Miranda, Rainer, Kyle, Chelsea and Andrew - very special pollitos! This brings back such warm memories of adventuring together. And what great timing- I’m on my way back to Honduras this Thursday, and I can’t wait to share this with WWB Team Honduras and as many Water Women as we can find! You entered so beautifully and humbly into the world of our Water Women. A heartful THANKS to and for all of you. And Miranda - thanks especially for lending your voice and your whole self to Water Women - that makes you one of us! We love you all!
Gracias por todo, Hermana Larraine, y gracias Miranda (y su equipo) por compartir esta historia. I already own a Sawyer squeeze, so instead of buying another, I just went and donated directly, and encourage everyone who can to do the same. El amor salvará al mundo!
As a honduran, I want to thank firstly sister Larraine for helping underprivileged people in my country. Secondly to SAWYER, for providing the means to improve people’s lives here, and lastly to you Miranda, for pointing me in a direction (previously unknown to me) in which I can also help. I am an REI member, and on my next trip to the USA, I’ll make sure to buy some filters to try and replicate sister’s Larraine work.
I went out and bought a Sawyer after I heard them on The Outdoor Evolution podcast. They mentioned how they'd donated filters to Canadian First Nations reserves that had boil water advisories for over 20 years. The Canadian government keeps promising they'll get treatment plants built (or fix the broken ones) and they just never get around to it. So Sawyer stepped up and gave them filters. Many thanks to Sawyer for everything they do around the world, and even right here in North America, to give people clean water to drink. And for all of us backpackers who have the privilege to buy them, so we also have clean water while we're out on trail. Thank you, Miranda and crew, ❤ for showing us this. And for showing us just how many times we should be backflushing our filters! 😲
Two SASR (Australian Special Forces) and a handful of UNHCR workers I'm friends with all use the Sawyer Squeeze or the Katadyn Vario, and they advise against every other water filter brand out there - That should tell you all you need to know about Sawyer and Katadyn and their 'competition' (if you can even call them that).
That's great to hear. The Canadian government's lack of response to giving our first nation clean drinking water is inexcusable. I have a larger capacity filter for our family's backpacking but I will buy a Sawyer as backup for our day hikes.
I'm not crying, you're crying! No, wait, we're BOTH crying! This touches my public health heart in so many ways. I especially love that, while of course Sawyer plays a critical role in this and should be recognized (will be ordering them for my home emergency kit and bugout bag STAT) you kept the focus on the Honduran woman without whom the filters would just be so much plastic trash. Too many times corporations and organization parachute in like great white saviors and fail to make the connections needed to make their donations and programs meaningful and successful--so again, Kudos to Sawyer, BUT yes, Miranda, you nailed it, it is the women who take on the responsibility for filtering water not just for their own but for other households and for training other water women that actually make the program work. Thank you for recognizing and highlighting that. Going to go sob in a corner now...
I realize that this is all a sacrifice to the gods of algorithm with the title of the video being least informative and most marketing-like, but I wish it could still convey a bit more what the video is about. 95% of the reason I clicked on it was suspiciously long duration (knowing Miranda videos), and I'd be sad if I had missed it only because of the title that has 'BUY' in it and not a clue as to what an important and pivotal initiative it is REALLY about. All that being said, a great video and tremendous work that they are doing and you guys did to highlight it, spreading awareness. Cheerios
The common thread that runs through all of this, from the water women to The development and use of the Sawyer filter to the production of your wonderful videos, is EDUCATION. None of this would be possible without education. Live to learn and teach.
When you went into Maria's home to do the GIS survey - I kinda lost it. When she went in to tearfully say goodbye to all the people in her home and she made a point to hug the man behind the camera ; . ; that would be so overwhelming to have so many people in your home, asking you questions and filming you, she was so gracious and kind and open. Truly remarkable.
I have known Sr Loraine for 35-40 years since she taught my children here in Western Ky. We here have supported Sr ever since she started Warter Women. That has been our Lenten Alms giving project to help provide clean water to those in need. Sr Lorine has been a tremendous person of service to those in need.
I love that tip about banging the filter on your palm. It makes a huge difference. I have a relatively new filter that I have taken on a handful of trips. I actually used it this morning on a slightly longer day hike and hadn't cleaned it yet after getting home. The water I filtered on the trail this morning was from a nice clear pool of water in a creek. I back flushed it once and got a little grime, but it went clear relatively quick. I tapped a few times and back flushed again. It was worse than the first back flush. There was definitely gunk and grime in my filter from previous trips. This is a game changer. Thanks!
