- With a new lathe in the shop, it's time to sharpen my woodturning tools on my Tormek T-8. I'm focusing on my roughing gouge, spindle gouge, bowl gouge and skew chisel.
Thanks Tormek for collaborating with me! Check out their stuff:

Tormek definitely the right tool for the multi-compound-angle gouges. Those profiles would be impossible to maintain without a jig that followed the factory set angles and sweeping profile around the edges. 👍And as long as you have the lathe RPMs set high enough the wood will explode off your blanks in nice big curly strips. 😺
Those big curly strips are what I'm going for ;)
James Wright always stresses the value of being able to sharpen quickly and get back to work. Do you keep your Tormek set up for use when turning, or doing hand tool work like using chisels, etc? Nice video - thanks for sharing.
Thanks John! I agree, if you're doing woodturning a lot, then having your sharpening set up ready to go would be a great benefit. However, I'm using the machine for a lot of different things... it seems like each time I get comfortable with one jig, it's time to move on to another :)
Wo sind die schönen Bau-Videos hin?
In ein paar Tagen wird es einen tollen Build geben :)
I have one never use it wayyyyy too slow and over priced thanks for the video.
