The benefit of this is that Mario and Peach get the greater benefits of later friendship levels earlier, and when Daisy uses her ballade/lovesong/whatever it's called, she get's the same benefits with everyone on the team
Also, since Luigi's a cook, he can befriend the others by cooking for them
In the end, it's up to the player to decide, if you have a Popstar in your main team this technique is really good
