Another winner from ICM! You did a very fine job building this Cobra! As an aside, I built a 1/32nd scale model of the AH-1 produced by Revell that first came out when I was about eight years old. It wasn't as detailed as ICM's current offering, but back in the late 1960's when I was in Third Grade, that was the model kit that everyone in school wanted - that and the companion UH-1 in the same scale. But given that both of these desired model kits sold for the then princely sum of $2.00 in 1968, they were hard to get . . . . слава Україні! We were the “Blue Max.” I flew this aircraft in 1970-1971 in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The one thing missing are the names…Firebird, Hulk, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Rawhide, Pandora’s Box, Cheap Thrills and more. The Square surrounding the number “47” was used to designate B Battery or B Company in the First Cavalry Division. A used a Triangle and C used a circle.

The Blue Max insignia is on the transmission pylon doors. First Cavalry decal is on the tail. I have many pictures if you want to see them.

Damn! You’ve done some fine work to that kit. I must say though, the kit itself looks like a re-tooled Academy kit. Those landing skids are the bane of my existence. I really wish ICM would’ve done something more to reinforce them. Same with the canopy glass. If you liked that kit, try the Academy AH-1Z. You will not be disappointed with that kit.
Excellent video and a great build. I think the canopy is very difficult to assemble without smudging the clear plastic. I recently made the ICM 1/32 Tigermoth, a nice kit but I was disappointed with the level of cockpit and engine detail.
@@AF921ScaleModels A-model? OMG, I already forgot about that company. I had two An-32 in my stash and eventually just sold them, because I saw how people struggle with flash, sink marks... not worth of my time.
I really wish ICM would have done a AH1Y or Z model and done it in 1/35th scale instead of 1/32. And why would they do this one in 1/32nd and the CH54 Skycrane in 1/35th? Makes no sense.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, during the assembly I did not find quality photos of the helicopter in Vietnam. This model is a work of my imagination. I do not claim to copy and build models for my own pleasure.
Ну ниче так. С той черной смывкой перебор. Она сильно темная. И сильно все замазал. Прям весь замазал. А на реальном вертолете все гораздо "нежнее". Особенно где "паровозные" заклепки на хвосте. Из за смывки этой там все заклепки прям черным выделены. Перебор конкретный в том месте. А почему сам смывку не делаешь? Масляные краски и вперед. Но тогда можно сделать в разных местах ее абсолютно разного цвета. И темнее и светлее. И зеленее и коричнее и голубее и т.д. Вообще реальных фото Кобр из Вьетнама куча. ХЗ в чем проблема была ее гуглить. Там офигеть какое поле для везеринга. Ну...в итоге вышло вроде и неплохо. Но все портит та черная смывка. Везде одинаковая по всей машине...
Так, згідний, зі змивкою перебор. Фото гуглив, їх багато, алетбільшість з них чорнобілі. А ті що кольорові зняті на плівку там з кольорами проблема. ХЗ чого так вийшло, мабуть поспішив.

Gluing on painted parts may come back to haunt you later. But so long as it stays together, it looks good!
The glue I use penetrates through the paint and varnish and holds well. It stinks a lot but I'm happy with it)

NIce build. The manual calls for "A" which is a black, however, you did yours in gray. Is that just to be different?

Excellent. I'm doing OV-10 Bronco from ICM now. This soft plastic that ICM uses, is killing me. What's your opinion after doing the Cobra?
The plastic is really very soft. But after the models of the company Amodel it was an "easy walk")

What were the bottles of black and rust 50% mixture names. I couldn't see the numbers in the video?
These were paints ICM 1002 Black and ICM 1051 Dark rust

price-quality ratio, they are the best acrylic I've tried on the Ukrainian market. Unfortunately, the palette is not as wide as we would like.
