I believe there’s a specific reason why Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi were chosen to represent MC Ballyhoo & Big Top.
These four are the only characters to be playable in EVERY entry in the Mario Party series, with Advance having the smallest roster, only consisting of them.
They’re also usually the first four characters in every roster

We're finally done with base-game Mario spirits! That's 8.8% of the total spirits in this game! Woohoo!
In all seriousness, moving on to a new series of spirits after so long is like a breath of fresh air. And the number of Donkey Kong spirits doesn't seem too bad compared to the Mario series.
You missed the other reference with the lugis that represent the poltergust 5000 they also reference to the common ghost luigi regularly in counters in all the Luigi Mansion games.
I always forget how much Mario is in Smash until I remember they have nine characters (sixteen if you count the Koopalings), seventeen stages, over ninety songs (with a decent chunk of them being remixes), and well over a hundred Spirits.

I had an idea for the next episodes. Maybe you could collaborate with other creators that know a lot about/ are super fans of a specific series and have them as guests. It would make your workload way less intense and maybe they could add more info about references you might not have caught yourself with series you're personally not familiar with.
Unless you want to keep the challenge of doing everything yourself or course.

The choice of Wario for Eggplant Man also references how the game's antagonist, Foreman Spike, was somewhat of a predecessor for Wario, with Wario even getting Spike's digger truck in Mario Kart DS.
The reason why Wario may have been chosen to represent Eggplant Man may be because of his resemblance to Foreman Spike, the main antagonist from Wrecking Crew.

For the Super Mario Striker Waluigi spirit the design of the spirit itself actually come from Super Mario Strikers Charged and not the original game

I’m appalled that Paper Mario has only 12 Spirits, and only 3 of them were helpers, well one of them Vivian but still!
I remember the first time I took on the spirit battle for Mario from Mario tennis aces. My goodness was that Spirit battle such a pain in the ass and it's primarily is because of the damn pong assist trophy or color TV game. It isn't the most challenging Spirit to get but wow did it get annoying having to get bounced around by the damn pong
Technically if you think about it, the spirits for the DK, Yoshi, and Wario series could all count as Mario series spirits, since those 3 individual series kind of deviated from the Mario series itself.

Very small complaint but shouldn't characters like Kid and Rabbid Mario count as RPG characters?
I imagine you are the one playing the fights for each segment so I have to ask, why didn't you pick Bowser when fighting MC Ballyhoo and Big Top? He's the villain of Mario Party and would have made a lost of thematic sense, like how Piranha Plant fought Petey. Keep up the series!
