Doug, since you are the King of "Hacks", I saw one on youtube recently I think you would like. The guy converted an old 5 gallon propane tank in to a portable compressed air tank. This would allow him to use an air hose wherever he wanted, even if there was no electricity, etc. Made me think of it when you were pulling the dirt off the track area. With the portable compressed tank, you could connect your air blowing accessory and blow off the remaining free dirt where you want and not get your garage/driveway dirty.
Doug, another sensible approach and fix/upgrade to your equipment! As well as that seems to work, you should look into getting the idea patented! I'm really enjoying your TH-cam work, it's calm and based on a need you have. Thanks for sharing yourself, your family and your life with us!

That is a mighty "Slick" tool to have! Fabrication of your own tools and jigs is KING. Basically a "built-in" assisted float edge to minimise excessive gouging! Nice and Clean finishing surface.
I want to buy one of those tools. I saw it being used on Rockhill Farms TH-cam channel…I also have a 325G Deere CTL and in this Louisiana mud it would be a very beneficial asset to my operation.

I know exactly why you did this to the tilt blade and what’s more I love the idea… I work in civil construction and bulk earthmoving projects around Melbourne city and greater Victoria from large scale Dam repairs to metro tunnel builds and operate large and small machines all brands and models from 777 dumpers down to a Skiddy , So I get it when you talk about the blade doing a dive and it is hard to control indeed messy and not a fine finish. Looks like that modified dozer blade works really well, and that track cleaning tool, saw the one you made for your neighbor, looks like the ticket!!! And the mounting for that cleaning tool, A+. We're gonna need more info on that thing, assuming you don't start marketing them for sale so we can pick one up for you. I've seen two other YTer's using that tilt plate and have been surprised that it hasn't caught on more, looks handy!! Have a good one!!

Ingenious, Doug!! That’s an excellent enhancement to the dozer blade for your Bobcat. I bet Mike Morgan (Outdoors with the Morgans) could use one of those track cleaning tools you make. He’s got a new Kubota track loader similar to your Bobcat. Adam knows Mike.
I just use 2 wrenches and loosen the fitting when I have pressure built up in my grapple bucket when it sits in the sun like you mentioned. However that's very handy gadget. I def see you having a line of must have products you sell which you prob already do to some degree
I don’t believe that there is a wrong answer, especially if it works for you, also a great idea! Especially for what you’re using it for. In a commercial application, I’d definitely need to be able to remove it, and use a dozer blade the way it is intended. BUT once everything is cut to grade. This would probably help with the nice clean look, and help not leave any washboards, if you didn’t pay attention 100% of the time.
Those are no longer "trails", they are "Interstate Highways". Quite nice! Around here, they use smaller bull dozers to fix the trails. Which do a great job.

We have one of those Bobcat dozer blades also. It is worthless as tits on a boar hog. Gonna try your remedy to see if it will help in our sand. Already replaced the Bobcat shoes with a 6’ flat snow plow blade. It does help a little but still pretty much a useless tool. Expensive attachment and well built too. Wonder if it could be converted to some sort of electronic grade control.
You never had the originals shoes set correctly to start I have a cat Six way dirt blade had two friends sent there’s back same thing your talking about there’s a trick to the shoes they will work fine
You gotta have patent lawyers beating down your door to sign you as a client! I was wondering why you don't, as we say in the south, bush hawg, your trails as opposed to digging them up. I would think vegetation would keep the trails from eroding, or getting muddy, or do you just not have that problem?
I am trying to figure out a quick simple way to make a very small ditch with my skid steer... Just to bury 1" poly pipe for irrigation about 500 feet total. The area is going to be raw land and just excavated and I just need it down about 6" min as I am going back over with 2-4" of new loam after which will end up 8-10" deep in end. I was thinking of just a simple "pick" that I can connect to the bottom of the bucket that I can just jamb into the ground with the bucket and then backdrag along leaving a narrow 2-3" trench 6" deep... Rather than renting a pipe puller machine or attachment. I was considering maybe on one side in the bucket placing a receiver that I could slide a hitch into and use that to mount the "pick" or tooth or whatever that I could put on and take off easily.... Any suggestions? I run pipe in the process of installing new lawns at least a half dozen times a year so it would be very useful. Obviously it would be too dramatic for a good existing lawn I would have to use a dedicated pipe puller to not damage the lawn but in this case where I graded the dirt right before it should be no problem just dragging a spike or whatever maybe a piece of angle .... maybe I will weld and make a "wedge" shape similar to angle just less than the 90 degree to help it slice through as I pull back.
@KLC Ken I think if you go to one of the “tractor stores” you can find things like replacement ripper teeth or V style plow points. You could attach something like that to the machine and plow out that trench?? I did something similar to this when I ran an electric wire down the side of my driveway about 800’. It worked out really well and did not tear up a lot of ground for such a small ditch. Good luck.
@Keith Mueller that tilt plate is not exclusive to bobcat. There are several companies that make them. Just search tilt attachment for track or skid loader.
Love what you are doing. Ironically I happened to pick up two new machines this year the same e60r2 and t770. Great to see what you are doing. Most of my time is mulching, but that dozer blade will be a future purchase when I'm all done with the mulching.

You can cut a level road if the road is not level to start with. That is what I need.

I usually just connect the two on the attachment together it equalizes pressure but you maybe in extreme heat fluctuations

Would tilting the blade so the cutting edge was vertical not keep it from gouging?

Ahh, yes, the tilt attachment will work on most all machines that has the quick attachment buckets and an auxiliary hydraulic hook ups
