The only problem with being a simple man is that the rest of the world tries to be complicated and makes it hard for the simple man to understand why everyone else is so stressed. Sometimes events in the world confound a simple man to the point of no return. God rest my son, the greatest simple man I knew. Gone in body but with us forever in spirit. Seems like everyone who listens to this song is depressed or some recovering alcoholic or drug addict. Damn :S I just like the song and the riff etc.
chords in the progression. 9 times out of 10, the root of the first chord in the progression is your key. Not always, but a lot of the times. From there apply what you know in terms of scales and then its really easy to figure out the melodies that are going on. I lifted this tune from front to back in about 25 min of work, and that includes solos and melodies note for note. Im not guitar god, but i can speak the music language rather fluently so it enables me to pick up simple stuff reallyquick

I began singing everyday and have been for MONTHS. Improved a lot and thought I was getting pretty good. Possibly a little cocky. Then, recently, I recorded myself. Damn, I suck. Talk about a reality check. Not even close to what I was hearing. Almost quit practicing. BUT. I do know the voice is like a musical instrument and I also SUCKED when I had only played guitar for a few months, too. I got pretty good after about 5 years and I am going to make 5 years my goal for singing, too. Anyway, let this be a reality check but also inspiration that you can probably sound good in time. At least that's my goal. :)
