a demo paddle before! As the pro at the club said, as long as you’re careful to brush back of ball and play somewhat slower swing with a lot of topspin the paddle is easy enough to control. As more of a control player I was really surprised by the power it gave me without sacrificing too much control and I felt like I could wield it at the net so well. Now I’m just hoping the one I bought plays like the demo and does not become more poppy with play as the demo suggest. I am now a little freaked by the bounce test. I have passed on Kevlar Mark kinetic paddle mainly bc I couldn’t keep midcourt resets soft and low enough and it just felt heavy even though same 8 ounce weight. I didn’t seem to have too much trouble resetting decently hard shots at feet from midcourt with the Tyson but it was obviously not quite as easy as maybe it is with the soft control 18k. That said, all paddles maybe take some adjusting to and I’m pretty excited about how this one impacted my play today. Almost wish I had not watched the review😜
I did and played with the new Magnus I bought today and loving it! If you remember to just slow your swing a bit and hit everything with even just a little topspin you’ll be amazed at what goes in! And I still had awesome touch on dinks too! I’ve played with a lot of paddles and have not felt like anything was such a game changer in terms of power and still with such great touch and spin capabilities.
Great review of these paddles. Looks like I will be waiting to see about the durability of these paddles with regards to their grit for spin and the break in period for increased power and my control. Thank you.

Same here. This is why I am considering getting a proton paddle
Sounds like you might need to put together a dedicated rig to test static paddle ball rebound. If distance is difficult maybe speed(with speed gun) or height. Many ways to skin the cat. Mythbusters found velocity was more consistent launching projectiles from a pressurized air cannon for instance. Meanwhile data on ball speed + paddle head speed in common situations could be handy in selecting ball speed for static paddle tests.
John, the real question on all new paddles is NOISE. I assume the 14mm are ones that wouldn't be allowed in most communities. Please include a measurement of Hrz and Db on the paddles you are testing. For pickleball to continue in many areas, the noise has to be controlled with the Hrz at 600 or below and the Db around 800 or less. I know they won't be as much fun to play with at first, but the same thing happened in tennis.
Interesting - my impression is that these are less noisy than traditional PP paddles. The tone is definitely lower/less pingy. But I'd like to test the Db to see
John, is the Scorpeus handle actually 5.25 inches? The current Scorpeus models have a 5.5 inch handle despite being marketed as 5.25 inch. If you measure a Scorpeus against a Perseus, they have the same handle length. Is that also true for these new paddles?
John, thank you for beautiful content. In one of your podcasts a couple of weeks ago, you mentioned Chorus Shapeshifter. Are you going to release a full review on it?
I ordered the 16mm Perseus, what do you think about adding lead tape? I’m coming from a CRBN 3X 14mm and have been putting a 3 gram strip at 4 & 8 o’clock. Thank you for the great review, John, and keep em coming!! 🥊
I’d say start with the paddle stock, and then play around with lead tape. I haven’t found the need to lead up the 16mm Perseus yet, but it might work for you
You accidentally called the Perseus the Hyperion during the middle of the video 😭 and once near the end too. Would be pretty confusing for someone who didn’t catch on
@@ryanedward7508 like he said at the beginning of the video, he hasn’t received the new hyperions to review yet though. He said early in the video he’d review the hyperions at a later date when he received them. None of the reviewers have them yet. Pickleball studio said the same thing in his video. Also, if you look closely, when he’s saying Hyperion, the graphic on the screen says Perseus. Because he’s talking about the Perseus. So actually you’re wrong.
Yes, I was recording at 2AM because I wanted to get all my ducks in a row with the production model paddles that arrived the day before the launch. Turns out my brain doesn't function as well without sleep, ha
Best reviewer! John, are the production16mm perseus 3, the paddles you measured at 2400rpm? I am concerned the production paddles will not live up to the alpha verion.
The metrics I presented here were on the production models. But like I said, things seemed to be wonky with the grit on my production paddles. I doubt they'll consistently get over 2,300 RPM
Woooah what is up with the handle at 5:18 - the core is super non-uniform and seems to break through the foam all the way to the outer wall surface. Could you feel that before you took it apart, or was it just too hard from thermoforming?
