    I think you may be underestimating Saria a bit.
    Point 1, Saria has a skill that is extremely similar to Suzurans who you were raving about, so that feels a bit inconsistent. In fact I probably prefer Saria to Suzuran for a lot of reasons. For starters being able to place on melee tiles for the boss stages specifically. Saria can also provide some trash blocking as some insurance to minimize leaks. Saria is also just a lot sturdier and less likely to die at an inopportune time.
    Point 2, versatility is very important in IS, often times you have a run where you get very very limited recruits (0-1) for specific classes so having 1 character that is a defender, medic, supporter, can save runs like that.
    Point 3, Mudrock, while excellent for some of the stages, she is wholly unnecessary for the actual boss stages. Saria is particularly good for sad lock since extra healing will not go unused on that stage and is sufficient for blocking trash enemies on the other 2 bosses which is typically what you need from your defender anyway. I would also add that Mudrock's high DP cost is a liability in some stages as well. I would argue that her performance in IS is very mixed depending on what stages you encounter.
    For me personally I typically will not spend a lot of hope on a defender until floor 3 or later. Spot is my go to if I got a defender recruit on floor 1 and 2 unless I happen to just have a surplus of hope where I can get an extra 6* without hurting my chances of promoting or recruiting a higher priority operator. Saria and Mudrock are my go to 6* defenders but I tend to lean towards Saria more because she just fits my strategies for the bosses specifically and I'm trying to build towards my boss squad not necessarily for specific stages en route to the boss, particularly when I'm spending high amounts of hope.

      I've only done 1 run with her, and it was definitely one of the least stressful runs. I only have S1M1 too. I think she's generally more useful than Mudrock for IS2.

    • @ciofurinone4225
      @ciofurinone4225 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Point 1: Suzuran applies Fragile AND gives passive healing, Saria only reduces enemy resistence.
      Point 2: Why Saria? Even if you get kinda unlucky with medic tags, it's more worth get Gummy or even Nearl, they do the same and cost less hope (to use it for more dps).
      Point 3: Saria cannot kill, Mudrock can kill and solo lane, and this is very important against the second ending boss.

      I prefer saria since i have less issues with lane holding as opposed to getting a hold of healers. Especially with survivalist floors or red mist stages. Having the sp boost on damage collectibles make it even easier for me to pick saria.

      @@bacchianlout110 it takes 12 hope for your Wandering medic + Saria and 2 team slots/deployment slots. You hardly ever reach such luxury in IS2, even if you do, you'd already have enough DPS options to deal with sanity damage before it reaches your tanks

    I feel that Saria is used in the same way that you describe Suzu. Since Surtr is such a popular pick, Saria’s S3 synergizes really well with her at the end. Plus of course the fact that she is a great unit to fall back on in the event that you don’t get Medic vouchers.

    I always use Saria if I have the chance since she is very useful on different stages including IS. Stage with depleting HP Saria S2, Want to buff arts dmg with slow Saria S3, The regular skill S1 is great too
    I don't see why I should pick other defenders archetype if you RNG the medic

    • @alexandersebela370

      Nearl becouse she's cheaper and got global healing buff. Only problem is that guard Nearl is better so if you want to play guard Nearl you cannot take her as defender. And instead of saria's skill 3 suzuran is 200% better increasing not only art damage but also true and physical, not to mention just 50 seconds cd because of her so regen talent compare to saria's 80 seconds.

  • @josephcarlotti

    Lol I either totally match the lists or I'm totally off. For example, I always take Saria for the passive healing in case rng doesn't give me healers and I always grab mulberry over other healers. Also use a 45 archetto over my 90 exu lol

      @raechu_01210 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i think exi is more reliable on average but cheeto scales better with some of the relics.Which makes me pick Archetto more often because realistically I'm spending my first sniper ticket on Kroos and if I'm getting a 6* sniper it's gonna be Chalter unless I can do something crazy with Archetto.

      same as supporters i almost always go for gnosis his debuff is great and skadi is kinda shitty takes long until her skill starts to work and its not much. As goes to guards nearl is top 1 stationary dps redeploy boss killer with skill 2 or true damage skill 3. Warfarin and may as you just wrote are another great units

      It's like you're in my head.
      I love to pick Kroos because I feel like of all the 3* options she's the most relevant at the end and if I assume that sooner or later I'm going to have at least 1 3* I'd prefer it to be her 1st as the others are probably getting replaced eventually and not generally in my final boss fight squad unless RNG was unkind.
      Since I already have an AA (marksman) sniper in Kroos then my next sniper choice is going to be Ch'en.
      If I happen to get certain relics I might also pick up May because with enough ASPD she has godly single target CC that is almost hilarious to watch.
      So the only runs I get Exu on is if I've pretty much got all of the above figured out and just keep getting sniper recruits.
      I will say that depending on my RNG sometimes Kroos is unable to handle Phantom's dancers and Exu provides that extra damage that can push it over the top but usually I'm not going to know that until it's too late to do anything about it anyway.

    • @niallk9336
      @niallk9336 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A lot of these lists are down to what the plurality of players have built. Exu and Eyja have been around since the start and known to be meta... a ton of people have them, and most have built them.
      Whereas less people will have Archetto, and only a fraction have built her.
      Mulberry is a pretty new operator. That said, I've haven't needed more than Kal'tsit, Perfumer, and Hibiscus for IS2. With offhealing from Jaye, Spot, and Myrtle and -- depending on tags -- Suzuran or Skalter.
      I can usually assassinate or "buffer" elemental damage before it's an issue. Jaye, Gravel, and Ling S1/S2 are great at that.

    I'm surprised Deepcolor isn't higher. She's SO freaking useful. All the summoners are really strong, but Deepcolor brings a ton of value for relatively little hope cost. But I often like to start with 4 stars and then pick my 6 stars as I go.

    I'm not very surprised about ptilopsis being over perfumer because ptilopsis is fine at e1 with her s2 but perfumer I feel is more likely to need a promotion so it ends up being the same amount of hope.

  • @Shajirr_

    Perfumer is definitely more useful than Ptilopsis. Perfumer heals summoner units, and she counters DoT stages, Ptilopsis does not.
    Also about SP restore - SP doesn't restore during the skill's active time, so the more duration a skill has, the less SP Ptilopsis will restore overall. Like its terrible for sniper Chen for example, while for regular Chen it will work at max efficiency.
