Quite a tour de force, going through 3.5 hours of this. Well done. As for valuations, especially of Rolex sports models, being in this hobby for 20+ years, I am speechless. Far more money than common sense. The level of herd mentality is off the charts.

It seems like the inflated prices of these watches are purchased and held to store wealth just like how art pieces are. That's if it's luxury, collectible wristwatches that are good enough to be auctioned by the major auction houses.

Some of them were very rare.
The estimated prices are the knock down prices to the buyer, the sold price includes the buyers premium of approx. 33.5% + tax on the premium which makes the sold price over a third of the knock down price!! Greedy bastards. Don't forget the seller pays 15% also so loses around 40% of the quoted sale price.

On the Zénith tropical dial, the blue mark on the NATO Star on the case back was sold this way when new. It normally wear off!

If i was a collector, that would be a nice start. Omega 300 diver should be here Tuesday. I want high quality, user friendly, uncuttered, and something i haven't seen in the wild. I see Rolexs buy the truckload, in the yard, where I paint yachts, in excess of 100 ft. Not 1 Omega 300 diver. #67... Dad's watch. Rolex.... Ugh...

Almost 4 hours - this is getting ridiculous. I enjoy your pithy reviews, but this fashion for interminable streaming is really getting out of hand - not just from you. The cost of data storage is not zero and from what I hear TH-cam doesn't make much profit, so if this goes on I expect we can start to see monetized creators having storage fees deducted from their revenue streams, if that isn't being done already. Anyway, please try to keep it watchable without the use of artificial stimulants. Oh look, another Rolex, Royal Oak, Aquanaut... 😴
