Cant believe anyone fuses anything but president hudson signs to shields
Wait you can do that?
I destroyed them because I got sick of the idiot holding the signs
Only to find out Hudson himself is such a stand up guy that I regretted it
@@fonzie_tron7272I think they mean the wooden Hudson cutouts found in Tarrytown.
@@AA-bj1buhudson was in botw
@@AA-bj1buyou would have known if you built Tarrey Town from the ground up with him in the last game 😭😭
You can fuse a frozen fish or piece of meat to make a frictionless shield aswell. And unlike fusing gems which rely on ememies to hit you, you can use elemental like like stones, they work on shield bash which would allow you to set up a shock aoe whenever you want with and ice element fuse weapon and an electric like like shield.
Dragon scales
Yeap Frozen Meat/Fish is WAY better than cart, with the exception it's gonna get fried on lava biomes.
I always use dragon scales because it looks cool and still allows you to surf. Yet adds more friction
@@OmegaChu thing is late game, scales are needed for upgrades and they are much harder to come by in this game if you dont use glitches, having dragon parts handy for auto build is good too because zonai devices with a dragon part attached increases the range it stays spawned in
I like fussing gleok horn I farm them so
fuse a piece of butter to your shield.... it doesnt do anything but now you got butter on your shield
You make me lol so thank you for that 😄
Smartest person in this comment section
Butter dawg dawg with the butter on it
Butter shield shield with the butter on it shield with the butter on it
You got butter shield now 🧈🛡️
The best shield fusion I’ve used so far is the President Hudson cutout.
Why? Because now, I always have someone who has my back.
*cue addison yelling unforgivable*
😂
Oh,taste and see that the lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Psalm 34:8
I watched my sister beat the game with a president hudson shield it was the perfect momment
@@sakuparkkonen2959u talking about hudson?
Ruby and Sapphire shields also change the temperature around you, so you can get away with wearing one less piece of cold resistant armor. I assume other elemental materials act similarly, but I haven’t tried them.
Very useful when you don’t have elixirs or foods. I remember wearing heat resistant armor in Gerudo town and even then it was hot. The weapons dropped by those floating wizard enemies work well too. All you have to do is equip it and it works.
Only one works at a time sadly. You cant have 2 ruby on weapon and shield for 2 * cold protection 😂😅
The Ruby wand or Ruby weapon fusion is how I made it though the rest of the wind temple after my meal time ran out, and I didn’t want to teleport away and come back 😅
This game has good interactions
🤯
Uhh.. about that topaz shield...
Don't use it in the rain...
Look listen…sometimes…we make mistakes not saying I have done this and became a new hyliean light beacon…
I totally became a light beacon…
oh that's easy:
get the yiga armor at the Ancient Akkala Tech Lab, in a complicated cave just west of the Great Hyrule forest, at the southern base of Mount Drena and at the Old Man's House on the great plateau, head over to the yiga's main hideout, go to the training room while having minimum 200 rupees, defeat 3 footsoldiers for the yiga paraglider, then 6 footsoldiers (by paying 100) for the eartwake ability, then 9 footsoldiers for the thunder helm, go to whatever place is thundering with the topaz shield and wearing the thunder helm and BOOM, you won't get shocked.
it's THAT EASY :))))))9
Yo does it shock you!? 😮
You must've been pretty shocked when you found that out.
I wish they would’ve created the option to carry two swords like Riju, seeing Link with two swords would be legendary.
Well then all of Hyrule would fear him. Even Ganondorf and Zelda. Link is already powerful and crazy enough as it is. Seriously, Link will eat rocks to heal up.
@@josephmilburn8652 yes salt is important for cooking
@@jeremycheney142 He will eat flint
@@ravio5868 Exactly. At least you get it.
Yesss or hear me out , double short daggers, for closer combat and would make link look like an assassin or ninja
Insane that you forget about the President Hudson Cutout Shield.
No but really, Octo Balloon Shield. Really good for getting height without wasting rockets, and you probably fly around using the Fan Bike anyway. Breaks a few shrines, and you can take those materials out to fuse inside the shrine, instead of needing to exit the shrine just to fuse a rocket.
Another fun one is a Frost Emitter shield. Use it as a freezing sidearm before you smack enemies with your heaviest weapon, or blow them off of cliffs or into water with a Korok Frond Weapon. (Can do the latter in reverse with a Fan Shield and an Ice Weapon).
