i saw Saga live, last tour live, it was in Puerto Rico October 2018 and they're so interacting with the crowd, I will die a happy man, they even requested a moment of silence for all of last year's hurricanes , so humble and great of them

SAGA is an amazing band! So underrated. But here in Puerto Rico, they have always been rock gods! They always come to the island because they know they have their biggest fans here. I have lost count of how many times I have seen this amazing band live. From huge stadiums to small stages beside the beach. All here at the island. And they always give an amazing performance.

Yes! I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and around 11 years old when this came out. I vividly remember back then how HUGE Saga (and Triumph!) were to us. Alfa Rock 106 back in the day. 🤘

Saga was my first live concert in 1981 when I was 15 (Rush followed 1982), saw them in 2018 too and was thrilled by the great power this guys still had with nearly the same line up (just Steve Negus, the great drummer had left the band) Absolutely great band and totally underrated, maybe the most underrated band ever!

Well, finally someone loving the Saga as much as I. A local band from here (southern Ontario) which gained huge notoriety in Germany in the 80's. I still see their original drummer around Hamilton. He was working at Payne Music for a while about 7 yrs. ago. Saga has many, many hits which are timeless, including 'On The Loose'. Check out 'Wind Him Up'. Awesome.

Saga was a big band here in Canada and were HUGE over in Europe. I was working as an on-site computer tech in Toronto for a company run by a guy named Moshe (Marty) Lerman, and he was, and I image, still is, quite the character. He was the manager for Saga back in the day, and he financed their first European tour, and the tour did so well, Marty manager's cut was good enough to buy him a brand new Porche.

One of my selfish favorites. My metal friends loved this tune, but I could never convince them of the greatness of Wind Him Up; or The Flyer; or so many other tremendous songs and albums. So they remained my band. Rush is Rush and I adore them and their career. Saga has been around as long, and made so much incredible, entertaining and touching music, but without the American breakthrough success, so not many remember them. Many know this song from Worlds Apart, and the subsequent video, but it was recorded in '78, and re-released on World's Apart in '81. Technically, this song is 40 years ago, and possibly older depending on when it was composed. Sadler's voice is one of those deep, resonant and unique tones in prog/pop history. Tons of presence, genuine, reassuring and authoritative: which made for an amazing story-teller. And as a guitarist with an affinity for technical prowess, you would be astounded at the "shred" that Ian Crichton was serving up while Yngwie and Randy Rhoads were still trying to tune up (and I love both, so don't misunderstand my point, please.). Consider these runs, recorded in '78, while Eddie Van Halen was grabbing the spotlight with modified pentatonics, tapping and the dive-bomb. Crichton was like having a Lukather/DiMeola hybrid in the band. Amazing player. Tasteful, technical, musical and prolific.
Can you tell that I'm a fan?

I owe many thanks for introducing me to this band and album Rich. I can't believe I haven't heard this before. I loved it so much I listened to the whole album then bought the vinyl and CD off eBay. The album cover is actually a US alternative. 😁 Thank you!

LOOOOOVED this band back in the day. Worlds Apart and Heads or Tales were awesome albums. My early 80s workout jam lol. Still gets me going almost 40 yrs later. (omg Im old). Damn, they still got it too! Y'know what's really funny. . . I remember people criticizing their sound for being too "overproduced," but they clearly had the same sound live. I had no idea they were still active. Thanks so much for this.

And yes, I learned this on the keyboard in music class. Or at least tried to play it. That's when I realized the drums were my calling.
