I actually mostly play the jaw harp on my lips. I can easily play it on my teeth just sounds better on my lips. This one particular one my favourite not all of them I should note.
Dan moi harps are played between the lips and don't touch your teeth at all. They are also much lighter to strum/pluck. All the ones I have are also very sharp though and less sturdy than the kind you play on your teeth. It isn't really a problem for the most part. Just be careful with the inner part of that reed

This Khou Xian really have an amazing sound that almost sounds "ahead of it time", almost like modern electronic music tunes.

Pronounce them together swiftly as one sound, one syllable. Kou on the other hand is definitely not "Koo". It's like "co" in "co-worker". Kou (口) refers to mouth, and Xian (弦) refers to string or in this case, harp. There is a very very mild "sh" sound in the x, but the way the teeth, lips, and tongue work together to make the "sh" sound in "x" versus the English "she" is vastly different. It is more like the a small hissing sound made with the teeth in the normal position (meaning, don't place the edges of your teeth together as that makes a hard "s" sound). Note that each character is pronounced as one syllable.

We have something like it where I’m from but ours is strictly rhythmic( one tone) and called “mun-jiga” loosely translated as mouth jigg. It has a nice viking-y, folksy sound to it. I’m glad it has a big brother half across the world lol

Minor correction….it is “morsing” and the artist usually plays alongside the Mridangam artist in carnatic music - South Indian classical music
Morsing would be the South Indian version while Morchang would be the version from Rajasthan, India.

@Phone_savor I'd say it is less “sh” and more “ss”. You can use google translate to check the pronunciation for Xian. It's accurate enough :)
