This lady was far more than just another attractive blond and given the right role, she could bring a real bite to her acting which unfortunately was not always appreciated. She was burdened by personal problems in her later years, but always greeted people with kindness and respect. Her career should have been so much greater. Thanks very much for posting.

A gracious and lovely actress. I met her at a Birmingham autograph show a year or two before her death. I loved her in They Shoot Horses Don't They.

A charming and excellent actress who died too young. I wish her films would be shown again even after many years.

Sorry but what an insult, inviting a guest of her calibre onto the show only to almost immediately ask what it felt like to work alongside Marlon Brando! It is as though Titchmarsh is devaluing her worth as an established actor. What a great lady - I question whether she was already ill at this point as she looks very frail.

that guy is an idiot! intimidating? Susannah York played an insurmountable Jane Eyre by my opinion. he had no idea!

Yun Yi He used to do a gardening show. He should have stuck to that as he is a very inadequate interviewer. He's polite enough but a bit insensitive here lol. She handled it very diplomatically but I could tell she was slightly insulted!

HighPriestess10 yes, insensitive and ignorant! he probably had no idea that on this earth there are some people there who infinitely admire actors like susannah york but don't even know how to spell marlon brando's name (such as me, who had to google his name!). pop culture makes me sick!

Yun Yi Totally agree! Aside from The Godfather and his small role as Superman's father in the film of the same name I have not seen Brando in anything else. He became morbidly obese and dropped off the radar! Susannah York may not have had major roles in big budget productions but she worked all of her life and deserves more credit than is given by Titchmarsh. You don't devalue a guest by inferring she must have been star struck to act alongside someone else LOL :D

Yun Yi By the way, Yun Yi, if you like Susannah York I recommend a lovely TV series available on Amazon (DVD) by the name of "We'll Meet Again". She features heavily in this and is pictured on the cover. It is a wartime saga about the effects that the arrival of an American Air Force bomber group has on a rural English market town. I just bought it for my collection - you might enjoy her performance in that - a great series from the 80's! :-)

I will remember Susannah York, for seeing her in ' We'll Meet Again ' and the film, 'Gold', opposite Sir Roger Moore. Nice to know she stared in so many things in the past, particularly during the sixities.

She was a very talented actress and a humanist that fought for many good causes. I went to see her many times in theatre and had the honour of meeting her after arranging for a friend to meet her in person, she graciously agreed to meet us in the bar of a small fringe theatre. The play was called Small Craft Warnings and it was an outstanding performance. A really lovely lady.

Ditto what Mike said above. An amazing play by writer Paul Minx. Susannah York, along with her three co-stars, was amazing. Get this play to the West End so more can see it! -kat

Is anyone familar with the movie that York did called "Kaleidoscope" with Warren Beatty? Well, it's out on DVD and I want to get it. I think that was one of the two best movies York did as a leading lady (the other was "Tom Jones") and her clothes that she wore were phenomenonal (which included a satin pantsuit!)

When was the last time Susannah York starred in a movie? Because Hollywood (and maybe England for that matter) can sure use her with all the crap that has come out recently.
