I am Ghanaian moving back home with the proceeds of the sale of one of the two houses my husband and I own here in the US to build our house in Ghana . The reality is that I am moving back with about the equivalent of 40 times what my relatives in Ghana earn in a year , most of whom have degrees and good jobs by Ghanaian standards !If I had moved to America with 40 time's what the average American earns in a year which is about $60,000 I would have arrived with millions ! I cannot minimize the advantage the strong dollar is giving me in moving back and helping family and friends ! Yes it is great to live in Ghana !

Interesting. You can sell a home (and land) "you own" in the U S. I just heard you lease land in Ghana 50 or 99 years. When you own (home and land in U S) you create generational wealth for your kids or family. Interesting!

Bodleys God bless you for sharing your wonderful testimonial. I would love to meet you both to shake your hand. I share a similar story in the fact that my home in Ghana came about as a result of God's plan. I was prophesied to that I would have property in Ghana and everything fell into place after that. I was born in the UK to Jamaican parents and my husband is Ghanaian. We have 2 beautiful daughters and it's my great joy to know that it was not just our desire to have a home in our beloved Ghana but it was God's. Hopefully we will share our testimonial for those who want to know but I agree with every word the Bodley's have said. Obviously every has different circumstances but their guidance is sound. We come home twice a year now as I cannot tolerate winters..and cold weather. But it's more than that Ghana is home 🏡. I too checked my ancestry which confirmed my dna is Ghanaian and other parts of the continent but even if it didn't I love Ghana and cannot wait to settle for good xx

Unfortunately, We Have Puppet Heads of State IN Positions of Power, Governed and Monitored by The IMF, World Bank, Multinational Corporations, etc. Regardless, WE (Afrikans) Globally, Must Work Together In Creating A Sustainable Future for OURSELVES That Mirrors Afrikan Centeredness IN ALL Areas of Peoples' Activities!!!

✊🏿America needs to be honest with itself, the founding fathers never envisioned a diverse nation where people lived in racial harmony. They just wanted to get away from England and its Monarchy rules, they wanted a Europe in America minus a King's foot on their necks. If you dont believe me go to the Naturalization act of 1790 by the first U.S. President and first U.S. Congress and look at the only people allowed to become U.S. Citizens.
This stayed law until the 14th ammendment in 1868, an admendment Trump has vowed to get rid of when he takes office. The goal has always been a homegenous country of Europeans.
Even Abraham Lincoln said in 1862 to free people of African descent in the northern states, when slavery is over European Americans will never see you as equals, and he also said that all people of African descent should leave America for their own good and those of his own race.
Lincoln said to those who did not want to leave, that even the people on his side would not want them to stay if their whole population was free! They dont teach this in school but Lincoln writings are availble for all to see. It gave me a more pessimitic view of things because we have been living a lie so long!
Every man made attempt to alter inequality for minorities like DEI/Affirmitive action have only created problems, (as Lincoln Forewarned), and or false preceptions, because the majority will not cede benefits/priveliges of being in a majority status!
Trump is only doing the will of the forefathers, we as minorities need to accept our place in this society, by abandoning this futile goal of equality, or take Lincoln's advice and leave for nations we are the majority!141

I’m in Ghana right now visiting for 2 weeks. It’s a beautiful place but many people here are not living there best life. Many of the people are living in extreme poverty and struggling. It is a third world county with its challenges. It has a lot of potential for US Citizens bc our dollar is much more powerful. It is a peaceful place with friendly people who look like me, which is very welcoming and beautiful.

Point of correction we Ghanaians and Ghana 🇬🇭 are NOT living in extreme poverty, we have a lot of food coming from our farm produce , every Ghana is fed daily on three equal meals and content with it.We NOT a third world country looking at how the West depends heavily on Africa for survival ( directly and indirectly) shipping organic food staff to the West , transportating our raw materials(natural resources) etc to the West and you called is that name ? God hv mercy ! Negative misconceptions and ones they come here to Africa, they realized we AIN'T poor , we ain't sleeping on trees, fighting with buffalos, lions, Crocs etc.
It a long time blacks we SPEAK positive of ourselves !

I haven't seen any news coverage of Ghana that I recall, no matter whether it's negative or positive. No one white person nor government employee has discouraged me from visiting Ghana. The fact that she mentioned bears in Ghana shows her ignorance.