Instead if Cart Shields you can try Ice Meat shields instead. It has ice physics makes you go further than carts would. To make one, just toss anything that freezes onto a prime meat or regular meat. Doesnt work on gourmet meats tho
or throw prime or regular meats into the hebra air, it freezes them.
But carts don’t burn
Carts makes that fun little squeaking sound
don't waste gemstones on shields, use an ice or fire fruit or something !! lol
Like Like stones have no uses. Those work best as elemental shield fusions since they act like gems
@@Unusual_DangerI think they also are meant to be better in elixirs than other parts
have you ever shot one on an arrow tho?
fire/ice fruit do only have one use tho, gems can be used over and over. also gems are so easy and plentiful in this game, absolutely no need to keep hoarding them
@@TheEsparoba3 tell that to my broke ass
I love that ToTK allows you to harness the powers of those gems.
BotW let you harness the gems powers, but that required turning them into accessories
I like that the opal actually does what it says this time around. :P
@@redstonewarrior0152does that mean that my true power will awaken when i become a marketable plushy?
Tip for the cannon: if you start the cannon charge then release when it fires then activate it again it's a shorter cooldown because the first shot takes less time to charge
but it takes so much shield durability better of just activating it
@@kratosorokai1546damn durability...
This game truly is remarkable and the amount of ways you can play. It's so hard for me to break out of my ways with Ocarina and Majoras mask being my favorite Zelda games, but the sheer amount of content, replayability and sense of discovery of this game makes it my top for sure
PSA it’s best to use a cannon on a weapon (i prefer spears). when you hold R to throw it, instead of aiming to throw, you aim the cannon and when you release it will fire like a gun. the weapon doesn’t throw so you can do pretty quick fire. it’s much easier to aim than the shield and i use it to destroy giant rock walls all the time.
Instructions unclear, I cannot unfuse my finger from the subscribe button. Help.
Just go to your inventory and unfuse your phone to your finger, it might destroy your phone though, or go to tarrey town and get it unfused there
I havent unlocked the map fully and i forgot my rupees at home and my finger is my phone now help
“Destroy fused material?”
talk to pelison
Just punch some people, it’ll cause the subscribe button to break
I had no idea about the stones fusing to the shields. That sounds amazing
They’re awesome on the triple shot bows as well. Deletes groups of enemies.
if u didn't do it already than don't it's better to fuse dragon horns cause u can parry and it mixes what u get from lynel horns on shields with the benefits of gems on shields while lasting way longer
Or chuchu jelly for one time use elemental blocks. You can also hit them with the shield to activate them
While I do like the shield cart, I find the cart drains durability very quick.
Where the heck are the rocket shields in this list they are the most useful shields in the game definitely a must use
yeah they also pair well with bomb sheilds to make a discount windbomb
@@teukukeanu3078
I only remember bomb shields as that one moment in *that*... thing.
Heck yes. I missed Revali's Gale in this game. Rocket shields are a decent replacement.
Jump before the rocket ignites to gain extra height
Fuse Ruby’s to any weapon or shield and it will indefinitely keep you warm in freezing areas. I use it a lot for exploring.
An Fire Keese Eye also works!!!
Any 'hot' stuff should work (stuff that sets enemies on fire when you hit them with it), same for 'cold' stuff cooling you down
Using Frozen meat for shield surfing is better than the roller cart.
The best one in the game is the minecart. It doesn't burn in hot areas like the frozen meat
IMO Fire Ice and Electric Gleeok Shield are better than gem shields because gems get destroyed, gleeock parts don’t
gems do not get destroyed
The gleok horn are superior obviously, way harder to find.
Have you ever tried fuaing a gleok horn to a claymore ? (Any 2 handed sword works)
Try it and let me know if you cn tell how different it is.
I've gone through a few Sea Breeze Shields by now (170h) and never had a gem destroyed on them.
@@dazzlemasseur he said shields
But the gleeok parts dont activate by being attacked, instead you need to parry to use the effect.
I like gems better
The best fusion for dual wielding with the lynel saber horn is the savage lynel shield, it has crazy damage!
Im pretty sure mulduga jaw does more damage than sliver lynel saber horn if you have bone proficiency.
@@Dwooo that is probably correct, but if you're going for both a good defense, and good damage, then the lynel horn is the best choice
@@Flip-Flop1209 radiant armor still has 20 defense per piece
@@Dwooo wait what
@@Flip-Flop1209 The radiant set has bone prof as a set bonus and when fully upgraded has 20 defense per piece of the set.
