  • Today we take a look at a Philips VR2021 Video 2000 video recorder from 1980.
I drove from Manchester to Telford and back to get this video recorder and I had barely made a cup of tea after getting home with it and i was in front of a camera trying to power it up.

Great. I remember the day when I visited my father's workplace during Open Day (He worked for Philips in The Netherlands as the lead engineer for their X-Ray spectrometers). They had a setup there for the kids with this video recorder (VR2021 or VR2020) playing cartoons. I was fascinated as a kid by these magical devices called video recorders. This one was the first I ever saw.

hi you are very right about power unit i never power up till i change over caps there's alot of them around over in the eu
the best video decks that are on the market place are the betacam sp
note all the low cost junk decks are gone i have had them all as i need them for parts to make good decks i had 2 pallets of them from a ex pro place
about 40 decks 6 i had to use as parts 2 of each model i need as parts i have one of the 6 that kind of works
i have a brown V2000 with the A/V ports note i a have a V2000 that the gear has gone soft and is coming apart can fix the decks with a model gear pack

I know it's logical, but it still seems so funny that Sony made VCC video cassettes

remove the upper drum and use scotch pads on it.