Great video. My big takeaways are, water is a human right and being able to buy a new filter when I don't take care of the old one is a privilege. The visual for the impact of the cleaning process was fantastic. It's easy to say "clean your filter" but seeing the process combined with the proof of how long the filter can last if you just take care of it was fantastic.
Thank You Miranda, Loved this segment, it's not just about women helping other women; it's all about people helping other people to the basic human right of clean drinking water! We are in the process of selecting a water filter for backpacking, Sawyer's work in these Latin American countries (and elsewhere) just sold us on Sawyer filters.
This made me mildly tear up, haha. This is awesome work, "Water with Blessings" and Sawyer! How wonderful to help provide clean water for people who need it. For all those people here saying this is just an ad and Sawyer is pushing its products, so what if it is? The product works great, and they're doing great things for many different communities. How can that be a bad thing? I like knowing that companies I support do good with their profits.
Bravo! Thanks for promoting the concept of clean water in poorer countries. I have been involved in promoting water projects through Church World Service. In 2006 and again in 2007 we got to visit water projects throughout Kenya and also in Uganda. It was amazing how a simple well or other water project which provides clean water can totally transform a community. There are the obvious health benefits, but also it frees people in many ways, especially the women and girls. They have the responsibility of getting water and can end up walking miles every day to fetch water. With a local clean water supply, much time is freed up for other activities and girls get to stay in school longer. God bless you for doing this video.
What a fantastic documentary about these water women of Honduras. Congratulations to the whole team, the nun and all the women who have cared for their community. I was just about to buy my filter and now, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to do that. Thank you, Sawyer!
Sawyers PR team is doing a great job sharing the work they do. Not a knock at all, loved watching this video and Dan Beckers. When I visit my family in Brasil, those office water dispensers are in almost every home. Never thought about buying Sawyer filters so they don't need to keep buying water. Will definitely be bringing a bunch in my luggage next trip.
Same here. I have family in Mexico who drinks the tap water because they can’t afford the filtered water. I need to figure out how I can make a bucket for em like this so they can filter their own
stunning use of your channel! Grateful to learn a plastics product can be used continuously without filling up the landfills and provide fresh clean water for years. What a wonderful world!
I was deciding on my first backpacking water filter a few months ago. I seen a similar video from another TH-camr Dan Becker in Africa. Bought a Sawyer squeeze the next day. We definitely take clean water for granted here in the USA. We literally poop in purified water. I try and remember that every time I’m having a bad day.
36:29 I just watched your entire video and I had tears in my eyes. I own a Sawyer Water Filter but haven’t used it “for real” yet. I mainly got it for emergencies. However, I’m recovering from an ankle replacement surgery and I love to hike so I’m going to use it on the trail. But that’s not the most amazing thing. Just this morning a group from Knoxville, TN (where I live) left on a mission trip to Honduras. They will be work with those struggling with addiction in communities and places of incarceration. I would have been on that trip except for my surgery. I can’t wait to tell them about the “Water Women” and share your video. Thank you for posting this and I’m forever a fan of “Sawyer”!! “May you be richly blessed for your care and compassion. May you feel God’s love in return like the Water Women felt as they received the filters!! In Jesus’s Holy name, Amen.” 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏✝️
This is an amazing video. So cool to see how they make the Sawyer filters last so long and educating the world about clean water. Most people take for granted having clean water. Clean water is a healthy life. Love the Sawyer filters.
Thank you so much for not only sharing about this, but for the opportunity to team up and sponsor Water Women! Our first donation has been sent and I can't wait to continue helping these women, these communities, this mission!
Fantastic video! I went to Honduras with my mom (a nurse) and Doctors Without Borders in 2008. Since I don't have medical training, I mostly helped mix concrete out in the villages for properly ventilated cooking stoves to go in the homes. I'm so grateful for all the various groups providing aid to the amazing people of Honduras!
Hey Miranda Met you at trail days Said I knew you from youtube but forgot your name.Well I dont think I will ever forget your name after watching this video. This really blew me away, not what I was expecting. You've brought awesome to a whole other level
This is an extraordinary video! I have been aware in the past that Sawyer does a lot to benefit others with clean water but I had no idea of the scale and this was just at one country. I was also astonished to see how long these filters last with proper care. I watch lots of long-course hikers and many will get several new ones along the AT or PCT or others. It's great to know the right way to care for them!
Water is life. Women are more in touch with water because we create life. So water women have a sacred duty. They help many people. It was a wonderful video to see water women of other cultures! Thanks for this. Sharing your vid with my friends!
