I know no friends that could tell me what stroke play is vs skins vs four ball etc. Let alone knowing what, "he was two strokes down going into Sunday" means. Some people need to get on their golf jargon hard core.
I recall when Tiger played in Europe and people were overjoyed as his ball rolled into the water, he was dismayed. But he didn't write it into scripture. He let it go and finished his business. Players should learn to play the game, not the person. And golf is a game which is played individually, no obustruction, no kicking, you're practically by yourself. Why should you care what the other person is doing?! The young guy felt entitled! He had his problems. Nobody refused him to WIN!!
Choke-ee-o Garcia was never a big enough of a challenger for Woods to even be concerned about him. You have to challenge the greatest to be a threat and Garcia never was consistent enough to ever consistently challenge Woods.
I'm glad Sergio Garcia ultimately disappointed as a pro golfer. Dude was a total prima donna punk. Also, Tiger looks so faded on painkillers at 6:10 ... I'm guessing dude's struggles with opiates started even before the surgeries...

He might even be Hall of Fame worthy without his PGA Tour wins. Hes by far the best Ryder Cup player of all time and has 25 pro wins in non PGA Tour events despite playing on the PGA Tour most of his career. It is disappointing tho for sure when you look at all that international success and only see 11 PGA Tour wins tho
Interestingly, though not noted, was that at Bethpage in 2002, Tiger actually got the worst end of the draw on the first two days scoring/condition wise which made Garcia's whining that much more ridiculous.
Correction: many of these golfers made more money BECAUSE of Tiger Woods. He drove viewership and purses up. Ask any PGA Tour Pro.

Seth we need a Rewinder on a famous golf moment there’s never been one. Tiger, Phil, Payne Stewart all have some good moments.
Tiger Woods spent 13 YEARS (over 680 weeks) at number one including a consecutive stretch of over 5 YEARS. He missed eleven (10+1) cuts in 25ish years as a pro. Sergio who???
just going to remind you that he's made millions hitting a round ball into a hole, and you're here on TH-cam.
I always felt like Tiger's true rival (other than himself) was Phil. And they seemed to dislike each other, as well. But it seemed like they were more outwardly respectful of each other than Tiger and Sergio.
Hey SB Nation, huge fan of your content for years now! If I could suggest some future videos:
Beef History: Colts vs. Patriots, Steelers vs. Ravens, Rangers vs. Islanders or Devils, I'd say Dodgers vs. Braves is starting to heat up now that Freeman switched teams
Rewinder: Philly Special, Suns WCF game winner (I forgot who scored it, I think it was Deandrye Ayton)
Collapse: Seahawks (I've got a feeling the channel is already making that video) | "How the '85 Bears shuffled away countless opportunities to build a dynasty" | the 2015 Royals "How baseball's strangest champions were destroyed in record time" | "How a Spurs dynasty that lasted decades has begun to crumble" | "How the Chicago Blackhawks fell from the NHL's modern dynasty into a dark, horrifying scandal"
Another series idea I have is "Champions are Made, not Born", where you could examine how teams that spent years being awful were built into champions, showcasing the drafting, trades, and free agent signings needed to build the club into winners. The rams this year are a strong example of that.
wow look at all of these mediocre ideas
@@joshgobble Chicago fan?
Damn, it's a shame Sergio had to go and make the fried chicken comment, cause he was the fun kind of annoying until then. But even with the context of race being treated differently in Spain, there's no way he didn't know why that was messed up to say, especially after it had already been thrown at Tiger once.
"the context of race being treated differently in Spain" : they kind of invented transatlantic slavery ?!!!!
@@720zaka Oh for sure, but most of Europe has the situation that they don't actually have many POC, and especially not many black people, specifically because their empires were where they sent slaves, so race is less prevalent in the public conscience, however unfortunate that is.
@@jordanfry5138 nah. They do. And they're very racist about it ;)
@@jordanfry5138 Europeans are racist on a level that would make the American south blush
Wait, a bird interfered with their shot on the 13th hole? Is this commonplace or just par for the course
I believe to this day Sergio dressed in all yellow to resemble a banana. Prove me wrong
Did I actually hear a golf crowd described as “rowdy”. In comparison to what, chess crowds?
Imagine being so talented yet solely hating Tiger because of his fame and success. And he got creamed constantly and all he could do is whine
I love how they keep to the norm. As in you need to know about the sport and the intricacies of how normal game play works.
I remember some of this beef even though I've never really followed golf. Maybe it's because of that, but it felt easy to take Tiger's side.
Sergio’s laugh face is exactly like Tom Cruise’s
Nah, more like Tweety Bird
Tiger was so good, he was inside of his opponents' heads without even talking to them, and Garcia suffered him for all his carreer
That handshake at the end looks like, SG: "Really sorry 'bout the fried chicken crack!" TW: "Apology accepted, but I ain't forgettin' that, Jack."
Sergio had the nerve to poke the Tiger during his prime. And he paid dearly.
Choke-ee-o Garcia was never a big enough of a challenger for Woods to even be concerned about him. You have to challenge the greatest to be a threat and Garcia never was consistent enough to ever consistently challenge Woods.
Does anyone know the piano piece that is playing in the background of the first few minutes of the video? Great video as always!
this is so tame compared to beef in other sports
Most polite beef ever lol
It’s criminal how phenomenal these guys were, especially Phil & Vijay but just being overshadowed by Tiger’s stupid greatness
Tiger was focused to be the best ever. Garcia was too focused on beating Tiger.
I'm glad Sergio Garcia ultimately disappointed as a pro golfer. Dude was a total prima donna punk. Also, Tiger looks so faded on painkillers at 6:10 ... I'm guessing dude's struggles with opiates started even before the surgeries...
Sergio let too many major championship Sundays get away from him. Honestly did have the talent but nowhere near as strong as Tiger where it mattered most: between the ears.
Well said.
Sergio Garcia may be the only person in sports to be hall-of-fame worthy, but also a big dissapointment.
I remember a lot of people saying the same thing about Greg Norman before Garcia's choking narrative took a more definite shape
Definetly deserves more likes. Good video.
Nobody was gonna challenge Tiger in those days….it was as if a player from 2022 came back in time to 1999 to play.
Interestingly, though not noted, was that at Bethpage in 2002, Tiger actually got the worst end of the draw on the first two days scoring/condition wise which made Garcia's whining that much more ridiculous.
the 10 first seconds, feel so sorry for all these athletes still on the grind
I cant wait for the Brian Flores vs the NFL Beef History
Great video! Need more golf beef
Beef in golf? The most boring sports next to chess? What's next?
This video reminds me of my love life problem, but sadly for me I am Sergio Garcia in this story.
two of my favorite golfers.