I didn't feel anything wonky with the paddle before it was dissected. It looks like the edge foam seam got messed up a bit during the layup/thermoforming
John, are they using the same carbon fiber as the previous models? Considering how much damage to the CF was shown after just a few months of playing, hopefully they are using a superior grade on the Gen 3’s. Especially with this price point.
Obviously I'm in the market for a pickleball paddle. I started with an elongated graphite/carbon paddle that came in a set with balls and carry case. TBH, I advanced very quickly with this paddle and never felt like I was playing with a "cheap" paddle ($59 CAN$ for the set). I'm only looking for a new paddle because I have some minor wrist pain and I think a lighter paddle may prevent it from worsening. Then again, it could just be my technique, which is another thing altogether. What strikes me is that these paddles (especially once you see what's inside) can in no way be worth anywhere near what they're sold for. I think the paddle companies are chuckling all the way to the bank. How else does one company afford to sponsor not just one but five pros? The magic is in the technique, not in the technology. Although happy to watch your review (and many others) in a way you're just feeding the hype. These paddles are worth $50 tops, tech and all. Unless they put a motor in one of these. The rest of the money you pay for a "premium" paddle is spent hyping these things up. What I want to know are what the swing weight and twist weights are, maybe some of these companies can spend some money printing that on the paddles.
You're an idiot. Yes, the cost of good sold for a totally serviceable paddle is around $15. But clearly the data speaks for itself - these paddles as well as the new Gearbox are in a league of their own in terms of the power you can generate. They are many mph higher than the best paddles that don't have the same extra design features. That has a huge effect when you're standing 14 feet away from the person hitting the ball at you. OBVIOUSLY the player's skill is far more important than the paddle. Ben Johns could beat me with a spatula. But for comparable players, paddles can certainly make a noticeable difference.
Great review John!! Have you heard of any more reasonably priced paddle companies coming out with a power paddle soon? Like Ronbus, Vatic or Bread and Butter? Thanks!!
Most companies seem to be working on power cores, but so far, Gearbox and Joola have the most power/pop combo. I've played with one other prototype that comes close, though (can't name it right now)
@@johnkewpickleball I see Vatic just announced pre sales May 1 on the Oni. Their sales video makes the core look very similar to the Gearbox. Have you had a chance to hit with it yet? I’m wondering what the swing weight, spin, power and pop of Prism shape will be. Thank you John!
These look really nice. Thing is more n more paddles are headed to $300+ ?? Is a $500/ paddle in our future?? I'm really glad to see cooler designs and colors coming out but they gotta play well. I'm REALLY glad I found my paddle co. That's Carbon fiber, wicked fast, plenty of power, made in U.S.A. n under $200... These big name brands are paying top $$ for pros to use their products, we get to "subsidize" the process with higher prices... No different from any other sport really just business/not personal. Tyson is not getting any younger, and he's currently 10th in standings I saw... Joola paid PLENTY to get him to come over. I hope it works.. Nice video...
The new Gen 3 are overprice and not very good quality. Quality Control is terrible Customer service forget it !!!! The Scorpious 14mm Ana Bright dimensions are 153/4 by 7.5 w not 16x 8 wide. The floating cord is cracking already!!!! do not buy till they fixed all those problems Sorry John for your review!!!
The specs of the 16mm Scorpeus just seem incredible compared to the other options. Low swing weight, highest twist weight, power a hair below the 16mm Perseus and pop a hair below the 14mm Scorpeus? Seems like a no brainer for best doubles paddle unless I'm missing something.
With an extensive aerospace background, I can definitely say these paddles will break in a different way than the gen 2. I have destroyed hundreds of carbon and foam prototype products for US military applications, and don't understand how these paddles can be made with a good conscience...