Great video. I hiked in La Tigra National Park back in 1999 when our family our family volunteered to build housing with Church World Service. I am also a hydrologist and I took a simple water filter which screwed on as a cap for a water bottle. The group thought I was crazy, but I wanted to test my filter in less than pristine conditions (not like our Colorado mountain streams). I drank from taps, from rivers, from wells, while the rest of the group drank only bottled water. I was fine.
31:22 This is an incredible documentary. A must see! The Sawyer filtration company is doing such a commendable job providing a much needed resource to so many families in need of clean, potable water. And I even learned a few things about maintaining my own water filter. Thanks!
I cried so much... I can't even explain why. I'm really grateful for the effort put into this video and for the information on back flushing our water filters to extend their lives. Thank you!!
Wow... Im just feeling very hunbled and surprised about the contet of this video! Is SO much better than a "at home, experienced talk". This way of sharing the important knowledge sticks so well in my head cuz of these stories. I'm very humbled by it ❣️ Great job "Miranda Goes Outside" team 🥳🙏
I love all your videos! From the beginning to now but I really love when you are free to be yourself (earliest were great but traditionally conservative). I appreciate you more and more as I watch. Thank you for being you and doing what you do.
My husband and I did a Safe Water Sabbatical. I did a small fundraiser to buy 15 bucket filters and gave them to families and villages as we traveled. Your video was absolutely fantastic! It motivates me as a hiker to again give back. I was not a hiker at the time but I am now and just this weekend realized how blessed we are to filter stream water and what a privilege it is to have these filters. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hugely important video. Sawyer is doing great work around the world. I feel privileged to be able to use thier filters in my hobby hiking. Good job getting the word out, not just about they're doing, but also in how impasto it is.
Another great video about the Sawyer bucket program. I first saw the video put out by @danbecker. What I liked about yours, Miranda, was the in-depth look at the process at getting the filters to communities and then educating the water women. I am heading to a remote area of Nicaragua and want to bring this program to that community. I believe Sawyer and Amparo International are in communication. This is such an important humanitarian mission. I’ll be sharing the link of this video with the founder of Amparo. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am a firm believer in Sawyer. This is a great video. Too many have no idea how lucky we are to have clean, fresh and safe water. Very touching celebration. You always have to watch out when visiting these areas because too often end up leaving all you stuff behind, including your heart for them, because there is such a need. Awesome that the daughters of one of the ladies have received a good education too. Miranda is so tender hearted. Literally this is saving people's lives. Sawyer should be proud of their efforts.
Not me crying with you. This was a wonderful break from your normal content, I loved every second of this and got emotional a lot. xoxo thank you for what you do, huge thanks to the Water Women and the greatest blessings to them all.
You're the 2nd popular youtuber that's talked about Sawyer Squeeze filters and the work they're doing in third-world countries. Not that I mind. I think it's great they're working to provide clean water to so many people, and I've owned and used the Squeeze filter for years as a backpacker.
Miranda, this is probably the best thing that I've seen on TH-cam. I was amazed to find this program by Sawyer, and was emotional right along with you. I have a Sawyer Squeeze, and will take care of it. I also donated to Water With Blessings. Thank you for posting this video. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Miranda you are so awesome! Using your extensive platform to highlight this program is excellent. Subsequently we are working on a way to donate a bunch of filters. Can you steer us to the appropriate person? Thanks!
Wow this was an awesome video. Loved it. Coming from a Native American reservation where water is still an issue. It is nice to see the great strides in water systems. Thanks for sharing. Viva water women!!
Amazing video that explains the Water With Blessings mission so well. Thanks to Miranda and her team and Sawyer for making this very educational and important video!
Sobbing through out this ……. So simple yet so effective, it really makes me realise how for granted intake having fresh water on hand. I will remember this every time I now use my sawyer ❤❤
This is the best video y'all have ever done! It is definitely a privilege to have clean drinking water here in the US- something not a lot of people think about. Please do more of these videos! Who's cutting onions?... 💙
Most beautiful and humble video I’ve seen in a long time! I’ve been on the hunt to purchase my first water filter for backpacking. After looking at reviews and features, I was leaning toward buying a platypus. This video with the companies, ethics and generosity, I will definitely be getting a Sawyer squeeze!
Beautiful video. Don't forget to protect your filter from freezing. I left mine in my van through our Arizona winter that had freezing nights. It no longer works. Make a reflexit sleeve and insert your filter in that at night. Take it into your sleeping bag with you.
Hey! I watched this vid on Monday, and got my Sawyer today....Tell 'em I'll never get another water filter again either and thank you for what that company is doing!! BTW I have three kiddos and my GF has two kiddos, and They're getting one each for Christmas this year too! Thanks again, Girl!
