Our neighbor got a Brangus baby calf. He loved Brutus, and Brutus LOVED his owner back. Brutus behaved more like a spoiled puppy than a calf. When his owner/dad left for work each morning, Brutus chased after dad's truck, with Brutus, of course, inside the fence that ran along the roadside. Our fence cut him off so he stood at our corner and cried. My children gave him bowls of milk to comfort him. When his dad came home in the evening, he knew that truck, and would chase the truck home. Their "reunion" each evening was so touching, so sweet. We watched brutus grow, like yours, into a 1200 pound bull. His behavior was still similar with some of the mooing of pain when parting, and just as much or more affection, petting, head scratching, and so on. I enjoyed your story, because ,I could tell it is real. It doesn't matter the size or the classification of the animal, when we humans love it, an amazing relation begins that is wonderful. I am so glad you had yours and thank you for sharing.
My uncle had a Brahman bull from a calf hand raised him he'd whistle and he'd come running like a dog ..you could hand feed him pat him he was scary big but placid az..
Most likely neutered him. We'd get male calfs and We'd have to get them fixed so the horns didn't grow and they didn't get agressive. We didn't have female cows but there were farms that did around my home. Had we kept them intact they would have become violent and agressive.
Wow….. this was a daily routine of my home I grew up. I remember as a child, My father sat entire night for over a two months next to one of our dying ox trying to keep him covered in blanket in cold wintery nights. He cried for many days like he had lost one of his family member☺️ The name of the Ox was Dhudio (means a white one) he was white as a milk with big dark brown spot on forehead. We had him for my father’s childhood time, born to one of family cow.❤️
Adorable 💜 We raised a calf from less than a day old (his Mom wouldn't accept him or his sister. His sister was large enough to "splice" onto another cow to nurse, but Karma was too small to reach the udders) until he passed away at nearly 20 years old. He hung out with our rescue horses, was very playful, would come running any time I called his name, he loved kids and would slime them by licking them up the outside of their shirts (the kids that got off the school by his corral would visit him everyday after school), and although he grew to approx 1600#, he acted more like a sweet puppy than a giant steer. He was a beef cow (half Hereford/half Black Angus), so as a steer he would have been shipped to slaughter at about 2 years old, but instead he was our sweet boy. He passed away in 2013, but we still miss him tremendously. We're thinking of getting another bull calf bottle baby 😊🐂
When I was five, my parents purchased a Holstein calf, and I fell in love with him. He had a blaze on his head that looked like a 7, so his name was 7. He grew up to be HUGE. Me, the little kid, would go stand in front of him and beller at him, and he'd beller back. Mom was terrified that I'd get trampled, but he was super gentle.

He does and puts it in the trunk of the car. As they approach the border he abruptly stops the car and tells the wife to let the skunk go as border patrol is checking the trunks of cars for contraband.
