This summer I'm planning on trying to dye some discs for the first time. I think I'll try this method first - seems relatively simple and the disc looks fantastic.
Best dyeing tutorial I've ever seen. One thing that might improve symmetry, is if you make like a parachute out of your pastic wrap, and pull on the strings to lift it. some asymmetry may be desirable, so use only 8 strings, or if you want it more even, use more strings. right now you have 4 points from which you're lifting it, and doubling that should improve things, but not overdo it, while still being relatively simple with not too much fuss.
I know in your honeycomb cells, you don't use any silicone or other oil in the dyes, and just use the 3-in-1 oil on your pokey tool, are you doing this without any added oils as well?
Thanks! I have a video on mixing that goes over ratios. It's just the suggested recipe from Prochemical and Dye. Can't really reuse the bed after this in my experience but with the right color combo you probably could
This came out way sicker then I imagined! Looks awesome man
Love it man, the detail and coloring are fantastic. Your tutorials got me into dying recently and are very good 👍
Thank you

Its a great one to try first
An hr is how long you waited?
Wow! That one came out amazing!
Really information! Thank you. I've been learning a lot of new techniques lately and the plastic wrap is a cool trick.

Cool idea I might give it a try
LOVE THIS!
Woooow nice~very beautiful ❤
Do you a step by step video of how you mix the dye bottles?
Frigging awesome man thanks
Love it. Can't wait to try it. Thank you.
Thank you for this!!!
have you found any mixture of pink that doesn't just sink to the bottom? I find my pinks don't layer well as they get overtaken by every other colour.
What type of dye are you using and whats your ratio mix with the dye and floetrol in the 8oz?
How long do you leave a disc in the dye after you place it under heat?
These are awesome!! Will this work on abs plastic?
I'm not sure
Going to give it try
Hello Rob. How far above the disc is Your heatlamp
amazing, what wattage bulb and how long/height? I been working on mine, went with 125 watt bulb, but isnt really heating up that much
I use a 250w bulb and heat the disc to 130 degrees

There is dimethicone oil mixed with all the floetrol in this video. 3 drops per 8 oz
@@LilbotDiscGolf can you use 3-1 for halo cells?
This was sick! What are you dye bottle mixture ratios? And do you reuse these beds more than once?
Thanks! I have a video on mixing that goes over ratios. It's just the suggested recipe from Prochemical and Dye.
Can't really reuse the bed after this in my experience but with the right color combo you probably could
So what is the science behind how that works after removing the plastic wrap. What is removed and what is left behind?
As far as I'm concerned this all runs on PFM
Just curious what happens if u pull from the middle instead?
Could be worth trying for sure
I appreciate the content once again can you use the 3-1 silicone oil as well to get the halo cells?
I have not tried but it would be an interesting experiment
@@LilbotDiscGolf I'm assuming you use that specific oil because of the smaller cells?
Thats awesome! Is the metalic look from the disc or the dye?
That metallic look is from the disc, but the color really brings it out.
@LilbotDiscGolf that's what I thought. I just got my first dye and a plasma white volt. You really inspired me to try. Thanks!