Not sure on the Hyperion yet, but they're arriving in the next day or two, so I'll find out soon, But if you're willing to go with a standard shape, the Scorpeus has lower swing weights
@@johnkewpickleball I am an aggressive player who likes the elongated/hybrid shape, but I don't tolerate heavy paddles well, that's why I wanted to know if the hyperion was somewhat lighter than the perseus, I can't find that information anywhere :(
your set up for testing the rebound of the ball using the ball machine is what softball bat organizations use to test batted ball speed for new bats to max sure they pass maximum speed tests....this test may become the new norm for pickleball paddles as SPEED is going to affect the game more than other factors of the newer paddle....i think you should just standardize your testing method and give it another go....make a jig to hold the paddle like you did and just figure out a standardized propulsion method for ball delivery... in the softball and baseball bat testing, they use a ball cannon fired at 70MPH and measure the exit speed of the ball...if it exceeds a certain speed (usually 98-100 mph)it is deemed passing or failing.....whoever though a swing weight and twist weight machine would ever become a standardized measurement that is used throughout the testing community???....great job John and keep up the good work
I think it's Braydon's gun / Pickleball Effects. I think he spent the extra for the upgrade. It's the Stalker Pro S3. Your for a cool 2850.00. For that cheese I'm going to Jordan B's immersive...
I'm intrigued by these extended dwell time power paddles that use foam to create a trampoline effect. So much so I've ordered a CoreTek Alpha. At 8.5 oz. with a swing weight of 127 it may take some getting used to.
They're definitely different (DBD vs. Joola Gen-3s). Joolas are springier, and a softer feel than the DBD. Overall, the DBD will be easier to control, and the Joolas will have way more power/pop
Can we get a breakdown on why somebody would choose one Gen 3 Joola paddle over a different Gen 3 Joola paddle? Ex: perseus v Hyperion v Scorpeus v magnus
The spin variability between paddles where they should be close is concerning. The variability between the sides of a single paddle seems unacceptable. I think I’ll wait…

Great review of these paddles. Looks like I will be waiting to see about the durability of these paddles with regards to their grit for spin and the break in period for increased power and my control. Thank you.
Same here. This is why I am considering getting a proton paddle
I'd buy a proton if it had a longer handle. @
Great review as always
Interesting - I just double checked the production models and the Scorpeus handles are a quarter inch shorter than the Perseus
@@johnkewpickleball thank you so much for your reply!
John, thank you for beautiful content.
In one of your podcasts a couple of weeks ago, you mentioned Chorus Shapeshifter. Are you going to release a full review on it?
Hi, yes, I do plan to review the Shapeshifter
How can this paddle be both compliant with the requirements (no spring like mechanisms) and yet function like a trampoline or diving board?
I ordered the 16mm Perseus, what do you think about adding lead tape? I’m coming from a CRBN 3X 14mm and have been putting a 3 gram strip at 4 & 8 o’clock. Thank you for the great review, John, and keep em coming!! 🥊
I’d say start with the paddle stock, and then play around with lead tape. I haven’t found the need to lead up the 16mm Perseus yet, but it might work for you
I just played with the Perseus 16mm and I immediately added 16g of lead .. it is super poppy
Is the anna bright scorpius a good paddle for 3.5 tennis player w 2 handed backhand?
is this paddle considered Elongated? the green 14mm hyperion
Yall should check out the GAMMA Airbender, it plays incredibly and isn't super overpriced
What are you sandwich cutting these with? That’s a clean cut. Hope you continue with that as it’s really informative.
I actually hired a shop to do it. But they showed me how, and I'll try it. It's a type of hand saw, and the paddle is put on a frame to hold it
to get a thin controllable kerf, possibly a Japanese pull saw. Those things are wicked. That's my guess and I'm sticking to it.
I initially thought a type of band saw. Hope to see the process in a future video. But then everyone will start doing it.
band saw would do it
Great review.
You accidentally called the Perseus the Hyperion during the middle of the video 😭 and once near the end too. Would be pretty confusing for someone who didn’t catch on
No. You’re wrong. There’s a Hyperion gen 3 in the rounded head shape. It’s Simone’s signature paddle shape
@@douglasmurdoch7247 ah. No
@@ryanedward7508 ?
