My perfect lazy day is a self care day. No working allowed. And no housework allowed!! Start the morning with your video and a cup of coffee. Make breakfast. Take a nice walk. Quilt when if I want to, have a facial, get my nails done. Meet a friend for lunch and have hubby either bring home dinner or order through door dash. Sometimes a show with popcorn and raisonettes.

A lazy day is a day off from work where I can sew in slippers and the family is off doing things and I don't have to stop to cook and clean up multiple times in the day. A small price to pay for : "Mom can I have the car today..." Why yes if you promise NOT to come home for dinner :)

I’m not sure one could breathe under one of the Pinecone quilts! They are absolutely gorgeous tho.
Several yrs ago, when our quilt guild had a show and “handmade store,” my mom and I made tons of the pinecone potholders! They completely sold them out. The stitching calls for a workhorse sewing machine, as the layers build up and the thickness is a bear to stitch. 💕🧵

? I have enjoyed learning about balancing a quilt as you put together the critter quilt. It is fabulous! But when you showed the photo you took where the critters were placed on your wall with just the white between them, it made me wonder how the next quilt would look if you used one color to build out the blocks to the size needed to sew into a quilt. It would look like varied sizes of sashing. And then use the same fabric in the narrow border. Do you think it would showcase the blocks and make a fun quilt, or would it be a boring quilt?

?Question? I make QOV quilts so lots of red, white, blue colors. No matter how careful I am the edges begin to fray on the blocks. Then during the making of the quilt sandwich some of loose dark threads inevitably crawl over under the white fabric in the most visible spot in the quilt! Then I have to use a very tiny crochet hook to carefully extricate the culprit. I try so hard to gently handle the blocks and finished top, but the fraying always develops. How do you deal with these loose threads and fringes? Knowing some tricks would make life so much easier!
