    To extend your argument, it seems that being a foundling creates a break of the Mandalorian duality of heritage and culture and their armor (specifically the helmet) hides the fact that they are not Mandalorian by heritage. Mandalorians could thus accept a foundling as Mandalorian in sort of a don't ask, don't tell fashion. If this is "the way", then, for a foundling to remove their helmet would be a public telling that they are not Mandalorian by heritage and thus could force them to be disavowed. Once this was done there would be now way to return to the original acceptance.

      The reason those other Mandalorians take their helmets off, is because they're part of Death Watch. They're Mandalorian by blood, not by creed, and they don't follow the Mandalorian code (because they're terrorists lead by the dark side, exiled from Mandalore).

      Also when you become an U.S. citizen from a different country you pledge allegiance to the U.S. forsaking all other nations including where you were originally from, at least that's how it's supposed to be :/

    • @volka2199
      @volka2199 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@kevinjust6740 No you can be a dual citizen or keep your old citizenship as a naturalized citizen unless your country of origin doesnt allow this. You do have to swear allegiance to America and in doing that you are forsaking allegiance to your nation in the sense that during conflict assuming you can serve you serve America, even if your country of origin is the enemy during the conflict. In more recent times since there hasn't been a draft this hasn't affected anyone since the only way they would fight their country of origin is if they chose to by enlisting. An Iraqi American choosing to fight against Saddam's government would be an example, while an Italian being drafted to fight Italians even if they didnt wish to was something that did happen during WW2, this would be an example of forsaking your country of origin as a condition of becoming a citizen since you would be fighting your own people and subject to potentially mandatory military service you couldn't refuse. So in essence you arent forsaking your status as a member of another nation but you are forsaking your allegiance to that nation in certain scenarios. If you refuse to fight your own nation if the scenario arose by dodging the draft if one existed at the time you would likely lose your citizenship if naturalized for failing to carry out the obligations of an American citizen. I am not certain 100% this would be the punishment however I believe it would be since your refusal is a case of forsaking the pledge of allegiance to America you took when becoming a citizen. This applies to refusing to fight any nation but only this scenario would involve forsaking your nation of origin in a direct manner without having a choice if you wished to remain a citizen, I'm not sure what would happen if there was no draft but you were already in the military during such a scenario. It isnt allowed to disobey orders but I'm not sure what the punishment is if you do.

    Huh so I guess when the foundlings put on their Mandolorian helmets it’s a size that fits no matter what age they become. Interesting explanation as to why other Mandolorians remove their helmets with no issue is because they are born of mandolore lineage. This also continues to prove why Jango and Boba aren’t Mandolorian in any way, they likely just Stole the armor. Essentially Mandolorians would probably view Jango and Boba as a disgrace to their Religion, merely adopting the Armor but never adhering to the culture itself.

    First off, mandalorians are not just humans. They are a bunch of races that follows the code. Similar to the Jedi order and the sith order. Secondly mandalorian are not to remove there helm or true identities to non mandalorians. If you look at the people who do take off their helms are people of higher rank in their respective clans as they are normally the face or leader of the clan or squad within it. Also the reason minor members don't take it off.

    Mandolorians were not originally human beings. They were a race that originated on Coruscant, but were kicked off of their home planet. They were a conquering race. They started letting other races join during a war, as it is an ideology instead of a race.

    My understanding was it was simply to hide their identity. Mandalorians were wiped out in the purge. They where in hiding and only allowed one bounty hunter out at a time. If they always wore a helmet then people would never know how many there was and wouldn't be threatened because it always seemed like there was only one guy wearing the mandalorian armor. Unless you personally fought and survived two different attacks by two different mandalorians you would be none the wiser. This is why once they realized their was a whole clan on the planet they wiped them out at all cost. Also this explains why he goes by the mandalorian not taking a name for himself.
    I have nothing to support this theory, just how I took the dialogue watching the series

    The thing is he’s not the only one. In episode 3 John Favro’s mandolorian makes it very clear that it’s shameful to remove there helmets. When he and Mando tussle the first thing he does is try to remove his helmet. I just hope that thing is well ventilated. Also I’m not convinced he never took it off. What about the implied relationship with Shian? Something tells me getting it on with a helmet on wouldn’t be very practical. Unless that was before he swore the creed or it didn’t count because they were lovers. I don’t know the exact rules.

    My uninformed theory on the discrepancy between the clone wars and the Mandalorian: the Mandalorian culture of the clone wars was more relaxed and suited for a relatively peaceful and prosperous society. While those in hiding after the purge (at least this covert in the show) followed a more orthodox view of their religion.

    The reason he can't take the helmet off is that despite Disney throwing the old EU in the garbage to create a more cohesive universe without all the retcons (really just to sell a new EU to people that had invested in the old EU and make more money while basically double charging us for Star Wars EU content), however Disney Star Wars is already messing up their "continuity" with this show because The Clone Wars and Rebels animated shows are canon a plainly show "real" Mandalorians (not the Fetts) taking off their helmets in public frequently. The ONLY way they can make this rule about not being able to remove helmets work is it will have to be a clan thing, where this one, or few Mando clans choose to keep their helmets on. Or vice versa, maybe where the few ruling clans can remove their helmets but all the minion clans can't.
    Or the show runners will ignore the issue and pretend those shows never happened.
    The Mandalorian himself, who was alive during the Clone Wars and his family were killed by CIS battle droids, has no idea what Jedi are apparently. Order 66 happened and everyone just forgot what Jedi were in less than 2 decades.

    Doesn't the armor means they are both warriors, tools, weapons, dehumanized objects made for war? Like with medieval knights?
    Removing the mask would mean humanization, adding more to that. More off things. That would disorient the enemy and as such dishonour the knight?

    No. The reason Mandelorians, at this point in time, do not take off their helmet is to avoid being identified as in individuals. After the purge, Mandelorians, as a group, went into hiding. The helmets made it difficult to determine how many Mandelorians there actually were. They are in the process of regrouping and uniting. The goal, the only goal, is to increase in strength until they achieve vengeance.

    The Mandalorians weren’t actually humans, they were a species called the Tong that were driven off from their home world due to a species rivalry that happened for centuries. They came to a plant that was uninhabited due to an aggressive species. They called the planet Mandalore and it became their home world. Later they had space crusades and enlisted multiple species into the Mandalorian ranks and culture, most were human. So stating that the Mandalorians were humans from the world of Mandalore is incorrect.
