Fx were one of the most successful 2nd Gen groups. It's just that they came out when kpop still was not big in the western countries yet. It wasn't until late 2nd gen/ early 3rd Gen that kpop was gaining traction in the west.

No, they were trailblazer and pioneers. Groups nowadays look at them and wanna copy the blueprint. If they came out today, they would just be another copy and past kpop group, they wouldn’t have half of the success they achieved in 2nd gen. What they did in their time was incredible. As the commenter above me said, they were just at their peak when kpop wasn’t big in the western world, but they were still iconic and solidified themselves as legends.
