I think as well as sticking to the rules and being consistent. The referees in both the women's and mens games must realise people pay good money to watch entertainment. Not watch the officials being the star of the show. The wasting time should have been dealt without the need to book a player. The whistle and booking and sending off took longer than if the game was allowed to go on. When Chelsea equalise in injury time the referee again stuck to the rules but defending with eight players was again punishing players for cramp. The rules and officials need to be looked at and they need to realise that it is an entertainment not a referee talent show.

Dealing with it without booking a player is what players have come to expect, so they take advantage of that situation. It's not entertaining to watch the amount of time wasting that goes on in a game and a few kicks up the arse will hopefully result in an attitude adjustment.

Chelsea didn’t deserve to get 3 points today with this performance I don’t think they can retain the WSL Title 🏆 🥇 They should play much better then they did today to have any chance of retaining the Title 🏆🥇 Some people criticising Referee in here but I tell you that you are wrong because she did a great job today ok

And not only that, Kerr managed to kick air instead of the ball, but at least she was part of a created occasion. What a wonderful attacking side.
There was nothing “controversial” about that sending off. “Twice” the Ref said “Greenwood hurry up!” and three times Greenwood poddled. She deserved that second yellow for timewasting. Too much gamesmanship has crept into the game, the Men’s and the Women’s and it needs to be stamped out, along with a lot of other things. Decent is another and the message is clear…”shut the f….up”. I thought the Ref was being strong and good for her, Players get away with far too much these days. Down to 10, down to 9, Chelsea should have gone on to win this game, but they were not at their best, Lauren James certainly was not. Hayes was right to bring on Kerr, but should have left Fishel on, or bring Kirby on and played two up there. 2 points dropped by Chelsea and need to make this up, although to be fair, they did hit the woodwork three times, so City were certainly riding their luck. On a footnote: I watched the game again from the BBC coverage….those two Commentators, on the game, could not have been more bias towards City, if they had tried. Great game though.
You must have been at the game to hear the refs warnings as I didn't watching the tv coverage, This referee was also at the world cup and was just as prone to dishing out yellow cards. I am not a supporter of either team. Having said that the Chelsea player who fouled Hemp just before Hemp was sent off should have got a yellow card and didn't.
Case of Referee wanting to be the Star of the Show........bit too card happy.
