As someone who isn't really an army builder, I really like that all of the "troop" figures came as 2 packs. 2 figures is just enough for a modest display that still indicates there's more than one of that character in universe.

I couldn't get my hands on these figures, but I'm glad they exist! Army building is always fun, whether it be T-1000's, Storm Troopers and even The Foot Clan Ninjas!

However, I don't do it with *_action_* figures; I do it with *_*LEGO*_*_ _*_minifigures_* - specifically with historical (and occasionally fantasy: i.e. with minifigures from the LEGO Legends of CHIMA and LEGO NINJAGO themes) army-building minifigures.
This pack was a brilliant idea. This was my most wanted army builder since the Snake Men are my favorite faction after Skeletor's Evil Warriors.
The extra weapons and heads were great.
I bought 9 of these guys. So I have 18 in total. I love the Snake Men as a faction and a concept.

The one oppertuiny I sad to not see was an Army builder for the Great Rebellion I think this could of been a cool one to do using one male and one female and give two different armour and outfits and then give them some normal and maybe farming tools as weapons. I would like to of seen this done in classics but it now too late. Army Builder type are a great thing to let you choose and what each one looks like. Personly thou I cannot afford any MOTU toys but maybe one day I can get them in the future.

Loved this set! Got three or four of them. The eyelash viper is my favourite of the bunch. And, yeah, I would've bought loads more of this set, if they'd re-released it in new colour schemes. Red, green, blue, brown, black, grey . . . .
That was the long term idea!

Just wanted to say, I've always been super impressed with the four horsemen's anatomy sculpts. Clean, no deep grooves. Accurate. (I'm a sculptor myself). I consider MOTUC and DCUC to be two of the best lines ever when it comes to eye pleasing character designs. It is great to get all this behind the scenes info on these things from the dude who managed both. Well done sir.

I’m really bummed I missed out on the classics line. My job was keeping me so busy and lots of travel I hadn’t really heard of them until we couldn’t buy TP anywhere. Looks like such an extensive awesome line.

One could argue that they are fueling off alcohol, but beer is pretty weak for that purpose, and using water for coolant that is beer also gums up the parts needlessly. Could be they were doing random sampling of produced goods and were doing so in a way that both took up floor space, and was a very clear indicator of 'this is horde territory.'

The horde drones made no sense. Heck most of the SETTING didn't make sense but it's a fun ride.
Really scratching my head on why there was never an attempt branching int o tabletop or wargaming.
While I'm not normally a "troop builder" I always bought at least two of each 2-pack so that I could display all of the heads/weapons/pieces. But this set was great, much more variety than the others and I would have bought this pack over and over in every color of the spectrum. Was glad that the Horde-armored Snake Troopers also made it out before the end, just wish they'd had more head options...
We prob would have done new heads on the second color pack if it happened
The Decepticons got drunk off of energon in the original Transformers cartoon was one of the most awesome things I experienced as a child.
Also wasn’t some of the Snakemen members of the Horde in the She-Ra cartoon? I remember seeing two in that book burning episode.
Yeah, the Horde had Tung Lashor and Rattlor in the Filmation She-Ra cartoon, because advertising. 😉

The Snake Tongue Spear is the best new Spear in the classics line, though this is overly narrow! I imagine spears look nice with army builded figure displays, especially if you make nice formations with the spears all pointed.

I have a few pretty good ideas of what to do with that one snake-villain, but honestly what I need to do is pony up the money to an artist and brainstorm/allow them to draw a design. Artists have actually really influenced a few of my character designs before.
I can recommend some great artists!

(Megaera the Fury and Gabriel the monster hunter are two characters whose designs were radically changed or solidified by artists)
I immediately put these figures on my GI Joe Skystriker so I could finally have true Snakes On A Plane. Love this set, a 10/10 for sure.

I can’t buy multiples of the same thing because I’m a bit too OCD, if I understand that term correctly. I have to keep track of what parts came with what copy. I only did it for Transformers Siege Reflector for the camera mode.

Better tan singles, not as good as 3 packs
I was only able to get my hands on 3 of these 2 packs. Got them all on the aftermarket years ago when they were running about 100-120 bucks. Needless to say, that was quite expensive, but at least I have a small army along with the rest of my Snake Men .

@@spectorcreative1872 Yellow and orange are some of my personally most appealing colors, and I like the desert snake motif it gave them both. Maybe we should have had a third in green! And a fourth in red?
we talked MOTU's lack of sub-groups today and how it wasn't until late in the line we got the Horde and the Snake men. Meanwhile in GIJOE or Transformers they constantly had sub-groups. Those smaller collections of characters in a sub-group made it fun to collect, especially if you liked their color scheme or recurring motif. With MOTU it was 1 off after 1 off. Each new character usually got some long winded overly unique origin or back story instead of just being a member of a sub-group and having a particular specialty in that group. This made it so that for the heroes of Eternia and the Evil warriors there wasn't a lot of cohesiveness. At least the Horde usually had the emblem on all their gear and a recurring color scheme. BUT coming from a line where I think the play gimmick came first and the character, their name and affiliation followed its no surprise.
It was always a toss up name vs gimmick

I remember feeling thrown off at the announcement of the Snake Men season of the 200X series. Especially with the Council of Evil story being so good, I wanted more episodes like that. I did end up liking the second season, shame it was too late for the show though.

