- This 2+ hour epic vid shows you everything Legend of the Double Dragon is! It took several days of tries to make this run. I was about to stop caring about how I played and then I had the perfect Mission 1 and 2. and the rest was awesome. Well, except for Mission 6. I totally screwed that one up lol! Other than that I barely drop any combos, everything comes into place really well. The last stage was really fun, You will see why when we get there. ;)
All you need to do to unlock the True Ending branch of LOTDD is walk through the open door after the second set of stairs on Mission 5. You will enter the factory at that point and the rest of the game is set up for you.
This is the real ending to Return of Double Dragon according to Mauricio and to Mr. Muneki Ebinuma, the director from the original game's release 27 years ago. You could say this vid was 10 years in the making because thats how long Mauricio's been working on this project. And believe it or not its gonna get even better with Ultimate Double Dragon.

The Golden Harvest sound effects are so brutal.
The Showdown in Little Tokyo soundtrack and classic Chinese kung-fu flick sound effects really did it for me here. This is just so awesome and it is nice how this game turned out. Very awesome stuff! 😊
This is 80’s, 90’s action movies the video game. From the sounds to the music it’s taking me back to age 9-10. All the old kung fu action flicks. Sitting on the floor in awe. 😮

Dude, your videos are absolutely dope. I've seen different playthroughs of this game, but none have the style and flair that yours have.
Hey man, I really appreciate you saying that. I too have watched other people play this game as well as Ultimate. There always seems to be one to several problems with other people's videos on this game. One, they suck at playing. Two, its in low resolution like 360p and or has artifacts appearing in the video. Three, no pride in presentation of any sorts. And four, their channels are random gaming channels, meaning their emphasis on this game is minimal just like everything else they play. So the game doesn't get found cuz' people are looking for them and not the game.
I'm gonna do what no one else is going to do. My channel will be solely dedicated to this game (Ultimate) and maybe two other of Mr.Q's games in the future. I've more or less got the market cornered. People follow the developer for news, but they follow me to watch!😆
I will say this about that video though. It took a lot of tries and a lot of frustration. I got really REALLY lucky at the end nailing ultra after ultra. I'm quite proud of it, but I don't know if I will ever be able to pull off something that cinematic again.😔 Ultimate is going to be 5 times harder than legend.😵💫 I may get my ass kicked a bit more, but I will make sure I tell a story in the way I play like always.😉👍

Oh, this took place several years after the Lee Brothers defeated the founder and original leader of The Black Shadow Warriors, Machine Gun Willy and Duke eventually reorganize the gang. That’s make a whole lot of sense.

The original was released before it was done, but what we did get is still one of my favorite beat’em ups oddly enough.

Phenomenal! The original snes game is a classic in itself. The soundtrack, game play and nonexistent story were great. A few comments on your mod: the addition of girls is good but they're choppy looking, the chi bar is a good idea but listing the games is ehh and are there button inputs for the special moves? Must be many inputs those moves are crazy.

Very fitting isn't it? I remember the first time I heard it fighting the Chen bros in an old demo. I knew from that moment forward that is project is something very VERY special. Keep watching this channel, great things will happen by next year.

Sadly I don’t know how to do them. I played this similar to how I played the snes/sfc original back in the day. I’m good at beat’ em ups but not at fighting games, so any reference to do those combos I don’t know them.

Thanks man. And hey, they are not hard to learn. The quickest breakdown I can give you is that the chain combos come from pressing punch or kick in the style switching animation. So press style switch (your shoulder buttons) and then press an attack button. The rest is just memorization. Now the KI combos... well thats a little more complex. I know I have posted how to do them in the other comments below many times, so I'll let you look if you care too. Someday I WILL make a movelist video for this game, but I just can't right now. Way to busy. Luckily there are some old movelist videos by the developer that are still relevant to this game. Here is a link to Billy's cancel combos:

The music and sound effects will be all Super Nintendo game related. We also got Koji Ogata to make us new Abobos and Lindas. It's going to be the best fan-made Double Dragon game ever.

