Standing Mast Route 1 (Sailing Hydromatic) Ep. 1

We are sailing the Standing Mast route through Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Our sailing yacht is put to water in Monnickendam and later we will sail in southerly direction through the canals of Amsterdam. We continue via the towns Alphen aan den Rijn, Gouda and Dordrecht. Sailing through Amsterdam goes in the middle of the night. In Amsterdam alone 17 bridges and locks will be opened for us. On the entire route towards Bruinisse a total of 43 bridges and locks will be opened for us. Sometimes we will have to wait a little while, because certain bridges or lock will not be opened during daylight hours or during busy road traffic hours. At the Markermeer we are able to sail a little. The weather is sunny but cold, only 2 degrees celcius. With our yacht a Bavaria 39 Cruiser we pass the first part of the route without any major problems.