I´d like to think that Scott would play this scenario in his head with his figures: a random low ranking Storm Trooper manages to kill Darth Vader and Darth Sidious -the first gets thrown out to space because of a mistake and the second gets shot by his blaster after the Emperor demands to check it out- and because of that he manages to rule the Empire now.

This was an awesome video- so thanks again! I never really did troop building as a kid, but wished the GI Joes would've had a generic trooper (aka Greenshirt). As for the Tfs, the Seekers, have now become a defacto troop as I've become fond of he basic buck.The Snake Men were awesome, as these toys look! Whose your favorite Army builder type character?
For MOTU it is Horde Troopers, but I do love Stormtroopers and Rebel Hoth trooppers

Off topic: Just been catching up with your channel, really enjoying it and I finally successfully dug out my classics Skeletor, Trapjaw and Optik. Unfortunately, the financial trouble I encountered right after collecting these 3 meant that I had to discard a ton of collector appropriate boxes and baggy a ton of my collection. (Mostly 80s Anime) I baggied my 3 classics figures too and when I dug them out I was sad to see a few accessories missing. My memory not being what it used to be, I wondered if I got my hands on a classics Tri-klops and maybe the missing accessories were with him. I continued digging tonight. Well, just about an hour ago I found the accessories tucked safely away in a different box along with a vintage battle cat and Panthor I totally forgot I even had. Sadly, I think I can safely rule out that I already own a classics Tri-klops, but I'm happy my existing Classics collection is complete and in sound shape, even if loose.

The hoard troopers were robots and other races so more like armoured soldiers I always thought.

@@spectorcreative1872 I would say it's a mixture of both in the cartoon just because how some of the troopers act.
They are portrayed as robots when it comes to being attacked or destroyed in battle this is to protect them as kid content but, when it comes to off time they seem to be real troopers just in armour and act with more hated emotions and just done to give some negative emotion to how the hoard interacts.
The toys of course were always robots but, in show it seems there were two types in the show.
It's quite clear at times also when you see how a hoard trooper reacts when captured or embarrassed they act more like how any human in that situation may react.
But, this is just my opinion from observing the show.
I always thought that the horde troopers were in the taverns and bars so they acted as a presence in the villages to stop sedition and remind the Etherians that they were slaves of the horde.
But why were they drinking???

The Snake Men are awesome, only The Horde faction is better IMO. With them being created from multiple species DNA, I would love to see more lizard inspired designs and gimmicks for new characters in the future; imagine horned lizard or the reclusive gila monster inspired snake men!

I like the army builder packs but some of the releases were awful for getting hands on them. I'm looking at you Horde 2 pack. Still one issue with a lot of these was also, having later items made for them. I can't remember the name of the character off hand, but he came with extra heads for the horde troopers, which had already been difficult to get. At least they later put out a single trooper you could order. But it's like you mentioned with Vikor and He-Ro 2. Vikor being a con exclusive (normally hard to get but not so much in Vikor's case) and needing Vikor's body to create one version of He-Ro 2. Knowing that in advance maybe we could have gotten an extra of Vikor to do that, or knowing at all since your video was the first time I think a lot of people heard of that. Plus Vikor was expensive to start with. Anyway, Went a little off track.
It was too Bad we never got any Female Army builders for like the eternian guards or other factions. Some Female Snake Men would have been sweet.
We always had plans to do single release Trooper that was suppose to go on sale along with Sundar but the new team had other plans
Oh, cripes, the Horde Trooper debacle! I got one set through my subscription, had a couple more in my cart on the day-of-sale -- I was right there, the second they were available -- and the website slowed down to a crawl, and they sold out between adding them to my cart and checking out. Then Mattel didn't bring them back until the very end, of the line. If they'd kept them evergreen, I could've bought a pack a month for a couple of years, and so could a lot of other people.

I remember being young and justifying it by assuming that some troopers were actual men in suits lol because He-Man or Adam put on the armor as a disguise once. I suppose there was a naked android laying somewhere in the woods

Aside from the subscription orders, when it came to army builder packages like this, did you order more than you typically would for Day of sale production, anticipating that it would sell more because it was an army builder or Was it no different from any other production run ie: no increase in units ordered

I have a very valid question. I just watched the very first episode of The New Adventures of He-Man after eight Decades of not seeing it on peacock streaming service. In the very first episode they said they're going to go to the Past. To get the power of the good and way of the magic and they bring back He-Man and Skeletor from the past to the Future. Now their planet is called Primus and in hemans past it is called Eternia. Now is Primus Eternia and Eternia Primus? Because the wait time travel works you cannot go across dimensions in space unless you have a TARDIS. All they had was a time machine said they went to the past the brain He-Man and Skeletor to the Future so why would you change the name of a planet from Eternia to Primus period and then later on seder different planets in Wikipedia.
No, Primus is in the tri solar system. To see it’s relation to Eternia check out the Horde Empire map!

I remember the three original troopers from that tavern scene were supposed to be various organic beings in armour; there was a scar-faced dude (Marg), a reptilian one (the one that hisses), and a hawk-like one. Then they just got changed to generic Troopers, but the voices remained distinct.