That fusing your finger to the subscribe button got me as a subscriber. Clever.
Frozen fish shield /frozen meat shield > shield cart
Tony Hawk: But skateboard 🛹
Shield mine cart.... link do the tony hawk..
By that i mean rail grind, not disappear from the face of the earth for decades
Picture it: Link grinding rails while simultaneously beating the shit out of Ganon
It’d be cool if they put in an actual dual wielding ability or something as dlc, I know they won’t but y’know, it’s good to have dreams and aspirations
Link would hit himself, he's too dumb for the intelligent stuff
You can also fuse weapons onto the shield that also act as a blade when you shield bash
Imagine dual wielding 2 Master Swords
In this game tho the master sword feels weak. With the fuse system i just pivot to a powerful fuse when i need to put something down.
The shield canon is my "Fuck You" last resort when enemies just wont get off my jock.
Fuse a blue seal plushie to a royal halberd. Or better, the ice gleeok horn thingies.
I totally forgot about fusing shields. Now I’ve got more things to try.
I get jealous so badly when watching someone play TOTK. This was good to know, though.
Can't you just fuse a weapon to the shield to dual wield? I haven't played but why wouldn't you be able to
yes you can
Yes but the silver lynel horn has the highest attack out of anything fusable in the game with a base attack of 55. Plus weapons still have durability when fused to something so it would break piece by piece instead of all at once
The issue here is that the base damage if most weapons is actually lower than the base danage of many monster parts. The silver lynel horn has a 'fuse power' (attack) of 55. Comparatively, the master sword has a base attack 30 and only reaches 60 during specific boss fights. Additionally, weapons fused onto another object retain their original durability. If you were to fuse a rusted sword onto your shield, it would break pretty quickly. They did not add a durability statistic to monster parts, so that new lynel horn shield will break all at once instead of piece by piece.
TLDR: The game wants you to fuse monster part to your equipment, not other pieces of equipment, and will reward you for doing so.
What does piece by piece even mean
@@brbrlzy piece by piece as in the weapon would break before the shield does, but with monster parts (which just add durability to an item instead of having their own durability) the whole thing would break instead.
So the canon one can actually hurt you if the blast strikes below or around the shield, so it’s a little risky on top of it draining the health of the shield. But it is good on spears
Each video gets me super hyped to play after a long work day keep the content flowing
Okay I'll hit the subscribe button! [hits recall]
Nah if you want to skate but a mine cart on your shield that thing is crazy
imagine if link could actually dual wield 2 weapons in his hands that wouldve been too op
There’s that bokoblin boss with the axe 🪓 you can get. Combine that with a short blade in reverse grip .
This is the most useful video I have seen. I never thought about fusing some of these things to the shield, I thought shield fusion was just kind of a junk idea, I never thought about doing any of these things. Freezing enemies automatically seems super useful.
the lizal reapers all look so cool when paired with a broadsword but when mixed with certain claymores make you feel lile cloud
Don’t use gems stones use fruits, use freeze fruits and shock fruits
facts, sell the gems deadset for coin
@@FizzedAye Or use them for the magic rods
@@nebulous9280 Shouldn't you use the fruits on the rods instead?
I think the gems are stronger than the fruit. Like higher damage effect in regards to the magic output, idk about durability
@@FizzedAye better to use fruit or chuchu jelly on korok weapons, since the chuchu jelly will recharge instead of bursting
My friends: you don’t like shield surfing?? How do you even get around quickly in the game??
Me: Come on, Epona the Eighth, let’s go.
I can’t shield surf to save my life, took me like fifteen minutes to get a Korok atop one of the Hebra peaks…
So yeah, my horses are my babies, I just wish they could traverse more difficult terrains sometimes (or better yet, you could ride other animals, like the new Dondons or the one we saw in the teasers. No I’m TOTALLY not salty Loftwings aren’t in the game what do you mean-)
At least the Snow and Sand boots don’t require side quests in this game ^^ I’ve already had quite a bit of fun exploring Hebra and the Gerudo desert in this game. I also… am just as bad at sand seal surfing as I am shield surfing. HOW DOES ONE STEER?? 😭
Might try fusing a cart/mine carts/sled to my shields tho and see how it feels, maybe it’ll become easier. The icy meat on a shield tho sounds… even harder than regular shield surfing tho lmao I’m too noob for it
I don't like using horses cuz I don't want them to get hurt.
