She first appeared in Season 10. But then again you are correct that Hank is initially the first American character in the show in terms of nationality and dialect etc.

Still in keeping, though, as ANR was formed in 1978 with the merger of South Australian Railways, Commonwealth Railways and Tasmanian Government Railways. Went out of business about 25 years ago, with operations currently split between Pacific National, OneRail Asset Management and a newly restored TGR, now branded as TasRail.

Good video and this shows what vehicles are modeled after. Edward however had a different cab than James when you look at the sides of the cabs. The front windows of the cabs on both James and Edward were the same though.
Something I'd absolutely love to see is more characters based on North American engines. There's plenty of truly legendary ones out there: The Union Pacific Big Boy, the EMD F7 diesel (painted in the beautiful Warbonnet colours of the AT&SF Railway), Santa Fe 3751, the streamlined Milwaukee Road class F7 engines that pulled the Hiawatha express trains, members of the Hudson class such as CPR 2816 Empress and Royal Hudson, and the Countess of Dufferin are a few of the ones I can think of off the top of my head. For the whole worldwide shtick as well, they could add in the South African Class GL Garrett articulated locomotives, or any of the locomotives that took the Orient Express at one point or another. I'm sure that would all make all the train nerds out there very happy.

@@hyprgaming2512 thanks. But he also forgot about Beppe, Lorenzo's guiding coach. Without Beppe, Lorenzo has no sense of direction. That's why he's called "The Lost Engine". That, and he was lost for years in the last tunnel he went through until Thomas found him and got him back up and running.

Well, you see, The Island Of Sodor is mainly based off of Britain. So having American trains wouldn’t make sense.