Yes, I was recording at 2AM because I wanted to get all my ducks in a row with the production model paddles that arrived the day before the launch. Turns out my brain doesn't function as well without sleep, ha
The HYPE
Great stuff, John.
Yeah I’m good the pop is too much for me lol I was wondering why Ben and fed kept missing drops and resets in the last few tournaments.
Ben isn’t using this paddle he’s still using old one. It’s just a paint job
Paddles look like toys. The alpha looks great! I was actually tryna get one like that.
John, is there a difference between the Ben Johns Hyperion3 16mm and the Simone Jardim Hyperion3 16mm (other than the signature and color)?
Best reviewer! John, are the production16mm perseus 3, the paddles you measured at 2400rpm?
I am concerned the production paddles will not live up to the alpha verion.
The metrics I presented here were on the production models. But like I said, things seemed to be wonky with the grit on my production paddles. I doubt they'll consistently get over 2,300 RPM
Suspended or cantilever core? I’d thought the second is more appropriate for the spring board design.
Ummmm keep doing that test with the ball machine I found that very insightful
John, are they using the same carbon fiber as the previous models? Considering how much damage to the CF was shown after just a few months of playing, hopefully they are using a superior grade on the Gen 3’s. Especially with this price point.
As far as I know, they haven't changed the source of the carbon fiber
I am curious as to longevity of the new design. We will see.
Really like the Magnus, but I'm worried about too much power with it.
Do you think the new Colin Johns paddle has about the same control as the LUXX?
No, the Scorpeus 3 hits much harder than the Luxx, and is harder to control
Wait, do I spy the usage of drum equipment as a brace for the paddles when doing the new test? Very clever.
Yep! DW tom stand - only the best
Good review as always, which one is your favorite and do you see yourself maining it?
Not sure yet - the Collin, Anna, and Perseus 16 are currently in rotation, but I don't have any intention to switch as a main
@@johnkewpickleball What's your main?
15:30 keeps me from populating my credit card info at checkout. Maybe next year.
Joola cuts corners by not using Toray carbon fiber. Faces wear out fast.
So what paddlel do you like that you mention is under 200?
Hudef viva pro gen2 paddle. Nice! @@jen-freedom-and-peace
Any estimate on when promo code might come available on the Gen 3's?
Joola spin wears down faster than a pencil eraser
Does anyone know the model number of the gun they used to read the 2600 rpm? At 7:30 in the vid
At 17:19 you said Ben John Hyperion 16 the extreme end of power do you mean the Perseus?
Yes, I meant to say Perseus there
How would you compare Tyson’s new paddle to his Selkirk counterpart, power air invekta? Thanks
The Magnus is much more forgiving than the Power Air Invikta, with a larger sweet spot and softer feel
Is giving findings on preproduction paddles legit information to consumers while production models can vary from pre?
All of the metrics and data I presented are from the production models
The specs of the 16mm Scorpeus just seem incredible compared to the other options. Low swing weight, highest twist weight, power a hair below the 16mm Perseus and pop a hair below the 14mm Scorpeus? Seems like a no brainer for best doubles paddle unless I'm missing something.
I think the lower spin numbers are interesting, but I wonder if that is more QC
At least for drives, I feel it's easier to plow through a ball with an elongated paddle compared to the Scorpeus.
@@kabnis2022 you would think, but he got basically the same serve speed for the scorpeus and perseus
@@jordanplayspickle i hope so. not sure why it would be that much lower vs the 14mm. either way it's still top tier
I have been playin with and have been really happy with the performance of the Legacy Pro. Would the Magnus be the most comparable to the Legacy
With an extensive aerospace background, I can definitely say these paddles will break in a different way than the gen 2. I have destroyed hundreds of carbon and foam prototype products for US military applications, and don't understand how these paddles can be made with a good conscience...
Hi JONHN!! for my game that swing weight is very high, will the 16mm hyperion be more maneuverable than the 16mm perseus?
