    There are still 2 more weeks left of school on my end, but I know some kids and teachers are off for summer! I wanted to upload this later in the summer, but decided to upload it now since there are some parents who are excited about their little one starting school and are already in the process of back to school shopping. I know...we are no where near “back to school” but it’s exiting times when your preschooler/kindergartener starts school for the first time. Here is what you’ll need. 😄

    He is too cute. My kiddo starts preschool before the summer ends. I'm not sure if every school or state is different in the US but his school starts before Sept. He's over 3 ft tall & we'll be getting this backpack & the nap mat. He loves dinos & is obsessed w/ this print. He wants the rolling backpack which I figured will work. The mini & small will fit him but they seem so small & are expensive. Decided to go for the bigger bag so he can grow into it. If we don't get the rolling one then the xl.

    • @TeacherInspirationStation

      Yea that should work. The great thing with this print is that it’s glow in the dark. 🤗 All the best with your little one. 😃

    Great video! My daughter starts Kindergarten (your Sr Kindergarten) this year and I also chose the PotteryBarn backpack and Yumbox. I was just about to order from Mabel’s Labels until I saw your video and now I am ordering from Oliver’s Labels. Those MyMojis sold me...too cute! I will be filming my Kindergarten Haul video in the next few weeks and can’t wait to show them! Thanks for sharing

      PracticallyPosh Life Omg! I love your channel! I think I’ve seen all your videos. Lol. Yea, I plan on doing a review on Oliver’s labels-I have no issues so far. They’re in my son’s sneakers, his baseball cap, water bottle...no signs of peeling. You will have so much fun creating your labels! The mymoji sold me too! I will definitely check out your video when you post it...looking forward to seeing it! 😄👍🏾

      Amelia Mendoza Back to school shopping is soooo much fun! The pottery barn kids backpack is great! We haven’t started using it yet, but it looks very durable and they come in a bunch of different designs. 😄👍🏾

      @@TeacherInspirationStation I second this notion.😚. I just got the same design for my son after so much research and self talk cos truly coughing out the money at first is a little worrisome but I console myself with the fact that the bag looks really durable. .. I love the quality just on first impression

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Veeluvstocook_ Yea, I don’t mind spending money on something that is quality because in the end you end up saving money. I teach and sometimes my students have poor quality backpacks that end up having to get replaced midway through the year. Either the zipper popped, the zipper stopped working properly, bag ripped, etc. I will do a review when the year is done but so far I haven’t heard anyone say anything negative about these backpacks. I hope to have it for at least 2 years. 😄👍🏾 I would get it on sale though if you can.

    Kindergarten depends on your child's 5th birthday by a cut-off date that varies from state to state. Most schools are back in session in September. Some states will allow your child to start kindergarten at 4 years old if their 5th birthday is as late as October, other states require your child to be 5 years old by the end of August. But there's no requirement for any schooling until age 6.

    At four here’s in the states it’s called Pre-k and then when they turn 5 year they go to Kindergarten. Pottery barn kids backpack 🎒 are well worth it I’ve had mine for many years. I have the one with wheels. I use my backpack 🎒 for traveling. The rolling one is ideal for traveling through the airport.

    Love your video! We also just skipped the pre k sized backpack altogether and went with the small. I’m working on my review now since she has used it for a year already. It’s definitely getting reused for kindergarten. And yes! We love the thermos water bottles. SO easy to clean! They hold up pretty well too.

      Hi! Did you think the small backpack was big enough for kindergarten? I have read that it’s not big enough to fit a folder

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kalynn Smith I know that the old small Pottery Barn kids backpacks did not hold a standard size folder, but these (Makenzie) do. 👍🏾

      Kalynn Smith we used our small last year for pre k and it held a regular sized folder and binder plus a complete change of clothing and the pbk lunch box with room to spare! It’s just tall enough to comfortably fit a folder or binder height.

    It's basically the same in the U.S. 4 year olds usually go to Pre-K and then Kindergarten at 5 years unless they have a birthday later in the year, then it's 5 for Pre-K and 6 for Kindergarten.

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethelean Wilson Yea basically the same thing; States just call it differently. You call it “pre-k” while we call it “junior kindergarten”, and your kindergarten we call “senior kindergarten”....that’s what I gather. Thank you! 😄

    In Florida it's V-PK (voluntary pre-kindergarten) for 4 year olds. Children don't actually have to go to school until Kindergarten (5 years old). Adrian is such a big boy now. He's super cute in his dinosaur backpack! Where did you get the reusable snack bags? I was just thinking a couple days ago about getting some for my son because I send about 3 different plastic bags a day in his lunch box. I love the label for the Bento Box! I'm looking up Oliver's Labels right now. I want one for Ian! Thanks for sharing Melissa.

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyday Deanda Oooh okay. Yea, junior kindergarten here is voluntary too but I would say most people choose to send their kids to JK. Oliver’s Labels are great...thinking about doing a review video since I have started to use it. You will have so much fun creating the labels and if you choose to do the “mymoji” stickers, you’ll have a blast creating a cartoon of Ian. Lol! Thanks for watching! 😄💕

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Trim My son is about 4 feet tall. How old is your child? This is a good size backpack (size small) for children ages 3-5 I would say.

    • @joetrim8178
      @joetrim8178 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TeacherInspirationStation He's 5 but he's the height of a 6 year old.

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Trim Ooh...I would say he’s in between sizes. Well, he’s only going to get taller. Maybe the large would be a better fit for him. Have you seen this video: th-cam.com/video/vl2ZeNmNJXU/w-d-xo.html Might help you more but I would say large. It might be a little big at first, but kids grow so fast. I don’t think he will get much wear in the small one.

    My son is about the same age but im also looking for a nice water bottle but the issue that i find is that he cannot have a soft straw. He bites his straws alot and i cannot find a bottle with a hard straw 😒 during your research did you see anything?

    • @TeacherInspirationStation
      @TeacherInspirationStation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm....that’s tricky. I believe the Camelbak water bottles are designed for biting. They have a “bite valve” and that is how you get the water, so it’s different from a traditional straw bottle. Not sure how hard the spouts are though...

      It’s the small Pottery Barn kids backpack. Here are the measurements that I found on the website:
      Fits children who are 43-49" tall.
      Overall: 12" wide x 6" deep x 15" high
      Interior: 11.5" wide x 5.5" deep x 14.5" high
      Exterior Pockets: 3
      Exterior Front Panel Pocket: 7.5" wide x 8.5" high
      Exterior Side Pocket (2): 5.5" wide x 5.5" high
      Interior Pockets: 1
      Interior Pocket: 6" wide x 4" high
      Shoulder Strap (2): 2.5" wide x 16-30.5" long