Love the skateboard, shield cannon's dope but breaks crazy fast, haven't tried the others but that's cool as hell
Having a fire element item fused shield will make traveling in the gerudo desert a bit easier. Not having to change out armour every night. You got voe head and armor for heat resist, sand boots to move, and fire shield for cold resist.
Instead of fusing sapphires/topaz/Ruby’s I fuse gleok horns if you shield bash they send off fire ice or electricity depending on which one you fused I save my gems and fuse them with arrows you can take out a whole enemy camp with a few gems if your high enough in the air especially with a 5X savage lynel bow
Why fuse gems to arrows when you have fruits bruh
@@frieddoorhandlesgems boom bigger
Also works with dragon parts
@@frieddoorhandles because gems are a lot stronger and the area of effect is way bigger than fruits imo fruits are a waste of inventory space they are just in the way
@@frieddoorhandles because gems have a bigger area of effect. Still I sell all of my gems even though there's nothing I want to buy.
It’s clever, but the problem is that wastes good materials and shields a lot when they break a lot faster than other weapons do when they are fused together. (Expect the Cart)
You have not lived life until you have shield surfed across sand with a peace of frozen meat
I instantly thought, "CAN YOU PARRY THAT? WITH DIFFERENT SHEILDS!"
Why put a cannon on your shield when you have robot slavery
There are people who only put in 3 when they say they'll put in 4 examples for people to point it out and get traction, you did 5 instead so I'm giving you that traction
Man, thats a really nice short
people are so ingenious, i feel very unimaginative whenever i see TotK videos cause people do the wackiest stuff
You forgot the best fuse: The Bookcase shield.
Nah, the meta shield is President Hudson Cutout Shield
I'm a fan of the Cheese Hoe
Chuchu jelly: Am I a *joke* to you?
fusing a star fragment makes you glow very brightly. very useful for depths exploration
Just bought this game as my first Zelda game and it is absolutely amazing the variety with what you can use and make
I always have a ruby and Sapphire shield with me. When I'm in an area where I need 1 heat/cold resistance equipping this will give it to me
It's better to just spend the extra 600 rupees for the extra resistance permanently
@@jeremybottoms7619 but what if I don't want to change my armour for some reason, maybe I like the buff it gives me, maybe I straight up just like how the armour looks.
@@jeremybottoms7619 if you're hoverbiking and want a bit of climate resistance but also healthily extended battery, you really don't want to switch your clothes.
I have subscribed thanks for the endless amount of content on totk 👏
Admittedly I love the uniqueness of all this combinations... but I just loved fusing a fan to a shield and blowing Bokoblins away in the first few hours of gameplay
This is a very well made short. I commend you brother
fusing a light to your shield really helps with the depths as well.
Or you could just throw Brightbloom bulbs everywhere. The game practically hands them to you.
Shield cart is worse than frozen meat shield.
Best trick
I can't believe I never thought of any of these. I'm such a vanilla type player man. Also all this stuff people are mentioning in the comments - it's so crazy how much creativity this game allows you. Folks are getting results by playing the game completely differently from each other.
A very interesting shield fusion is the wing, your shield jump gets you high enough to bullet time (so it’s just pocket bullet time basically)
I already fused topza to one of my shields to help me fight the gbidos.
You should probably take a stop at Tarry Town before that shield breaks. It’ll be worth your time
@@davidhower7095 will it though? Gems sell so much weaker these days. Is 60 worth it?
Wow just wow. Too much freedom lol😅
A really good shield fusion I use all the time is a wing to the Hylian shield. If you shield jump with it it gives a bullet time. Really helps with lynels and other strong enemies.
Thanks for sharing I love them all!!
I can wait to try them
Mirror shield is honestly op. It only works in clear day skies or under a light source but it shines a beam that if aimed at the enemy will make them drop their weapons and stop moving for a few seconds and it's especially good in the gerudo boss fight allowing you to deal with the smaller enemies much easier
Which of the 5 do we NOT have to try? 😅
the gem one cause it's a waste when u can use dragon horns instead
The gems are better before you get dragon horns or gleeok horns
Him: 4 sheild fusions that you must try! Also him: explains 5 sheild fusions.
