Worked these old birds at Dover AFB De. from 1970-71. Was crew chief on 2001. We sent 2008 to the AF Museum and the others to the bone yard in Az. Big plane for big stuff. We carried 5 Hueys to Vietnam and brought battle damaged ones to Bell at Amarillo in Tx. Glad when I went back on C-130's.
My dad flew 141's at Dover in 1970 after flying AC-119's in Vietnam. I attended Dover Central Middle school and Dover High school. My dad retired at Dover and the day after we drove back to Tacoma WA. I met the guy who figured out why those 131's were crashing.
