    As always, great advice. And yes, would love to hear your top pick hotels at different ports (Vanc, BC, SEA, Frt Lauderdale, as well as international). Thank you!

      Is there one you are going to first?
      For Fort Lauderdale - I'd do Embassy Suites or the Holiday Inn Express (Which is cheaper)
      For Vanc - I'd do Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel

    Hi there! Can you tell me the best hotel near Mobile, Alabama cruise port? We’re driving from Atlanta so something with parking and walking distance to the terminal would be great. Thanks so much.

    We were going to sail down the Pacific Coast next year to Mexico, but switched from Vancouver to Yokohama, Japan instead. 13 Nights on Noordam, saving $1,300. Last May we stayed at the Loden Hotel for $440. We used our American Express $200 hotel credit, and we were given $160 CAD in incidentals. For next year, since the prior cruise will be 14 Nights Alaska, similar to what we just did, the Amex perks could come in handy. If there's another noro outbreak, and a delay for deep cleaning, late checkout will be nice. We typically lean towards Hilton or IHG, 4.0 ratings.

      Thanks so much for the comment! Looks like you have it all figured out.
      Do you have the Hilton credit card? I was actually debating getting the Hilton credit card or the Marriott credit card soon...I can't decide!

    • @thejokerspeaks
      @thejokerspeaks ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cruisetipswithchristina I have the Hilton Aspire credit card, as well as the Hilton Business (for shipping). I'm biassed because Marriott lost our loyalty, but the Aspire is extremely lucrative with the free night, resort credit (even some mid-tier locations count), airline incidental credit, and status. I don't think the Surpass is bad either if you can spend $15,000 per year, similar to the business version. Hotel cards are probably the most lucrative, so Marriott, IHG, and Hyatt are all good alternatives.

    HI CRISTINA
    Have you heard any thing about a replacement for the one step dance show. Have not change this show for 4 years. Going on Statemdam in November. Thank you? Harvey

      Last cruise I was on they did an interview with the dancers and they said they had a whole set of new shows coming out in 1-2 months...which was back in February I think...so it seems like they should Definitely have new shows by November (I would hope!!!)

    I'm actually spending 2 days on either end of my cruise in Ft Lauderdale because of my unfamiliarity with the area and the fact I'm taking a train rather than flying in. Trains can be notoriously late so I wanted to make sure in the worst possible case scenario I'll still make my cruise. I'm going to be staying at the Embassy Suites near the cruise terminal and that seems to be a decent distance from the cruise terminal, plus there's a Publix nearby that in case I forget toiletries or something like that, I can grab some without breaking the bank

    • @cruisetipswithchristina
      @cruisetipswithchristina  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! The Embassy Suites is right near everything. I've walked by it a lot. In addition to Publix, there are lots of places to eat, a TJ Maxx (I love going there for a cute swimsuit cover up or sunglasses or flip flops for the cruise), and other things. I think the Embassy Suites there has a really nice pool too! You will have a great time relaxing before you get to relax on a cruise!

      Close to cruise port, good location, good breakfast, and great staff. There is a group of hotels about 3 blocks north...I wouldn't stay there...looks like those are near clubs and loud.

      I will be staying at the President's hotel, 15 minutes by car to the port but, it is worth it for me, was recommended by a Greek friend who stays there every year, the best customer service will be your best stay, stayed at the Hyatt last year not impressed and the customer service was lacking.(my humble and personal experience). Also if you want to stay very close to the port there is a gate hotel athens (4 * hotel) usually sells out fast.

    Anchorage cruise port

    • @cruisetipswithchristina
      @cruisetipswithchristina  ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like hotels in Anchorage can be somewhat pricey, and the hotels close to the cruise port don't get great reviews (they get really bad reviews!!). Anchorage is tough!! You need to stay a bit farther out, and even then many of the hotels that I thought would be good had pretty bad reviews on Trip Advisor. The only one I found that got good reviews (and nothing horrible!) was Staybridge Suites Anchorage: www.booking.com/hotel/us/staybridge-suites-anchorage.en.html?aid=7921728&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2
