One note if you want to use patterned paper, is either put the envelope inside a larger plain envelope that you can address or use a large-enough mailing label that you can write the address on. Either way will work, at least in the U.S. Also, in order not to pay extra postage on a slimline card (again, in the U.S. at least), you have to write the address & apply postage so the long sides of the envelope are at the top & bottom. This actually goes for any size envelope. So, using your envelope as an example, the cupcakes would be horizontal on the finished envelope. It doesn't matter if the back flap is on the top or one end, just where you write the address & affix the postage. If you rotate the envelope 90 degrees so the sort side is at the top & bottom, you will have to pay extra postage. Thank you for doing this video & the template, Jess. I've been looking forward to seeing it since you mentioned it in your video the other day. Take care, & have a fantastic day! :)

Great reminders! If you’re near a diaso (Japanese dollar store) they almost always have some cute long package labels. The labels usually have two areas: big/long and short/small. You affix the big side to the front and fold the short side over the side of the envelope so it’s on the back. The recipient’s address goes on the big side. I’ve also found other fun package labels that take up a good portion of the height of the envelope. They’re all fun additions, something a little more special than your typical label and usually leave plenty of room for postage. They may have something similar in your local office supply store. I’ve also used the large 2-box labels that have open space in them from my old happy planner sticker books. Lots of fun options!

This was a good lesson - and I will do for a special situation, but usually I just use standard white ones. In the US, #9 for tighter fit (as well as #10) can be found at office supply stores. That said, #10s are found everywhere. I can get a box of 40 at the dollar stores for less than $2. But I'm not so particular re envelopes when mailing cards. I also put square cards in larger envelopes because square envelopes require extra postage in US. Thanks, Jess, for posting this session.

Over time I've found a variety of #10 envelopes at the thrift stores: different colors, different patterns, good prices.

No. 9 envelopes would work better than No. 10 for a full size slimline card.
