  • Today at Ewetopia Farms, we were vaccinating lambs for clostridial diseases. We will show you the vaccine we use and how we do it.
    Sheep and sheep farming is our passion and we hope that the love we have for what we do is obvious to you the viewers. Our operation is a large scale, registered Suffolk and Poll Dorset sheep farm combining the best of pasture and confinement to manage the flock for maximum comfort, minimal stress, and producing a consistent, very high quality product. Our focus is on providing breeding stock for sale to other sheep producers. All our sheep are treated with the utmost compassion which I think will become evident as you join us on our daily rounds on our working sheep farm in eastern Ontario, Canada.
    I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like to follow along with us and experience life on a real live sheep farm on a daily basis, please subscribe so that you don't miss a single episode!
    Thank you for taking the time to watch! We love to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment as well.
    Thank you!

    Thanks again for a great video Arnie & Lynn. Can’t believe how beautiful Thelma and Louise are looking. Growing so fast.
    Remember when Linus was born and all the health issues he had and look at him now…. Didn’t think he would pull through but he has and he is so lovable and cute and love the way he likes all the attention from Lynn. And Leonard was another one that has gotten so handsome and he loves attention too! Have a great week!! 🐑❤️🐑❤️

      Yes, it was quite an ooomph when she fell, but she has lots of wool, which must have cushioned her fall. She seems fine today 🙂

    Oh those January ewes, quite a lot, crowded, and then … the gate fails. “But, no big deal.” Lynn, you were comical tho. 😂 😉 All in a day’s work. Fantastic job getting all those shots done.
    Thanks for showing Thelma and Louise. I’m glad you let their momma stay with them. Some families have strong bonds. You’re a great nurturing mom too, I can tell, because you let that sheep family stay together. 🐑

    Good afternoon Arnie and Lynn. Great start to the day. I think that chipmunk thought he was invisible by not moving 😂😂. Love. Love the Thelma and Louise story. One with a happy ending for that trio. Glad you guys have a soft heart. And it isn’t hard to understand how each year there is some special ones in the group. Thelma is a doll. Calmness h til the break out at the okay corral. You were pretty cute. A little girl holding those sheep back. Arnie wondering about supper. 😂😂. What an awesome job. Getting that many sheep done in 2 hours spectacular. Holy cow that was quite the tumble. Glad she didn’t get hurt. Nothing like those bouncing cotton tails on the way to the barn. Aww a visit from Luni. Perfect. Thank you for the video. Have a good evening. Sounded like Buddy at the end there. Big hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

    Thank you Lynn & Arnie because I know you’re both so busy but you still film for us, I love seeing the updates on the lambs & seeing them grow, & what a shame Thelma & Louise’s mom is such a good mother , I forgot why you were giving them bottles was it because she had mastitis ? ,also thank you for letting her stay with them a little longer 😊❤❤

    Thelma & Louise's mom so use to them doing the disappearance act & exploring, she probably got overly concerned when they didn't come back when you tried weaning them! Busy day & now time for rum!

    Everyone gets a little tense once in a while, but work goes smoothly when the animals know the routines. Watch other vlogs and see,hear, and get tense on some shepherds not making good use of their animals and equipment. For example, dragging the equipment around, around, and you two are creative and use the same equipment easily with no frustration. It makes lots of difference to me. Guess others are struggling for content!

    • @EwetopiaFarms

    Hi Lynn, i noticed that you didn't record the sheep when you vaxed them, Do you make a general note in your main book?? Wow that was a sheep-tastrophie when they all started to try and crash that gate. Glad no one was injured, until that one sheep tried to jump off that box!! They just seem to get in all kinds of trouble sometimes. I guess you guys never have a boring day on the farm. I sure hope those clouds mean rain is coming!! We had a little last night & after lunch today we had a bad thunder & lightning storm with loads of rain, and it sure cooled things off. You need the rain badly, thats why I've been praying for rain for you. GOD bless you all.❣🌴

    • @EwetopiaFarms
      @EwetopiaFarms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the lambs got done, and they are recorded on my calendar for their booster in a month. After that, it is just once a year a month before lambing. Since everyone is done together, no more recording is needed. No, nothing ever tends to be "routine " 😆

      Loiuse used to be bigger than Thelma but because Thelma took a bottle sometimes, she is now the slightly bigger one of the two 🙂 Food definitely affects the growth rate of babies!

    What injection site location are you using for Glanvac6? I use below and behind the ear but sometimes they get a little lump at the injection site I don’t like.

    • @EwetopiaFarms
      @EwetopiaFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, lumps at the injection site are common no matter where you do them it seems. Our shearers always tell us that they can tell who actually vaccinates by the lumps lol! As long as it is subQ, I don't think it matters where you do it. We do it actually on the back behind the shoulder just because it is much easier to reach them there in the chutes.
