Oh, and a quick note about the topic of this video: the use of "future tense" as talking about probability is also used in Spanish quite a lot. "She is probably at home" "Estará en casa". Pretty happy to see a similarity between my native language and Korean! (and it's not the first one I found)

You can just use ~어/아요 for future too! 😊 Of course you can use ~(으)ㄹ 거예요 because future plans are not 100% certain in nature, but yeah for those certain future events and plans, you can just use ~어/아요! ...Plus, thank you so much for liking my lessons! 😍

안녕하세요, inggit 님!!! I would love to tell you there is a clear cut way to tell, but unfortunately not really... Here are some tips though. These ones are irregular when followed by vowels ( ㅇ as in 어/아요, 으세요, 은)
ㅂ as in 덥다, 춥다, 맵다
ㄷ as in 듣다, 걷다
ㅅ as in 붓다, 잇다
and ㄹ is irregular when followed by ㄴ, ㅂ, ㅅ.
As you may already know, some of the predicates whose verb stem end with the consonants above conjugate regularly though... and there isn't really a clear rule which ones conjugate regularly and which one are irregular. One tip to use is when looking up a dictionary like Naver dictionary, they give conjugation examples below the definition. Look at them and see how they conjugate.
From what I understand, future tense is a type of conjunctive, much like in Hebrew, which has stunning parallels with Korean, as in e.g. 'he would be...' rather than he 'will be'. Would that make sense?

it's basically when 2 separate words combine to become one word. there are so many different rules about it, so even for native speakers, it's impossible to just put it into 1 simple rule... but, ㄴ is when there is ㄴ,ㅁ nasal sounds are (nasalization like in other cases) whereas other consonants will get tense. 사이시옷 is added if the first word is ending with a vowel and no 받침 underneath. this may be the most simple way i can summarize. :)

Hi! Thank you for explaining. Do you have to use 아마 with present probability as well as past? For future if I wanted to say “I might eat out tomorrow” would I need to use 아마?
It's optional to use 아마 with ~(으)ㄹ 거예요 for the probability meaning, but if you say 아마, you'd have to use an ending that has the probability and uncertainty in the meaning such as ~(으)ㄹ 거예요. And it applies to all the tenses!

No need to apologize! 🥰 Yes, you can use the present tense to answer the question about the future as well.
A: 내일 뭐 해요? (What are you doing tomorrow?)
B: 내일 쇼핑해요. (I am shopping tomorrow.)
Or you can also say 내일 쇼핑할 거예요. (I plan to/I am going to/I probably will) as well.

네, 그렇게도 쓸 수 있어요! You could use it that way too!
Just like ~(으)ㄹ is probability, not grammatically "future", the past tense suffix ~았/었/ㅆ~ also has the meaning of completion. For that reason, even if you are talking about future, if you wan to say you will have finished/completed the action, you can use it! That's how 했을 거예요 in that sentence can be used as future perfect in English! 🙌
~았/었/ㅆ을 거예요 can also be used to say "it probably happened...", guessing about the past event as well... which is covered in the video. Here, ~았/었/ㅆ~ is the past tense, and ~(으)ㄹ 거예요 is the probability, guessing (Regardless of the tense)! 😀

여행하러 갈 거예요. 하다 is the verb, so you change it to 하러.

For the last sentence, not much difference in terms of how native speakers will interpret the two. Grammatically, 가요 is definite future when you know for sure it is happening whereas (으)ㄹ 거예요 is probability, which is probable not 100%, which is most future plans are. So either works just fine. 저녁 먹으러 가요 can be used as suggestions "let's go" whereas 갈 거예요 only means you are planning to go.
I really liked your video, but I'm wonder with the irregulars 듣다 and 걷다, when the ㄷ changed to ㄹ, why did we add 을 거예요 (들을 거예요, 걸을 거예요), instead of just writing 들 거예요 or 걸 거요? I think the same thing happened with a ㅅ irregular.
Yeah, that is confusing to many people. 😊 You can think of it this way: you don't apply irregular conjugation rules twice. You already applied one irregular conjugation of changing ㄷ to ㄹ, so you don't apply another ㄹ irregular conjugation rule again.
There are verbs that end with ㄹ: '들다 to lift', '걸다 to hang'. And they conjugate irregularly for ㄹ irregular - 들 거예요 / 걸 거예요

If there's no future tense in Korean, how about 겠어요? Like: I'm going to the beach tomorrow (저는 내일 바다에서 가겠어요). Bcoz I've been taught that 겠어요/(으)ㄹ 거예요 is the same (for future tense). If you don't mind to answer it :) 감사합니다~~
Yeah, so linguistically or grammatically speaking, there is no designated "future tense" like how ~았/었~ is designated past tense suffix. There are grammatical expressions whose meaning can work to discuss future, which include ~겠~ and ~(으)ㄹ 거예요.
1. 겠: indicates the speaker's intention or speculation - this is why it's often used for future. Interestingly, ~겠어요 is not being used as much to say "I will" even though it is grammatically correct. Language changes over time, right? 😊 If you pay attention to Korean speakers conversations, you notice people use ~겠어요 more when speculating and guessing what will happen like 하늘이 흐려요. 내일 비가 오겠어요. and ~겠습니다 more often to say "I will(intend to) do something" in the most polite and formal way. 네, 그럼 연락 드리겠습니다.
2. ~(으)ㄹ 거예요: probability, regardless of tense. Your friend is dressed too light in winter and you can say 춥겠다. You must be cold: present. Your friend said they didn't bring a thick jacket to an outdoor concert in winter: 추웠겠다: You must have been cold: past. And because of the meaning "probably", people use it to talk about the future plan that you will probably do. That is why. So yes, it is used to talk about future plan! But not only for the future.

Oh I just realized that I gave examples with 겠 instead of 을 거예요 😅 Oops, sorry! But the same explanation applies for both! They can be used to make guesses about all the tenses, and they are also used to describe the speaker’s intention and the probable plan for the future. 🙂
