@@garypawlowicz5084 The original was done by The Supremes-and it's been covered lots of times, actually. But this is probably the best cover of it and like you said, it's still a great song(just as the original version by The Supremes is).

Exactly when you remake a classic this how you do it! I love BOTH versions ❤ but I want to dance when Kim Wilde sings it especially with her beautiful vocals!
Both this and the original are pure excellence. Filled with emotion even though the original was Motown and this version Pop, still the music and lyrics so many have and so many can relate to. I'm feeling those myself right now.
I was born in 84 and yes i remember all these songs on the radio and television as a kid. My memory is long best times ever we'll never see those days again! Really sad... 😢. I love this song and Kim's gorgeous
Love the way she updated the Supremes' Motown sound into a hi-NRG song with a distinctly 80's flavor and eventually reaching no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
It’s been said that she and her younger brother Ricky, who produced the record, had a bit of a vague recollection of the original Supremes record. It enabled them to really make the song their own, which is what you want.
I agree. It’s almost perfect for the 80s. My only thing is that the bridge doesn’t have that same dark 80s minor scale like the main part of the song so it doesn’t seem to lend as well to the 80s synth pop sound.
What scares me is we're not going back, we're going forward, and its getting worse and worse. Miss this era. I appreciate being alive during these beautiful days.
Everyone takes their youth for granted and eventually wishes they could go back. That said, I grew up in the 80s and came of age and went to college in the 90s, and it really was as good as reported. The music was great, movies were great, America was great, everyone got along and there was none of this woke shit. In many ways I feel bad for kids these days. Our culture is so busted now.

I only listen to songs from late 1970s-80s only and I thoroughly enjoy both the music and the elegant and aesthetically dressed people and hairstyle which is much more better than all the crap that's going around these days. Congratulations for fabulous music, and all the artist for the elegant outfit and hair style.
I remember as a kid in the 80s, my mother was offended by this song and always told me I should be listening to The Supremes version of it, which (according to my mother) was the only good version of song. Pretty silly in retrospect, but her resistance to it only made me listen to it more often. Teenage rebellion and all that. It really is a great cover, though.
I didn’t know this is a Supreme remake, until I saw and heard contestants sing this song on Motown Week. I learned this is originally a The Supremes song. 😆🤦♀️🤷🏻
To beat u2 is a feat in itself simply because...their U2. And Bono and the boys got some pretty good video exposure back then. The Joshua Tree was probably the most sold rock album of the 80s along with Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet and Def Leppard's Hysteria.

Her face, her voice, her music, and her stage presence is all awesome. If I were an adolescent in the mid 80s she would have been my crush haha.
The hair. In those days, hair mousse was a big thing.
Oh, she was. Boys and girls. Trust.
She was, especially in another video of this song where she wasn't wearing much clothing.
