I am a Pakistani, upon doing my MS in Pakistan, I had a great desire to do PhD from Aligarh University. Following my desire, i called Aligarh university admission office and talked to about 3 different people in the office. Funny thing is, the first person picked my call and i told him that I am from Pakistan and want to get admission in university. He was so confused that he hung up the phone. I laughed myself and enjoyed the situation. Then i called again to a different person by searching a concerned person's name from university website. When a person answered my and i said him i am a person from Pakistan and want to talk to Mr. ABC. Thee person loudly said in office "Hey ABC Teri Pakistan se call ae hai" Haha, ABC became so confused as it was a bomb. Then he immediately refused to answer my query by saying he doesn't know about it. Then finally i called again a person agreed to answer my question related to admission and told me that yes we have quota for foreign nationals and i will fall under same quota and if you fulfill our admission requirements then you will be considered irrespective of my nationality. Well, i heard that there are near to none students from Pakistan in India and making things worse my parents didn't allow me to even apply for admission. I eventually ended up coming to Europe for my PhD. Well, i don't know that in my lifetime the issues between the two countries will be settled or not. But i still have wish to come to this university. It has great history and renowned personalities. In the end, love from the other side of the border to Aligarh University. Cheers.
