If you will notice, when Lea sings this song, she uses 'nagmaliw' instead of the traditional 'magmaliw.' I'm not a linguist but I think singing the first line using past tense makes more sense -- 'Sana'y di nagmaliw ang dati kong araw' (I could be wrong, though :) )