Not sure on the Hyperion yet, but they're arriving in the next day or two, so I'll find out soon, But if you're willing to go with a standard shape, the Scorpeus has lower swing weights
@@johnkewpickleball I am an aggressive player who likes the elongated/hybrid shape, but I don't tolerate heavy paddles well, that's why I wanted to know if the hyperion was somewhat lighter than the perseus, I can't find that information anywhere :(
your set up for testing the rebound of the ball using the ball machine is what softball bat organizations use to test batted ball speed for new bats to max sure they pass maximum speed tests....this test may become the new norm for pickleball paddles as SPEED is going to affect the game more than other factors of the newer paddle....i think you should just standardize your testing method and give it another go....make a jig to hold the paddle like you did and just figure out a standardized propulsion method for ball delivery... in the softball and baseball bat testing, they use a ball cannon fired at 70MPH and measure the exit speed of the ball...if it exceeds a certain speed (usually 98-100 mph)it is deemed passing or failing.....whoever though a swing weight and twist weight machine would ever become a standardized measurement that is used throughout the testing community???....great job John and keep up the good work
You have a radar gun that measures spin?! Gimme a link!
I think it's Braydon's gun / Pickleball Effects. I think he spent the extra for the upgrade. It's the Stalker Pro S3. Your for a cool 2850.00. For that cheese I'm going to Jordan B's immersive...
@@PKB-AG Agreed.
Whats the sound like from these paddles? Is it similar to the gearbox muted sound?
Yes, the sound is more hollow and muted, similar to the Gearbox. Kind of in between traditional polypropylene paddles and the Gearbox
Sounds to me like paddle makers have just monetized the core corruption effect (trampoline effect).
I call it a “pre-crushed core”
Excellent video. Please leave the clicking noises out on your next one.
You say you got the highest serve with the Hyperion yet show a Perseus spec chart with the Magnus image. Nice
Thanks for the heads up. It was a FCP glitch that I thought I had cleaned up. But I just clipped that out with the TH-cam editor.
Teamwork makes the dream work
How did these paddles compared to the vice paddle
Similar power, and more pop with the Joolas
Is the serve he does at 7:41 even legal? Looks like it is well above his waist level..
Yes I definitely got high with that serve
Joola's website is literally crashing at the checkout😂
🙌 good stuff John
First comment since the ban! The answer is…… NO!!!!!
I'm intrigued by these extended dwell time power paddles that use foam to create a trampoline effect. So much so I've ordered a CoreTek Alpha. At 8.5 oz. with a swing weight of 127 it may take some getting used to.
Swing weight is too high
How was the grip shape on your alpha? Mine was awfully weird. Had to cut/trim it.
Love my 6.0 Double Black Diamond for control. How do you think it compares to a broken in Gen 3?
They're definitely different (DBD vs. Joola Gen-3s). Joolas are springier, and a softer feel than the DBD. Overall, the DBD will be easier to control, and the Joolas will have way more power/pop
Naaah… I’ll stick with my Gearbox Pro Power and Control… I don’t really see an interesting jump in technology with those Joolas to justify that price
Unless they're quality control beats Gearboxes which is widely known to be shit for their latest releases.
Love my GB Pro Control
Can we get a breakdown on why somebody would choose one Gen 3 Joola paddle over a different Gen 3 Joola paddle? Ex: perseus v Hyperion v Scorpeus v magnus
Good idea for a future video
Joola QC 😂
What’s with the wood blocks in the background?
I’m here just to know how to pronounce JOOLA.
Damn, we need a damn PhD to play pickleball these days
The spin variability between paddles where they should be close is concerning. The variability between the sides of a single paddle seems unacceptable. I think I’ll wait…
Agree. Different grit per side on a $280 paddle = bad
Typical joola but they have the increased their warranty to 12 months I won't buy one
Joola pride. Lol.
Jonathan, you made the correct decision to wait....
Warning: core crushing
These paddles just got banned for real. 😂
Even your own comments don’t support the legalities of the products.
Players should generate the power not the paddle.
usapa isnt approving the paddle, dead on arrival product from a shady company that sells chinesium with awful quality control
It was already approved on 12/30/2023.
