It's Not You - It's ME. Let's Get Triggered

Well folks, It's time. Yup. We have come far enough in our voyage into the dark soul of DCS - also known as the Mission Editor that we must confront the guardian of all of it's real power. The feared Trigger Monster. The trigger system in the DCS ME is easily the thing that defeats more novice users than anything else. But it doesn't have to be overwhelming. It can seem like a steep learning curve because there are so many different things you can do with triggers. They reall are at the heart of the power of the Mission Editor
Today, though, we aren't going to do anything very daunting. In this introduction to triggers we'll take a look at how triggers work and learn to do some basic things. And we'll probably return to base with all of our limbs and our sanity intact. Have a look.
This ME tutorial is meant for new users or for anyone who has done a bit of mission editing but hasn't experimented much with the trigger system. For experienced mission editors, you won't find anything new here, but you are welcome to contribute your own tips and tricks in the comments.

Hi mate I've got a couple of editing questions if you don't mind. 1) is it possible to blow a local power plant and the closest towns power goes black?
2) is it possible to get the ai to bomb a warship and then most of the ship is covered in thick black smoke with small fires around the ship? I'm asking this one because I want to see if its possible for a helo to come to the ships rescue and pick up survivors from the deck.

Not sure that I have all the answers for you. For your first question. I'm pretty sure that DCS does not model the power distribution grid in any way so I think you are probably out of luck. As for the second question, I don't know that much about how ships are handled. But if you drop by the Discord server someone might know more.
