I flew mine until the motor got so weak I had to give it a helping flip of the prop to get it going. At that point I converted the whole thing to 2S brushless. 19 grams heaver now mostly because of the battery but has the proper GC and flies better in a 10 mph wind now. Been crashed and repaired many times as a trainer but easy to work on and fix. Doesn't look as pretty but flies great.
That is awesome Jack, I bet she does a lot better on 2s! More like the old UMX Carbon Cub SS I suppose. Great to hear from others who enjoy this little plane, keep 'em flying! All the best to you my friend!
I'm running the umx radian and I have the sport cub. I'm waiting to get better to fly the sport cub, but let me tell you the a3sx and safe really is a life saver. Keeps the cost down for this hobby. I'm sure the old balsa wood flyers would have loved this feature way back.
@@gDraxxus I completely agree with you my friend! AS3X and SAFE have saved many RC flyers a whole lot of money. All the best to you and happy landings 😁👍
If they had these around 25 years ago my transition into this hobby would have been a lot easier that's for sure. These look ideal planes for a beginner and - as we have found with the UMX Timbers - more experienced flyers can have fun with them too.
Hey there Rodger! Yeah, it's really good for a 1s plane, pretty surprising really. I got this one down at Pegasus; they're usually a little pricey, but sometimes you can find a good deal down there! All the best to you!
Love a new hat-cam vid from you bro!! Such a great little trainer. We sold a TON of these at the hobby shop. I'd love to know how many thousands they sold? Great demo bro of a classic starter plane. Funny how over time we want what we sold years before. If I had more room...
Thanks brother! I'll bet you sold a bunch...these are great little planes a pretty spunky on 1s! I agree about the over time feelings, sometimes it's nice to revert back to simpler things...
Hi Nick! I'd say, on a good condition, stock battery (1S 150mAh 25C) to set the timer for 5 minutes and go from there. Although the manual says to set the timer for 6 minutes (page 13), I usually play it safe and think that 5 minutes is pretty reasonable for this kind of plane. I hope this helps, all the best to you!
depending on how you fly it can be good for ten minutes! itll start making a oscillating motor noise when its dangerously low but unless you crazy high up fighting winds its still safe to land (this has happened to me, had to put it into expert mode and drop altitude to gain speed against wind, barely got it back to me lol)
lmao i recently crashed/lost mine. Went for a backflip when a huge gust of wind threw it into a tree (i think) kinda just disappeared :'( .. lol i think ill order another since i have a controller and its cheap

Great fun ...i believe Bently still flies that one. Great performance for a 1s setup. What hobby shop did you buy it at?
Hope your well my friend.

I line that one up and let it land by itself😊
@@Frojesus For sure 😎👍😁
on one battery full charged whats the max flight time you can safely achieve?

Sorry to hear you lost your first plane John, but a second plane would be a nice cheap source of fun for sure! All the best to you my friend!
