That was a great Roscommon team,packed with quality,Dermot Early,Jigger O Conner and Harry Keegan,deserved to an All Ireland title,ran the great Kerry team to a mere 3 points and their matches against Armagh in 77 and 80 were classics

It was the longest period that neither Galway or Mayo were not Connacht champions.

Mayo did not win a Connacht title in the seventies. A great decade for the Ros.

There wasn't a back door or late stops in those times Galway made their Connacht titles go ahead of Mayo in their 3 in a row (1982-1984) & 2 in a row (1986-1987) of course.