Um grande projeto em OpenBOR que infelizmente não é muito falado ou divulgado. Quem acompanha projetos do motor OpenBOR sabe do que eu estou falando... Esse módulo era para estar entre os top 10, mas, não é isso que acontece. Francamente, eu arrisco a dizer que esse é o único jogo de OpenBOR com uma gameplay orientada para combos. Talvez, a complexidade da gameplay (técnica exigida) é o que afasta muitos dos jogadores e faz o projeto ficar nas sombras.
Ah, finalmente um bom comentário. Sim, é uma pena que um jogo como esse ainda tenha tão pouca tração. Mas acredito que seja por outros motivos. Primeiro, este jogo em particular usa muitas músicas protegidas por direitos autorais. Portanto, qualquer canal maior do TH-cam que queira fazer um vídeo deste jogo fará isso de graça, pois não receberá nenhuma receita publicitária dele. Isso por si só desligaria muitos canais de jogos profissionais. Em segundo lugar, os jogos Openbor não têm uma reputação muito boa em todo o mundo. Eles são muito populares no Brasil, mas não em qualquer outro lugar. Em terceiro lugar, a maioria dos jogos openbor é ruim por vários motivos. Principalmente da qualidade realmente muito ruim na maioria dos jogos. A pura preguiça de alguns desses chamados desenvolvedores é de cair o queixo. Misturando tantos sprites de tantos jogos diferentes, frame rate ruim, animações ruins. Isso levaria a maioria das pessoas comuns a descartar totalmente a comunidade.
O último e pior motivo são algumas das pessoas que estão na comunidade. Eles roubam uns dos outros. Eles roubam sprites, roubam código e nenhum dos administradores faz nada a respeito. Inferno, alguns deles estão nisso! O melhor exemplo disso é que Deus abandonou a porcaria do Final Fight LNS. Costumava ser Final Fight Gold de Pierwolf. Foi um joguinho legal. Então todos esses ladrões vêm com uma pá um monte de lixo em cima dela. Criando um novo personagem em apenas algumas horas de trabalho, sistemas de combinação ruins e uma substituição de voz SF4 extremamente irritante. É uma farsa que essas pessoas ainda possam fazer parte da comunidade. Mas... é um mecanismo de código aberto, então qualquer um pode fazer o que quiser. Isso levou pessoas como Pierwolf e Magggas a sair e eu não os culpo.
Apesar de todo o horror que acabei de mencionar, há boas notícias sobre esse projeto em particular. Ultimate Double Dragon chegará em mais alguns meses. Ele terá todas as músicas originais livres de direitos autorais, bem como dez vezes o conteúdo e a qualidade de Legend of the Double Dragon. Para que outros TH-camrs possam reproduzi-lo.
Agora ninguém pode parar os ladrões, mas Mr.Q, (o desenvolvedor) pode definir a fasquia tão alta que ninguém jamais irá tocá-lo em termos de sua capacidade de criar um jogo. A única maneira de vencer todos os ladrões preguiçosos é abafar tudo o que é inferior na web. É aí que eu entro especificamente.
Em mais ou menos alguns anos, levarei meu canal a um nível profissional. Haverá muito mais do que apenas vídeos de reprodução. I can pull off the regular special moves. I have them memorized for the most part. And I have a blast just doing that. I know that I’ll never be good enough to do all those killer instinct combos. So I’m really happy to watch you work. It’s amazing.

How do you do the tornado kick at 1:36:17? You need it to make the jump. I've been playing this game for hours, and never figured out how to do that move. I'm stuck now. I really wish this game didn't rely on moves that aren't included in the instructions.
To perform the hurricane kick, be in super Double Dragon style, have at least 50% energy, then press down up plus kick while standing.
This is a mod of Super Double Dragon but it looks very fun due to the combos
Ultimate is going to be even more fun! :)

The game as it should have been ! Cool to see and read intermission speeches. It makes the story clearer. I particullary liked shadow duke at the end, and Shen-Long-Fu&Biao disappearing and using Gensetsuken after having been beaten once.
Just some few things more could have been done :
-Purple flames insted of normal flames in the last part of the final mission, (as in the first part of the fight against Mysterious Warrior DD2 Nes version), and the shadow/ghost version of all ennemies insted of physical ennemies (it could have accentuated what Marian said : "the room is like hell itself"). Eventually, adding some old ennemies shadows in the corridor, and in the final fight like Willy's, Chin Taimei's, and Mysterious Warrior's, etc and also Doppelgangers.
-Pursuiving the fight agianst Shen-Long-Fu&Biao on the trailer's truck (as in another openbor version)
-Duke jumping in the chopper in the airport mission (as in another openbor version too).
You know that the "other version" your speaking of is the sequel to this one and it being made by the same man right? Legend of the Double Dragon was released in July of 2019. This is where the developer was in terms of the development of his true vision. He said that this game is just a prequel as to what is to come. Your a bit behind when it comes to information as to what is what I am good friends with the developer and have been following this project since 2014. Besides him, I am the only other person that knows everything about this game.