I found that fusing a sled to a shield instead of a cart works better
Depends on the terrain! I have two shield-surfing shields, one w a sled for grass/snow/sand, and one w a minecart for regular ground
Fuse like-like stones and you can take advantage of the elemental power earlier in combat by shield bashing. For example, an ice like-like stone can freeze enemies before they get to close to attack you in the first place. So it’s nice to shield bash (incapacitate your enemy) and immediately go in for an attack :D
Would the topaz shield make a lynel drop his weapon?
They aren't affected by elements right?
@@dolphin082 yeah as far as I rmb they don’t get affected
I wish they allowed Link to dual wield. Riju can dual wield so why can't the Legendary Swordsman, Link?
My brother discovered the minecart shield on his first playthrough, it was honestly incredible and surprised me and my friend who's a huge TOTK nerd it was so great
The cannon is probably cool but the bomb shield is more personal
I use the talus ice heart on the shield instead of a weapon does what the sapphire does. Also has lasted me really longg
Different items don't actually affect durability differently, no matter what you fuse to a weapon, it always adds the same amount, depending on the base weapon, usually 25
@@Trashley652 oh really, it would make sense to me that a talus heart would be more durable than let's say a rock or decayed weapon but IG not
@@AD-xn7pt Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed that fusion durability works in such an uninteresting way
@@Trashley652 Yeah on a Weapon. But he talks about shields

If you are a kid; I feel you. I would usually have to wait until christmas or my birthday for a game when I was little.
If you are an adult; you need a job my friend.
@@ajayr1383 i am in fact a kid and i already have alot of money saved up because i work everday so i could buy it without problem, the issue is that my parents wouldnt allow me to buy a 70 dollar game because the maximum price for a game i can buy as my parents said is 30
@@Mr_Excuse how often are you allowed to buy a 30 dollar game? maybe next time you get a game you could tell your parents you would like to save the 30 for Tears of the kingdom and continue till you have the 70?
also fun fact, you can attach a shield to any weapon (this includes heavy weapons and spears) and allows you to block, which means you can put a shield on a royal guards claymore
Here before it blows up
Why is he talking in all caps?
Why ruby and sapphire.......fire chu chu jelly and ice chu chu jelly or ice fruit and fire fruit work just the same why use something that u need
Are the gemstones consumed on use? Because the jellies and fruits are
If it’s anything like fire like like stones, I think gems are when you get hit vs when you are having to shield bash. But I’m not sure
@@kanyenortheast3546 just tested it both out gems aren't consumed and have a bigger range than fruits
Chu chu jellies and fruits are 1 use only. Stones last until your weapon breaks.
just use a talus heart
Something I haven’t seen anyone use is a time bomb shield it’s genuinely fun to use because if you just hold block you take no damage from it
My favorite is an igneus talus stone heart. It makes your shield capable of breaking ore deposit rocks, it warms the temp around you in cold areas to make you have to use warm armor less, and even melts ice just by standing next to it! Also shield bash to let out a burst of fire to start fires. Been my favorite shield fusion so far
One question; do all of these cost weapon usage?
Yes
@@-AmPO I see, thanks
DONT use gems- there are better monster parts that do the same things. the ONLY unique gem element is the Opal, but that just shoots water. not the best combat tool. has its uses, but still.
save your gems for rod, scepters, & staves, or for selling. ESPECIALLY don’t waste them on an arrow.
Nah gems are so common now. Saphire or ruby on shield negates the need for a lot of armour switxhes or elixers in cold or hot areas. Ruby arrows especially on multi shot bows are just down right broken
Opal isnt even unique normal chu jelly is the water affect
I do so many caves and Talus fights and keep some kinda rock crusher on me that I always have plenty of each. I do sell most diamonds though.
Opal arrows are great though. Especially the duplex opal with help from what you get in the desert.
I use the multiplier glitch so I have plenty of them 😂❤
Another good one is a frost gleeok horn when you parry it will freeze enemys
Love your vids
First one I actually discovered for myself last night and whoa boy, that’s friggin great!!!

Fusing a bomb (either bomb flower or time bomb) and shield jumping propels you into the air, and you take not damage
that transition to the subscribe button was too smooth 😔
Mmm, not really.
That subscribe fusion was so op it killed every enemy in the game
Fuse an apple to your shield: congrats, you just got the iShield
Fuse a shield to a two handed weapon to block and attack at the same time without switching
