    Seems a bit complex. Probably would work if your using it every day...then, you'd get good at it. Though, seems like the demonstration shows him falling from halfway down. Seems like most falls are from either the top or bottom.

    I work for telecom as a 1099, and they don't require fall arrest, straps, and frankly they get annoyed when I tell them it's a dangerous pole. Love the ladder though.

    Ought to be a way to stabilize the ladder to the pole. A sort of 'wingspan' V shape AND strap fixtures at top to strap the ladder to the pole.
    The cable claws are brilliant. Maybe a tree limb claw?

      As technology improves we are constantly looking for ways to innovate our ladders! We have worked on developing a better system than pole straps, but currently, pole straps are the industry standard and we do want to make sure people set it up appropriately.

    Can you demonstrate how it can be used to access the roof of a double storey building?

    • @LittleGiantLadders
      @LittleGiantLadders  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The important thing to remember is that you would not need pole straps or the limited arrest system when accessing a roof. You just need to make sure that the top of the ladder is 3 feet above the landing, otherwise you will have trouble getting on or off the roof.

  • @crashd1n3r
    @crashd1n3r 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Wow. I'd like to see you try on a real pole. You know, with wires and equipment installed already. there is NO WAY these hooks would ever work. I do maybe 1% of my job with the ladder directly on the pole and would never use the straps simply because those bags would get destoyed in less than a week by all the obstacles and tree branches.

    • @LittleGiantLadders
      @LittleGiantLadders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The hooks are not meant for the pole, they're meant for the strand. But for the cases that you are required to go onto a pole, you are likely required to use straps. The bags can be removed from the rungs, they're only there for convenience. If you're in a situation where your truck is constantly brushing up against tree branches and ruining your equipment, you'd likely want to take the bags off.
      The claw hooks are meant for strand work. We work with many cable/telecom companies who provide valuable feedback with our ladders, and the HyperLite itself was developed because we listen to our customers. If you want to see some of the slingshot tests we do, check out this video: vimeo.com/232862098/295865df41

      What are the measurements inside your van? If you don't have 14 feet to put a 28' fiberglass extension ladder in there, you could potentially fit a Model 26 articulating ladder. What is the job you're doing?

      @@navaro20 Ah, makes sense why you'd need it! Fiberglass, being heavier than aluminum, is the reason we only make up to 22 foot in the articulating ladder style. (equivalent of a 24 foot extension ladder when fully extended). After that, for a fiberglass ladder, it's best to get the extension ladder, but that won't fit in the inside of a vehicle at all. The only thing you'd might want to look into is a roof rack for your minivan, and then you can put the ladder up and strap it down.

    • @LittleGiantLadders

      Do you know if it was an aluminum or fiberglass ladder? Because fiberglass ladders have a one year warranty (to be free from defects in workmanship and materials when operated under normal conditions and maintained properly.) while aluminum ladders have a limited lifetime warranty against those same defects. It would be helpful to know what ladder that individual is talking about. None of our warranties cover misuse or mis-handling of the ladder, otherwise people could damage their ladders and get a free replacement whenever they want. www.littlegiantladders.com/pages/warranty-terms-and-conditions

    Not realistic, most of the time there will be a six foot fence and another house and yard on the other side of the pole, your not going to go into the other yard to rig your ropes. I’ve been doing this 38 years.

    • @LittleGiantLadders
      @LittleGiantLadders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many telecom companies require a ladder to be secured to the pole before climbing. I would pay attention to the aerial rules and follow the guidelines put out by your supervisor who should be following the OSHA standards. Including whether you're belting off, attaching the ladder to the pole, surveying the area and the pole, etc.

    • @donhgr
      @donhgr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LittleGiantLadders they do require a ladder to be tied but the normal way is no where as complex as you made it and we definitely wouldn’t have to go onto the other side of the ladder to do all that roping, it’s all done at the foot and from the top of the ladder in half the time if no less. I would suggest you get in touch with reality as to what’s already required and being done. We do have little giant ladders on all trucks but not your silly ropes

      If you work for cable/telecom or use an extension ladder on a pole, it's pretty much the only way currently approved to prevent it from slipping off if you were to fall off your ladder and caught by the limited arrest system. I say, "How bout you have to".