@@HylianWarrior01 Thanks. Yeah it took me about 6 hours of training per character to get those ultras on muscle memory. I'm glad Mauricio made them easier in Ultimate Double Dragon.

I always wanna to do a animated movie version of Double Dragon but it’ll stay faithful to the plot of the first game with elements of the animated series. It’ll feature the voices of Lex Lang as Billy Lee, Steve Blum as Jimmy Lee, Laura Bailey as Marian Kelly, Charlie Adler as Shadow Boss Willy, with Michael Donovan as John Lee, Cathy Weseluck as Marika Lee, and Scott McNeil as Jeff. But that’s just my thoughts.
I would prefer a animated series reboot, where it would follow the plots of the first few games.

Hello there! Thanks for subscribing. This is a fan game that can't be bought or sold so you will never see it on modern consoles.
Despite its presentation, this game was made on a very old and very modest open source game engine (Openbor) So its PC only.
As for Legend goes, I believe the dev is trying to phase this game out. He just finished Ultimate a few months ago, and its the truest version of his original vision for this project. I don't even see it on his website anymore.
However, the only thing I can recommend is that you join the Discord server (check pinned comment in newer videos) and reach out to him. His name is mahcneto (Mr.Q). Maybe he will put it back on the website or send you a link.

Haha! Its fan game made almost entirely by one man over a period of 10 years. Legend is just a prelude to whats coming next. Ultimate is going to be 10 times better. Its all gonna be snes sfx sound too. Sub to me, the developer and join the discord server dude. Your definitely gonna want to see whats going on there.

@@whitneycardinal2421 Huh? Oh no. Can't sell stuff like this. Even with all the extra stuff in, the IP still belongs to ArcSystem Works. Fan games have to be free or those involved risk legal action. Any kind of trinket or "physical copy" of something like this can't be sold at all. It can be given away, but not sold for profit.

Thank you for your words! However this is not an SNES ROM hack. It Super Double Dragon rebuilt from the ground up in the OpenBor engine. It only uses the games original graphics plus more. No original code was borrowed, only remade and in better condition.
So with that said you would not be looking for an SNES emulator for PS3. You would be looking for a way to play OpenBor games on PS3. I recommend using the same executor that comes with the game as its the proper version of the engine that runs it best.

Thanks! Yeah this was mr. Q's vision for the game. All martial arts sound effects from the 70s and 80s. But in Ultimate Double Dragon, it will be a return to Super Nintendo style SFX.

Ahhh another move list question. Okay, I will try to make this fast. First Subscribe to Mauricio Herrera. He is the creator of this game. Now I will post two links to some of his old videos, (still relevent) on how to do all the regular moves, special moves and the CANCEL COMBOS. These are the easy moves. Now for all the special super hard complex combos. I will copy/paste the first txt file that came with the first version that explains the ULTRA COMBOS

Both Dragons has a simple way to perform Super Arts from Street Fighter, which also combined can trigger 2 different
cooperative supers, more about that later ;)
All SUPER ARTS start by doing a 360° motion in the D-PAD, starting from FORWARD, then DOWN, BACK, UP, FORWARD + Style switch 2
(or 1, for Co-Op supers).

@@Andronicus87 Yeah, the ultras in LOTDD are a lot harder to do here than in UDD. Remember either do the command quickly after the auto-double or have the next command done by the end of the auto-double. I know its hard but keep practicing. I recommend you start with Billy's DD1+3 Ultra first, it is the easiest ultra in the game. Jimmy's (to me) are the most difficult to pull off. I will make a movelist video doing my best to help people with this... someday...

Yo, you don't have to be lol! None of these moves are needed to beat the game. This is the way I like to play. I try to make it as entertaining as possible. Using every move he gave to this character. Oh and this is NOTHING compared to what Ultimate is going to have. Its not done yet. but will be in a few more months or so.
You should take a look at my OG Dragon demo run. Its a character Mr.Q made for more of a traditional style of play. I hope you consider subscribing, because once the final version of UDD is out, I plan on conquering this back top to bottom!

Oh, heh, It wasn't by accident. I was purposely looking for it lol! That song was made by Patricio Herrera. He is the main developer's brother. He will release all the songs when Ultimate is finished.
