Hi Patrick😁🙌💞Yeah, it' hard to describe bright indirect sunlight, but you explained it perfect🥰Those plants at Armstrong just make me want to go planty shopping😱💖I enjoyed watching! Planting milkweeds is a great idea because they attract butterflies as you say.
I passed this Armstrong center a gazillion times when I lived in the area. Usually filled up my gas tank at the station at the end of the block. lolol But now I'm inspired to actually stop here when I'm in OC in a few more weeks. THIS Armstrong is on MY list! 😆
the Costa Mesa Armstrong is the one I usually go to also, there is a girl that works there that I chatted with for like 15 minutes about Lithops...they are always so nice there!
I live in a very old house now, so I was able to take advantage of window sills I even added cedar boards to make shelving for my kitchen window, they are the best 😊
Good shout out on the two brands begonias. I also noticed that if it’s grown in the state you live in have a better chance of surviving. I have written a lot of your plant nurseries that look amazing in my memo book.
we have SUPER hard water (living in Texas = limestone). I recently got a water pitcher that filters (from Amazon) and I got aquarium stress coat drops. It’s really helped my maranta
Yes, the Narrowleaf will die back, and will grow back later!!! Self seeds itself too... You can order a Palo Verde tree at H&H, and cheaper than Armstrong. Every October the Eldorado Nature Center in Long Beach has Native plant sell.
Great video! I LOVE my plumeria - I live where I have to bring it indoors for the Winter. Mine blooms pink when outdoors, but the flowers are yellow if it blooms indoors with less light. I've only been able to keep my 'Rabbit Tracks' & 'Lime' marantas healthy - I can't keep other types healthy for very long.
@@Patadendron They are! I usually get a flush of blooms late in Summer, and then again indoors in early Winter. Then it drops a lot of leaves indoors, but snaps right back when it goes back outdoors when the low temps are reliably above 50F.
That is a good point about letting water sit out before watering. I did read that chlorine doesn’t evaporate, but if anything, the minerals & solids will settle at the bottom of the container. So if I do that, I usually don’t give my plants the bottom bit of the water 😊 Actually that’s good to do before watering anything. Of course the only plants that MUST have distilled or reverse osmosis water are carnivorous plants… but that’s a natural adaptation they have, growing in bogs.
That’s a really nice nursery could you next time show more of the houseplants ? Most of the plants you can grow outside I can’t grow because I live in Virginia it gets cold here in the winter I did enjoy the video thank you for taking us along
7:26 I struggle with plumeria, I’m wondering if it’s because I get them from a friend as cuttings, she has given me 2 so far and idk they don’t seem to like me😢
I think the first pink princess is called Galaxy Pink Princess?? Not sure tho. My daughter got one It's absolutely beautiful. Every leaf has beautiful soft pink marbling variegation 💕
Those milkweed are huge. Milkweed are so expensive if you’re feeding the caterpillars. My grandkids got some from a friend and I had to hunt for milkweeds. One small plant get eaten away pretty quick. Too late I got some tropical ones also, but the leaves goes a long way since they are bigger. Heard you need to cut it way down in Nov. & June? I’m into monarch butterfly now also, expensive hobby also. I must have spent close to $100 in milkweed. Start looking for eggs under your leaves. If you have eggs and you will have caterpillars. Pretty soon you will have no leaves left. 😂 .right now I have 7 monarch chrysalis in 1 habitat. It’s fun watching them from eggs, caterpillars , chrysalis to butterflies. Even send for painted lady caterpillars they come in a cup that look like miso paste. It’s a little gross watching them grow and they look so different from monarch chrysalis. Watch for those eggs underneath the leaves.
rv hose filters (i got mine from the hydrostore. hydrologic brand "grogreen") but any home store usually sells them. they take out all the bad stuff from tap.from the cloraine/cloaramine the ph buffer too. next step up would be reverse osmosis
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing Garden Center beautiful and amazing plant collection
11:13 Those are very nice and large Whale Fins. WoW. 🥰😍😘
💯🐳😍
5:07 I'm with Ü, Patrick. I have even added Aquarium Water Conditioners to my tap water, but I don't know if that works either. 🤗
It totally does! That’s such a good hack! 🙌
Oh my goodness, silver band, I have been wanting one badly, how exciting
I going to sign up for your patreon the second I have enough spare dollars I swear it!!! I’ve been dying to see your haul videos !

That’s so funny! I know exactly which gas station you’re referring too! I’ve filled up there a time or two also 😆💚
Oh man I wish there was an Armstrong near me! Those are some good houseplants. Great video!

Opération Monarques got to California❤
I hope you attract a ton of monarch butterflies with those milk weed plants 🤞🤞
Thank you! I do too! 🤞🏼🤞🏼💚💚
I believe you are correct about the milk weed, I see yellow/ white in my area a lot
Thanks Patrick
Oooh you're making me want to go to a nursery today! But I can't until I finish my plant tasks at home!
Sad the closest Armstrong Garden Center that's closest to me is a three day drive to California. Love the video ❤
I live in a very old house now, so I was able to take advantage of window sills I even added cedar boards to make shelving for my kitchen window, they are the best 😊
That is awesome! 🥰❤️
I like crested cacti. ❣️

Oh yeah! That makes sense as it’s acclimated to the states climate!
Love my jungle boogie! I got it a couple months ago at our local nursery for $19 and it has three plants in the pot ❤
we have SUPER hard water (living in Texas = limestone). I recently got a water pitcher that filters (from Amazon) and I got aquarium stress coat drops. It’s really helped my maranta
Yes!! Aquarium stress coat drops are a game changer!! I forget I have that to use, thanks for reminding me ❤️❤️

Are the plumeria blooms just a fragrant if it blooms indoors?

yeah you tropical weather people are sooo spoiled for most plants haha. thanks patrick (and joe)

@@Patadendron Thank you
carolyn palmer Do you drench your soil of the plants u have outside before u bring them in to get rid of any creepy crawlers? If u do what do u use?
I don’t, I usually just quarantine them away from any of my plants for a week or 2
7:26 I struggle with plumeria, I’m wondering if it’s because I get them from a friend as cuttings, she has given me 2 so far and idk they don’t seem to like me😢
Cuttings can be difficult and so much easier to rot! I’ve done better with the established plants too! 💚💚
@@Patadendron ok, ok, you talked me into it, lol I will have to try it the easy way😂

Have you ever propagated a Ponytail Palm? I’ve been trying for months without success 😅
Same! I’ve failed both rounds of trying to germinate seeds 🫠
Ohhh I got the costa farms polka dot begonia and it didn’t look great but she’s doing well. Not quite as tall as this one but yea $20 Walmart.
It’ll bounce back! Wal Mart has the best price for Costa Farms plants
@@Patadendron definitely and seems like the hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot are following 😊