Miranda what a wonderful experience… I am going to buy one and make it last for years.. I went with my son to Colombia which was a wonderful experience to me.😍 Not knowing any Spanish at all. I drive a school bus so have my summers free IF you ever want to bring an adventurous women along.. Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine 🥰
Wow! I just found you again after you left REI.... I missed your amazingness, and the wonderful things you bring to the outdoors and to those who love the outdoors. This video is next level and there is something so affirming about this. Thank you. and to go all NUN on you.... I am so grateful for you, and so grateful for my privilege and my ability to sponsor a water woman. Keep on keeping on. I love your show!
Dang dude, what an great, moving and empowering video documentary. There is something very sacred when it comes to "Water and Women" You and your team have raised the bar with this one. I just pulled my water filter out of my bag and hugged it!
Hi Miranda... My wife is from Honduras.... We just got back from our trip a 3 weeks ago. Born and raised here in the US we take so many things for granted. What a great video... Thank you!
What a powerful video - just donated $100 in the name of Miranda Goes Outside. Many thanks for showing the great work of Sawyer and the impact of clean water.
Hello Miranda, I just wanted to say this was a really great video. I think what Sawyer is doing is amazing and thanks for bring it to us. I will never take my Sawyer for granted again.
Way to make me tear up. One of your best yet. It's always amazing how the simple things we take for granted can have such huge impacts in other places. Thanks for reminding us of our shared humanity.
Thank you Miranda, you really opened my eyes to the great need of clean drinking water in the world. Thanks to Sawyer and to you and to your team. You are a light in the world❤
Spent time in rural Honduras near El Salvador when in training and of course we filtered our water but amazed to learn that there is such a need in such large cities!
I really love my Sawyer squeeze. Although now I’m wondering if I do backflush it enough. 🤔 Thanks for the helpful tips! Always glad to support products that have a positive impact.
So grateful and thankful for this video. 1000s of lives will be saved from this! Miranda, I’m so proud of this!!
And her title didn’t make it seem like Sawyer is bad! Imagine that.
Sawyer is "The Truth."
Blessings to all who bring these basic essentials to humanity.

@Dan Becker
your Sawyer video also highlighted how you learned The Truth with Sawyer Ministry.
Welcome the 'prodigal son' when he turns around.
Dan Becker moment
Your Sawyer video was also incredible Dan

That's great to hear. The Canadian government's lack of response to giving our first nation clean drinking water is inexcusable. I have a larger capacity filter for our family's backpacking but I will buy a Sawyer as backup for our day hikes.
Not strictly a Canadian problem. Ask the people in Flint, Michgan.

That comment about feeling gratitude each time we drink water was powerful.
I'm 29. I've been on TH-cam almost every day since around 2007. This is one the most uplifting videos I have ever watched. Thank you Miranda & Co!
Loved this! I am a Junior high teacher and I can’t wait to show this video to my students about how clean water is accessed around the world!

I'm very humbled by it ❣️
Great job "Miranda Goes Outside" team 🥳🙏
Sawyer is doing great work all over the world. Thanks for sharing their story.
Beautiful video!! Thank you for sharing this information. Blessings to all, may all humans have the right to clean water.
Thank you, Sawyer, for being a staple in water purification...
Thank you for sharing your feelings, Miranda. Gives me a little bit of hope for humanity.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
ohhh wowww that's just sooo great!! I hope you'll come back with movies and memories for us all!
Such an inspiring video and a great example of the private sector working hand in hand with local communities. ❤
Thank you so much!! They are doing amazing work - I'm so grateful I got to be a small part of it.
This video with the companies, ethics and generosity, I will definitely be getting a Sawyer squeeze!
wow. at times I've given harsh feedback on your channel... but this was a really good, informative video.
Beautiful video. Don't forget to protect your filter from freezing. I left mine in my van through our Arizona winter that had freezing nights. It no longer works. Make a reflexit sleeve and insert your filter in that at night. Take it into your sleeping bag with you.
I lost mine in a big freeze when all the electricity went out of 2 weeks. I’m glad I only need it for hiking and backpacking.
I had no idea Sawyer was doing such amazing humanitarian work! Thanks for making this incredible video!
Hey! I watched this vid on Monday, and got my Sawyer today....Tell 'em I'll never get another water filter again either and thank you for what that company is doing!! BTW I have three kiddos and my GF has two kiddos, and They're getting one each for Christmas this year too! Thanks again, Girl!
Awesome job! This is You Tube at its frugin best!!!! Thank you team!
I stand by the fact that this is easily one of the best channels on this platform, and this episode solidifies that.

Spent time in rural Honduras near El Salvador when in training and of course we filtered our water but amazed to learn that there is such a need in such large cities!
